The main thing to know is that the 6-7 hour time estimate is not accurate. It took 8 hours and if you've seen a lot of temples, you might want to consider whether it's worth spending a full day driving to see two more. In general the guide was very knowledgeable and driver drove very safely. Guide and driver accommodated our group's needs. The temple in Dendera is quite similar to the one is Esna, but Dendera one has interesting faces on the tops of the columns; in addition, this one has ladders to a couple high up rooms, and an interesting long flight of shallow stairs to the rooftop that other temples in Upper Egypt do not have. The Great Seti I temple in Abydos is interesting for the rays of light coming through the roof. Perhaps more interesting is the Osireion, an ancient temple behind that people think is 4-5 stories deep, but remains mostly under water. However, the stairs down to it were closed and we could only see from above. Oddly our guide knew nothing about it.

Long day, glad I wasn't driving. Only a few people, so plenty of space to wonder and take photographs. Abydos only had about 12 people there total. No wonder, the road through the town is horrific.

The excursion to visit the temples of Abydos and Dendera this January 2025 was extraordinary, with an exceptional driver and breathtaking monuments. It was the first time a tour agency driver arrived ahead of the scheduled time at our hotel. Must know the Riad is difficult and takes time you will never forget su h experience Thank you to Eye of Egypt! Abydos and Dendera are truly handled by an agency that lives up to its reputation.

Dendera it's a spectacular monument!!! It's so beautiful and Abydos it's also, but it's far away. But don't worry about that because our driver Hossam it was professional and punctual!

Having seen and experienced Luxor, Aswan, Memphis, and Giza, Dendera and Abydos are hands down the ones I would go back to again and again! Of course, nothing compares to the great pyramids but temple-wise, Dendera is truly an amazing site. You'll come out with a neck ache from gazing at the ceilings for so long but well worth it. The guide was amazing with insights at each of these places and the driver was super-friendly. One of the best tours I took in Egypt.

Good trip to temples of Dendera and Abydos. The temples were amazing. Guide Ragab was very helpful, informative and speaks very good English. We liked him as he recommended good places to get food and also value cartouches. Highly recommended!

Achmed was a very responsible and nice driver, who speaks English. His car was spacious and comfortable. He also provided complimentary water bottles and juices. Furthermore the communication was clear and timely, even though we booked last minute. We were very happy to visite the temples of Dendera and Abydos. They are both an absolute day trip must when you are visiting Luxor. We would highly recommend booking this tour!

Both temples were amazing and it is unfortunate more people don't see them. Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable about both sites. If you want to see Abydos and Dendera while you are staying in Luxor be aware this is a very good option. Be aware that these sites are a long way from Luxor and the roads are quite rough by Western standards - for us it took a lot longer than the 7 hour estimate.
