This was nice. They drop you off at the different places and give you free time to explore. It’s not a guided tour which I really liked. Lunch was at an ”elephant sanctuary” which I thought was questionable. They said that the elephants could live freely in the forest and only came to the fence for snacks. However, they were obviously trained to perform tricks for tourists, like putting a hat on a person etc.

This was an awesome tour!...
This was an awesome tour! The day was filled with activities and the boat ride was very peaceful. The lunch was excellent and I also was able to see and feed the elephants. Ended the day with the waterfalls, rice farm and sunset cruise. Highly recommend! The tour guide Von was great and knowledgeable.

Seeing sights, with insight
This was essentially a walking tour of Luang Prabang, with an added visit to a beautiful series of waterfalls about 30 km away. My guide was a former Buddhist monk from a highlands tribe who provided great insight into how Laos is culturally "put together" among the various population groups. He was also easily able to relate the stories behind the temple displays, and explain the meaning of the rituals performed there.

Falls excursion
The falls were great. 2 hours were allotted to spend there. Opportunities to swim, visit the bear refuge, zip line or climb to the tree top cafe. The stop along the way at the Hmong village seemed rather rushed and an afterthought though since we were rushing to have more time at the falls. We had a good guide who gave commentary on the drive to and back from the falls.

It was a really good tour. The cruise back to Luang Prabang was out of this world with the beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed myself thoroughly, thank you.

A very beautiful...
A very beautiful experience kayaking on the Mekong River.
Visiting and swimming at the waterfalls was stunning.
A walk through a traditional village was also a lovely experience.
A compact package that has it all and is ideal for those who only have a few days available.

Really lovely time...
Really lovely time kayaking on the Mekong in the morning, showers & towels provided before a very good buffet with a lot of different options for lunch. Then headed to the waterfall where you have plenty of time to swim, you’re not staying with your group so it feels like your own holiday if you want to.

Waterfalls fairly good...
Waterfalls fairly good but similar to lots of ones we had already seen in SE Asia.
The cruise back along the Mekong river was the highlight for us 5/5! Really relaxing, great views with the sunset and a big bottle of beer to go with it.

Between the butterfly park, the bear-rescue sanctuary, and the falls themselves, the Kuang Si area makes an excellent family day out.
Lao women don’t wear bikinis and often swim in T-shirts and shorts or fully clothed. Men should add a T-shirt to their swimwear, while women should wear one-pieces or wear a T-shirt over their bikini.
The Kuang Si Falls are equipped with simple public restrooms and changing rooms.
The path to the falls is not wheelchair-friendly.
