Saw 5 sloths, one with baby, thanks to Jason
I joined a morning sloth tour on 13 April 2026. My tour was led by Jason. I was impressed by his love of nature, respect for nature and how he inspires us to respect nature by our actions sovthat nature will look after us too - never feed wild animals, stay on the trail, turn volume off, speak quietly, do not touch plants (can be poisonous). We are visiting their homes.
We sighted 5 sloths, both 2 toes and 3 toes - one sleeping, one moving slowly, one eating leaves, one mummy sleeping with her fluffy ball baby. We were treated with water melon at the end of the visit.
It is a private reserve, and the forest in it is as wild as it gets, with lots of sloths.
It is paradise for nature lovers.

Great activity that you do have to be fit
We enjoyed this activity. You do have to be fit. There are 500 stairs down to the waterfall and 500 stairs back up. There is a I don’t know two or 3 mile hike to the volcano. I think we spent too much time at the volcano, but then we hiked back down and had a very good lunch. You’re better off to have the fish which was very good because they don’t give you a knife to cut the pork or the chicken. The hanging bridges was very fun. The tour guide was great at locating the different animals to see they all bring a telescope because some of the animals are hard to see they’re high up in the trees, but he was very good at taking pictures on everybody’s phones so that we all had those memories. The hanging bridges really aren’t that scary so if you’re afraid of hanging bridges, they really aren’t that bad. I would definitely change the order of the activities. They should really start the morning with the thermal bath because it’s a little cooler out so that might be welcome. They started with the waterfall and it was still kind of cool outside, so some of us had no desire to jump in the waterfall. Whereas at the end of the day when you’re hot and sweaty, that would be very welcome. So I would just reverse it by doing the thermal baths first and then ending the day at the waterfall. But other than that very worthwhile activity, we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing
Beautiful experience!! Those 500 steps were so worth it. It’s not bad at all because I’m very active but many people, including one of my best friends, did kind of struggle coming back up. All in all, amazing experience. We were self guided and we just went and enjoyed the waterfall and took photos. The water is ice cold!

We had an incredible time...
We had an incredible time with Pure Trek Canyoning! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and exciting.
Special thanks to Samuel (Pick-up Assistant) and Jonathan (Driver) for the smooth and punctual transportation—it made the start of our day stress-free.
Our tour guide, Enrique, was phenomenal. He provided detailed safety briefings and shared fascinating information throughout the tour, making us feel both safe and well-informed. The waterfall rappelling itself was exhilarating and professionally managed.
If you’re looking for a top-notch adventure in La Fortuna, this is it. Thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable family memory!

Lots of Fun!
If you like to be adventurous this tour is for you. We took the ATVs on dirt roads, regular roads, through water and we even added an optional upgrade to go to see the volcano rocks. Once you get to a certain spot on the volcano trail, you do have to walk up a steep hill, but it is not bad. Once you get to the top you can see a great view of the volcano and some of the lava rocks left behind from the eruption. I highly recommend this activity if you like off-roading. Just lift your feet up when going through the water and your shoes won't get wet.

Best way to see wildlife!
Saw many amazing birds! All three types of monkeys and so much more wildlife! It was the most wonderful day we have had in Costa Rica. Our guide was so knowledgeable! Knew every bird and animal and so much about them. Our captain had the eagle eye!! Enjoyed every minute! Got wonderful pictures!

Amazing wildlife tour
It was a long bus ride from La Fortuna (probably 2 hours) but well worth it. Easily the best tour we have gone on in Costa Rica. We saw over a dozen caimans, a dozen bird species, iguanas, JC lizards, slider turtles, a sloth, a howler monkey, and a troupe of white face monkeys. And the lunch after the tour was excellent. Our guide David was excellent.

Totally worth it!
What an amazing day! If you’re expecting a hike through the jungle, that’s not quite it. It’s easy pathways through the jungle with amazing animals and bridges. Rasta was our guide and he’s awesome! A wealth of knowledge with some humour. We had a great day to see the volcano, a great lunch and what a great cool off at the falls. Highly recommend!!

Cocao to Chocolate from start to finish
Grexel was the most enthusiastic guide, we loved her! She and her team showed us how cocao turns to chocolate in all its various stages (including tastings at each stage). It was super fun and cool to learn the process and we were full from all the chocolate we ate!

Fun for Family of Four
This was a great experience! We started at the waterfall which due to recent rains, was incredible!! Swimming was so fun with so many fish! We had lunch which was delicious in a beautiful place. We had rain and a lot of fog at the volcano so visibility was low, but still fun. Our guide made sure we saw monkeys and sloth along the way. My husband and I had our sons 8 and 2.5 for the tour. Our 8 yr old had no issues with any activities. We had our youngest in a backpack carrier we brought for the hiking and stairs - couldn’t have done it otherwise. I requested a child car seat when booking and it was ready to go upon arrival. The timing of everything was perfect. No long van rides. Our kids also loved the lunch and they even had some games for them to enjoy. Perfectly run tour company, always thinking ahead and putting safety first. This was a great way to experience the rainforest. Highly recommend.

Says 4 in 1 but it’s only 3 activities.
Full day of touring. Never felt rushed. Two guides for our group because it was fairly large (12 ppl). Guides were knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Van was comfortable, with AC, and there was space for our belongings. Guides brought walking sticks for those who need one. We went to three different spots- the volcano/Mistico park, el silencio (the preserve) and the waterfall. Each activity required a wristband and parking seemed to be free. You could do all of this on your own but the guides were able to spot many different animals and show us with their scope. Binoculars would be helpful if you don’t have a guide with a scope. The lunch was good. It was a long day. Started promptly at 730 and ended at 4.

Rainy but Magical Arenal Adventure
We had an amazing rainforest hike at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, followed by a relaxing visit to the hot springs. Our guide Joseph was fantastic — full of energy and incredibly knowledgeable. Thanks to him, we spotted a sloth right at the beginning of our tour!
The hike itself was rainy, but still unbelievably beautiful. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see the volcano because of the weather — that’s nature for you.
To end the day, we soaked in the hot springs, which was absolutely wonderful. A perfect finish to a great adventure!
