This is a fabulous tour!! One of my best experiences in Kyoto. Richard was our tour guide and he was excellent. He is a wonderful storyteller, as he is intelligent, knowledgeable, passionate, patient and a cool guy ;) Also, he communicates in English very well. Despite the rain and a bit cold that day, it was truly a pleasure to listen to Richard and to participate in this tour. He showed us many historic parts of the beautiful Kyoto city, and he explained to us the history and the culture of Maiko and Geisha. We even got lucky and we saw a few geisha that night walking the streets of Gion district. Wow!! It was very special to witness and almost surreal. Richard kept things interesting and fun during the entire tour, and he managed to keep everyone engaged and excited, even the two little girls that were on this night tour with us. Bravo! :) I would highly recommend booking this tour with Richard. You will not regret it. Thank you Richard!! I would gladly take this tour again or any other tours guided by you. I really enjoyed this walking tour. Hiro was an excellent guide—his English was perfect and he shared a lot of history, which made the experience far more meaningful. Despite the rain, it was a wonderful evening. The group was small, which made it easy to hear, move comfortably, and stay engaged throughout. While some of the views were limited by the weather, it didn’t take away from the experience at all. In some ways, the rain added to the atmosphere. Overall, a very well-run tour with a knowledgeable and engaging guide. I’m very glad I went.

Our guide Kelle was so much fun, as he walked us through the neighborhood of the bamboo forest, sharing ghost stories along the way. All the other tourists had left for the night, so we were alone in the bamboo forest. That was so amazing! I wanted to just sit and meditate, but alas, had to keep moving. Still, our group was pretty small, and friendly, so we simply enjoyed walking around in the dark together, well, when we weren't feeling that tickle of hair standing up on the back of our necks...
