Top Calabria Wildlife Encounters in 2026

This private alpaca walk in Pizzo offers one of the more unusual ways to take in the Costa degli Dei coastline in Calabria. Guide your friendly alpaca—the only ones in the region—through a pine forest that opens onto the beach at Colomaio, and choose an evening slot to watch the sunset along the coast. Spend time with alpacas raised for close human contact, and that are calm around children.
