This is not a fixed-location tour—we follow the weather and aurora forecasts to find the clearest skies each night. Some evenings we stay near Sortland, other times we drive over the mountains in search of open sky. You’ll travel in a warm vehicle, enjoy hot drinks and snacks, and receive free aurora photos taken by your guide. Along the way, you’ll learn about the Northern Lights, Arctic nature, and local culture. From beginning of September to April the chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Northern Norway are great. The weather (cloud cover) and the geomagnetic prognosis determine where the road takes us on the given day. We will take you where the chances of clear skies are the greatest and the best locations for seeing the Northern Lights. We go all in to find the Northern lights by checking 25+ different spots. Some nights we have a late return to Bodo (like 2 am). Last seasons we have had a hit rate around 88 %. Before the trip starts we will advice on how the chances to see the lights are. We head out from town in a comfortable Mercedes 7 seater van (4WD) with panoramic sunroof.

Join Rampen on a guided snowshoe hike in Bodø to Valnesfossen, one of Northern Norway’s largest waterfalls, and Saltstraumen, known as the world’s strongest tidal current. As far as safaris goes - using ebikes gives us an unique and exciting close contact with nature. On flat and easy roads this is your chance to experience a close encounter with the local wildlife! We take our time as the evening twilight sets in a slow pace - keeping a good lookout at both sides. Moose encounters must be treated with respect and caution, so at any spotting we stop and assess this magnificent animals behaviour. Signs may indicate a calm retreat or an opportunity to stay and watch.
