Top Bali Day Trips

This tour will challenge all your senses and courage but is also exhilarating and unforgettable. It is weather dependent as the wind and moon can affect the waves and the visibility in the water especially at the first stop at Nusa Penida manta point. We went out on a good day 😊 It starts with a bang in the Indian Ocean and is the scariest stop but one of the best parts of the tour. We saw 6-7 manta rays, one so close up its wing almost clipped my face. The rays are incredibly beautiful and graceful creatures. You have to jump from the boat into the waves, holding your snorkel and takes a minute or two to orientate to being sloshed around in the waves and current. It is not the deep blue as you can see the bottom of the sea from a height at the surface but yeah, all good, keep calm. Our wonderful guide Vino and Jack will check visibility and current and took good care of us. Wear the lifejacket if you are not confident in the water. Vino was a star in spotting mantas and giant sea turtles (I saw 4 over two snorkelling spots) so try to keep close to him. If you get seasick, do take your seasickness pills ahead of time. The motion is quite relentless because you are on a boat or in the water all morning. The first (manta point) stop is the choppiest and then it gets calmer in the other snorkelling spots as we do gentle drift snorkelling with the current and see multitude of colourful fishes and coral reefs. Lunch was good at a scenic spot with a heavenly gate photo op. If you have motion sickness, you have the option to stay behind at the lunch place to have a nap on outdoor beds and give the land tour a miss. This avoids the twisty bumpy 40 minute car ride to Kelingking Beach and back. You may find you do not miss much as the view from the lunch place is equally spectacular and Kelingking Beach was very crowded. Our boat ride from Nusa Penida back to Sanur was bumpy. The captain had to cut the engine once or twice when coming across a big wave. That added to the fun but not for those with seasickness. Vino took lots of photos and videos with the go pro camera and sent us the link to them at the end of the tour. All in all, it was a thrilling and memorable experience. This is a well-planned and organised tour with good equipment. Unlike other reviews, I felt we had enough time at each spot and did not feel rushed. I highly commend Vino, Jack, the captain of our boat and the various sea creatures!

We really enjoyed the half day! Our guide was so flexible & willing to stop at other places along the way in addition to what was planned. We didn’t take him up on it as we needed to be back for our flight home. But it was nice to know we had the option.

My guides were super friendly, helpful, and professional even when I got sick. Lol! The water was rougher than usual, and I did get very seasick even with the over the counter medicine I took before the trip for motion sickness and they gave me during the trip. I usually don’t get seasick, but I would definitely recommend getting the patch or something stronger from the doctor before the trip. It is a very curvy road trip to the magnificent Kelingking Beach and lunch restaurant too. Both of these places provided generous views! Please note that you need to pay for a car to pick you up at your hotel for a separate reasonable free, They provided me with everything else I needed to enjoy a wonderful day of snorkeling. I got to see so many beautiful colorful fish and coral as well as turtles which was so amazing!!

There are many tour operators in Bali, but not all of them hold their drivers to the same high standards. I recently booked two tours with Hire Bali Driver, and they were excellent—legit, professional, and very prompt in their communication. What I loved most is that their guides wear traditional Balinese attire. It really sets them apart from other guides who can look a bit scruffy; it shows true professionalism and pride in their cultural heritage. Our guide, Wah Ko, was fantastic and clearly enjoys working for this company. We spent two lovely days with him. He was proactive, introducing himself via WhatsApp and confirming all the details a day in advance. He always arrived early in a comfortable, clean, and smoke-free car. Since Bali traffic can be a nightmare—taking 1–2 hours just to reach an attraction—having a working AC was a lifesaver! Wah Ko was so thoughtful; he always made sure to turn on the AC before we even got back into the car. He shared great insights as we passed through various villages. Although the heat and humidity forced us to skip Tukad Cepung Waterfall at the end, the trip was still perfect. He never asked for a review, but I offered to write this because he truly deserves a rave one!

Putu our lovely guide was waiting for us. He chatted & answered questions. We had a truly lovely day. Highlight for me was the Jungle Swings Photo Shoots, there were many to choose from and they took the pictures with your own phone (no hidden costs), we enjoyed the Monkey Forest too, monkeys & fox bats. We opted to do the glass walk above the waterfall. The waterfall was a little disappointing but the views made up for it. A very good day

We had a lovely day out with Soma! He shared that he is newer to working in the tourism industry but you would never know that because he seemed so seasoned! He was friendly, flexible and made us feel taken well care of. The snorkeling itself was also beautiful! It was one of the best spots I have been to!

My driver, Rob, was so friendly and kind to me. On the way to the hotel, he stopped at a coffee plantation which was absolutely amazing. He was very accommodating and talked a lot about the local culture and things to see and do. It was very refreshing to have someone who was so accommodating, not knowing what to expect in Bali and traveling solo. Part of my amazing experience in Bali had to do with the first interaction I had with anyone there, which was Rob! Thank you so much.

We had an amazing time ATV riding, and I can’t recommend this excursion enough! The ride itself was incredibly fun — full of excitement, great views, and just the right amount of adventure. Definitely come prepared to get a bit muddy! I recommend bringing a change of clothes and socks. They provide boots, lockers, shower rooms, and towels, which makes everything super convenient. You can also buy ponchos in the shop if you need them. A special shoutout to Bawi, our driver, who was so nice and professional the entire time. He took great care of us and made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a memorable and enjoyable excursion, this is absolutely the one to choose!
