Perfect Introduction to Azerbaijan
Our guide showed up on time, spoke excellent English and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Our guide did an excellent job setting expectations for driving times, laid out the options available at the various sites and utilized travel time efficiently by giving us the information on the culture and significant events in Azerbaijan's history. Our guide was able to answer all of the many questions that we asked.

Unique opportunity to see 10,000 year old petroglyphs and play in live mud volcanoes!
I'll do this one in parts as there were several different stops. --Qobustan - These cave sketches were AWESOME.. As they were over 10,000 years old its incredible how good of shape they were in and I would definitely recommend checking them out. The museum there was REALLY well done and signs were in English as well. --Mud Vulcano - This is another very unique opportunity! Some of the volcanoes could be lit on fire with a match due to the leaking methane. The other volcanoes that were filled with mud were just bubbling bubbling away. You could heard them pop as they bubbled to the surface. You could also stick your hand in and draw in the mud. BONUS - I paid our driver 10 bucks to let me drive his 40 year old Russian 4 speed car on the dunes and that was really fun! Ateshgah - This stop at the fire temple as not very interesting. The fact that a few different religions all lived there at once was pretty cool though. BONUS - I complimented one of the tour guides (Almira) on how cool her glasses were.. the very glasses she was WEARING and she gave them to me! I was so flattered and I'm going to put a prescription in them when I get home. Yanardag Fire Mountain Tour - For me this was a big dud. I have just went to the "Gates of Hell" in Turkmenistan and they were 500 times bigger and more impressive than this one tiny flame. i would skip this stop all together.
