Drive past the neo-classical buildings of the Academy, the University, and the National Library, and on to Omonia Square before moving on to Syntagma or “Constitution Square” (the heart of central Athens). Opposite is the Parliament building, where the National Guards (Evzones) in their colorful uniform skirts and pompom shoes guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. See the Pan-Athenian Stadium, the all-white marble stadium where history was made as the site of the first modern Olympic Games. Nearby, the Temple of Zeus is separated from modern Athens by the tall stone structure Hadrian’s Arch. Also view the Pnyx , the Theseum and the Agora with the reconstructed Stoa of Attalos. Excellent Guide, good insights into the artifacts and related history

We arrived early, and the guide was waiting for us. The tour was well laid out, visiting key items from this vary large museum in chronological order. The guide was very knowledgeable, with interesting information about each item we viewed, and the related history. Well paced tour. No one can see everything in this museum in a couple of hours, but this tour makes sure you see the historically important items, and the beautiful ones. Our tour was in English and the guide's English was excellent.

We had issues with our...

We had issues with our tickets when we first got to the museum. It showed that the tickets had already been used by someone else. We tried to get ahold of the company, Clio Tours, to no avail. We ended up buying two more tickets to see the museum. We sent a text message to them, asking for a refund. They said it had to come from Viator. They seemed very unconcerned about fixing the problem, it also happened to three people who came in right behind us. Viator did come through and gave us a refund. While we trust Viator, I would not trust Clio Tours

Outstanding Tour of the National Archaeological Museum with Vassillis We had an outstanding two-hour tour of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens with Vassillis. He was an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, engaging, thoughtful, and very easy to understand. In just two hours, he brought thousands of years of Greek history to life and helped us appreciate the museum’s most important treasures in a way we never could have done on our own. Vassillis did an excellent job explaining the historical context, artistic importance, and cultural meaning behind the exhibits. He knew how to focus our time on the highlights while still giving us enough depth to truly understand what we were seeing. His explanations were clear, interesting, and filled with insight. What made the tour especially enjoyable was his warm personality and passion for Greek history. He answered our questions patiently, adjusted the pace perfectly, and made the museum experience both educational and memorable. We highly recommend Vassillis to anyone visiting the National Archaeological Museum. His tour was one of the highlights of our time in Athens.
