Andy was very knowledgeable, organised and accommodating. We were travelling with an 11 month old baby and nervous about space and crowds. Whilst the museum itself is not terribly well set up for strollers (carrier is generally preferable during busy tines especially) Andy helped us navigate this very smoothly.

Andy is a great tour guide. We were late to the pickup point and he waited for us. He explained the terra cotta army site in great detail and answered any questions we had.

Andy rocks!

Andy was such an amazing guide! Such a local perspective of the warriors and the bonus of eating at his family’s home was the best! Thank you Andy for a wonderful tour, highly recommend to others!

Warriors & a home cooked meal :)

Maki_N, Mar 2026
Great day with Andy at the Terracotta Warriors museum. Andy was very knowledgeable and welcoming to everyone and made accommodations so all felt looked after and comfortable. It was great to hear the history and stories behind the Terracotta Warriors and meeting one of the original farmers who discovered them in the 60s. After the museum, we were invited to lunch at Andy’s parent’s house where they welcomed us to a wonderful home cooked meal. What a treat. Highly recommend!

If You're Going to Do a Tour, This is the One

I highly recommend this small group tour of The Terracotta Soiders. Min was a great guide. Her English was really good, and she was a wealth of knowledge about relevant history. The highlight was a delicious lunch in a local family's home. The husband and wife prepared about 8 local dishes.

An Unforgettable Tour!

Absolutely unforgettable! My visit to the Terracotta Army was, as expected, a breathtaking encounter with history. Nothing prepares you for the scale and solemnity of standing before the silent ranks of warriors, each face uniquely etched with purpose over two millennia ago. The Terracotta Army is awe-inspiring, but the true highlight was a lunch that felt like a homecoming. At a family house, we were welcomed like old friends and served the most delicious, heartfelt meal—simple, warm, and full of soul. It was the perfect, comforting end to a day of wonder. Don't miss this tour!

Wonderful Tour guide Willow! The tour started on time, pace was good and the lunch at the village home was a unique experience

A fantastic tour

Andy, our guide and owner of the business, contacted me the day before through WhatsApp to confirm pickup time and place and was there when he said he'd be. The day itself was brilliant. Andy explained the history of the discovery of the warriors and also about the time they were built. He also explained about the history of Xi'an, and also how things had changed dramatically in his lifetime. As for the actual visit to the Warriors, it was excellent and Andy was a great guide. But the icing on the cake for this trip was lunch with a local family. But not just any family. It was with his parents in their little village. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious and plentiful. It was a very memorable day and I'd highly recommend this trip to anyone.

A nice tour and lunch

Andy the tour guide provided a personal service, pick up and drop off from/to the hotel. The history and details were explained clearly and after the tour the lunch at the family's place was quite nice.

Andy was an awesome guide who speaks very good english and explains a lot of things about the terracotta army! You get to eat at his families house which is the most authentic experience you can probably get regarding local food! I can absolutely recommend this tour :)

A Memorable Day in Xi’an – Thanks to Our Amazing Guide, Amber!

Sarah_M, Aug 2025
I had an unforgettable day touring Xi’an, visiting the incredible Terracotta Warriors, the majestic Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the historic City Wall. Each site was fascinating in its own right, but what truly made the day special was our guide, Amber. Amber was absolutely outstanding – funny, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable about the rich history and culture of Xi’an. She brought each location to life facts, and insights. Her passion for her city was clear from the start, and her ability to connect with everyone in our group made the experience personal and enjoyable. What I appreciated most was how accommodating she was. Whether it was adjusting the pace, answering every question with patience, or helping us find the best photo spots and local snacks, Amber went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. A special highlight of the day was lunch, which was simply amazing. It was homemade, authentic, and absolutely delicious – easily one of the best meals I've had in China. There was so much food, every dish was prepared with care, and the hospitality of the local hosts was heartwarming. It felt like being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just stopping for a tourist meal. If you're planning a trip to Xi’an, ask for Amber – she truly made this tour one of the highlights of my entire trip to China.

Xi’an morning Terracotta Army tour

MarkA_B, Jul 2025
Our Wednesday, July 2nd tour with our guide Amber was excellent. Despite the enormous crowds typical of peak season, we were able to navigate in and out of the key areas smoothly and managed to see all the main points of interest. Although the museum portion was self-guided, we were very satisfied with the overall service provided by the tour agency and would definitely use them again. We also highly recommend visiting the Tang Dynasty Garden and the evening wall show—both were memorable highlights. — Mark & Jane, California,

Amazing tour

This was really great tour . You’ll get to see all the main attractions, everything you came for to Xi’an : Terracotta Warriors, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Temple complex , the Drum Tower and so much more . Our guide Mike worked really hard to show us every little detail and tell us everything about the history of these amazing places. You’ll learn so much ! Mike used to work in the States so his English is great . I also would like to mention the lunch , which is included with this tour , it was in the small village and was an authentic and super delicious .

I will be Back

After searching GetYourGuide for Terracotta Army and Xi'an highlights tours, we picked this one—and it was the best decision! It felt like exploring with an old friend. We even got to Andy’s place for authentic home - cooked meals, a once - in - a - lifetime treat. The itinerary covered top spots like the Terracotta Army, City Wall, and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, perfect for our short stay. The price was unbeatable, and we had an amazing time. Don’t miss it—you won’t regret booking! I’ll definitely come back and use their services again.

Great experience despite a busy day

My two boys and I absolutely loved this tour. Having a tour guide explain one on one the history and meaning behind what you are looking at is worth every dollar. Our guide and driver were amazing, our guides passion for Xi'an and the local history just made it all the more interesting. Rosemary was so nice and we felt so comfortable with her that she really felt like a friend at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this tour.

David did a great Job. Explaining all I wanted to know, giving me time to enjoy every place, and taken all the pictures I wanted. He was very friendly and accommodate the time to let me go to some places I wanted beyond the tour schedule. I really fell my money worth the tour and the little time I had was very well used. Thanks David.

A very complete and thorough overview of the Qin dynasty legacy. What a great your, I definitively recommend this visit. Even though most people visit Xi'an just for the Terracota Warriors, it has a lot to offer. We changed the schedule so we could give rain a chance to move away, as per recommendation from our tour guide, Ning Jerry, and it proved the best strategy. We did not get wet, and we are able to complete everything we wanted. By the end of the day, they dropped us at the Bell tower, and we still wandered through the Muslim Quarter, per his recommendation. He spoke perfect English, and is a very likeable person. We had a great day!

I would give this tour 10 stars!!! Andy picked me up from the hotel right on time turns out he was already there almost an hour ahead of time. The tour was supposed to be Xi'an old city walls - Lunch at a local farm - Terracotta army - Muslim street. As soon as he picked me up he greeted me and told me the plan. It was raining and he suggested we start with the Terracotta army since it's a closed place and see the rest afterwards. I told him I've been to the muslim street on the previous day on my own and he immediately suggested we go somewhere else instead if I wanted. He suggested to go to the Big wild goose pagoda which I wanted to visit myself anyway and I promptly agreed. On the way there he also arranged a free private tour in the Buddhist temple - what a nice touch! I had a very nice 1 hour tour with a local guide at the temple for free, as I said. I only had to pay 50RMB for the entrance, which I would have paid anyway. After the tour we drove to the farm for lunch in a private residence. Lunch was very good and the local people were very nice. I mentioned to him that my friends recommended I see the Tang dynasty show and he promptly offered to assist with buying the tickets for 300RMB instead of 438RMB which included the show and the dumplings banquet followed by it. It was an awesome show and the dumplings were delicious. Andy also offered to stay with me until everything was over and drive me back to my hotel - all this with no extra charge! After lunch we walked to the Terracotta army. Andy took his time and explained every one of the pits to me before going in and gave me as much time as I needed to explore each one. He was always near by to help with any questions I had. After that we continued to the city walls, where again I received an explanation on how/when/why they were built. Then I was driven to the awesome show, had a lot of dumplings and Andy was there to keep me company and take me to my hotel in the evening. All in all it was THE BEST tour I've ever had in my life! Well worth the money! Andy is such a nice guy, so accommodating and knowledgeable and speaks perfect English. He was even able to recommend more places I should visit during the time I had left in Xi'an. I ended up going to where he recommended and had an excellent time. There's no doubt that if I'll ever be in Xi'an again, Andy will be my first and only choice of a tour guide!
