Great day seeing the 8th wonder of the world

the morning was great and our guide Chelsea was really good at finding the right spots in what was a busy sightseeing day with lots and lots of people. Had a great time at lunch as well and overall really enjoyable trip (and good value considering transport cost and admission to the warriors). Even got a picture with the farmer who found the site. Thank you Chelsea for a fabulous day

This was a well organised and fascinating experience. Chelsea was knowledgeable and informative amd very clear. She had great recommendations for things on and off the tour. We took her advice on the Buddhist temple back near the bell tower afterwards which was cool. The timing and pace and appeal of this tour were all top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were also grateful to have booked at 11pm the previous night, probably because it was the low season.

We did not know that the tour operator had added a 40-minute side trip to a terracotta army statues factory/tourist trap on our way to the museum. Even though it was not a hard push for any sale at the factory, we were still not comfortable with that kind of arrangement. it was still time taken away from the touring museum itself. Or we could have gotten there earlier (smaller crowd) or left the area sooner (back to the city) for what we like to explore.

Nancy picked me up promptly at 8am & spoke excellent English. She explained the background to the site & gave various stories & anecdotes as we visited each of the three pits. We also stopped at a factory to see the process around how the warriors were made which was quite interesting. There was lots of time to take things at my own pace & get lots of photos. As an organised tour with an English guide it made the morning pass quickly & I felt I got a lot out of the experience.

The Terracotta Army experience would be difficult without a tour. Public transport and ticket purchase would be hard. Take the tour, it is well worth it!

Great experience but poorly organized tour company

Terracotta warriors was incredible but the tour was poorly organized. The driver picked up the wrong person at my hotel because he didn’t check the name. I was stranded until I got in contact with the organizer and they came back to drop the other person off and pick me up. He probably missed his tour because of this, when I was waiting there was another tour pickup looking for someone who couldn’t be found. The low rating on this is due to the driver’s error, checking names of people he’s picking up is the bare minimum and someone else missed their tour to no fault of their own or the tour company he booked with. The actual experience was pretty cool, the excavation sites are massive but it is very crowded and difficult to get around as a result. I would definitely recommend the Terra-cotta warriors but not in peak season and probably not with this tour company.

Sorry about this, the driver should check the customer name,but he did not then waste time and bring trouble for all of tourists. Very sorry obout this, we will improve this situation.

I selected a pick-up time of 8:30, but was ready by 8 just in case the guide was early, as other reviews have suggested. Instead, our guide arrived late, at around 9, and walked us to the bus, where most of the group was already waiting. We then waited in the bus until about 9:40 for the final member to arrive before we could leave. (Maybe that member had selected the 9:30 pick-up time? The pick-up slot system for this tour really needs to change). It then took us around 1h20m to drive to the terracotta warriors, and another half an hour to get in due to queues (we were inside by 11:30). The tour itself was good, and our guide was very informative and told us lots of interesting facts about the history. However, we did not spend 2h30m at the site, as advertised. We spent just 1 hour walking around the 3 buildings of the terracotta warriors complex. After this, our group was taken to see the farmer who first discovered the warriors. We were told that normally we would have an hour or so to explore the area around and eat lunch (it was around 12:45 PM at this time), but instead we had to leave after only 15 minutes, as somebody else in the group had booked a flight and we were going to drive her to the taxi stop in Xi'an. I.e., rather than ask her to her take a taxi directly from the terracotta warriors site, which is absolutely possible, they decided to cut the tour short for the rest of our group instead, leaving us no time to get food (or souvenirs). When we got back to Xi'an, at something like 2:30 PM, there was no "optional tour of the Muslim quarter" either, since our guide got out at the City Wall with some other members of the group who requested to stop there.

Hi! Very sorry about that,in fact, this is group tour tourist stay in different hotel,so pick up time is different. But some time if it is a bigger group some hotel pick up is delay.Obout other problem in the group,we will go to confirm with tourist about their flight or train,then arrange advance. Bad organization

I was supposed to be picked up from my hotel at 8 but the guide showed up 15 minutes late and said that we needed to wait for another person. After about 20 more minutes of waiting, he realized that he was waiting at the wrong hotel. We drove some 10-15 more minutes and I joined 6 others who were already there. But we all had to sit in the car for about 30 more minutes because we were still waiting for one more person. By the time we actually left for the tour, it was 9:20. Isn’t there a policy for not waiting for people who are late?

Great way to see the warriors

We really enjoyed our morning visiting the Terra-cotta warriors. We were picked up on time and given comfortable transportation to the site. Our guide was really good and explained a lot about the origins of the warriors. On the way back we weren’t rushed or pressured into a shop or anything like that. Got back to Xian about 2pm. A really good day out.

The Terracotta Warriors is a must see when in Xi’an. The sight is awesome. However, the hour ride there and back were not very comfortable in the packed 7 seater. The museum was super crowded and I wasn’t very impressed with the guide’s sharing. Pretty much similar to what you would get online.

Chelsea was a good guide! The only bad thing is that I had booked for 9:30am and she was in my lobby 8:40am so I felt very hurried, and at the end of the tour back to de Muslim quarter we had no explanation about the place.
