Booking process is easy and smooth. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Communication was great. Plus, the english tour guide we had in china was fantastic! Our tour was on 9th April. He was very knowledgeable and have had many years experience. At the end of the tour he also showed us a restaurant with good variety of authentic Xi'an food, and we had lunch there. We had great experience. Thanks to Viator staff and our tour guide giving us a happy visit in Xi'an.

Excellent tour! Wangkai was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the Terracotta warriors and their history. He helped us navigate the large crowds and ran the tour at a good pace, focusing on the important parts. I would definitely recommend Wangkai and this tour, thanks for teaching us the culture and history!

The Terracotta Warriors themselves were incredible to see and absolutely worth visiting. However, the tour experience could have been smoother. Our guide repeated the same information several times, which made the tour feel a bit drawn out and left us thinking a self-guided visit might have been just as good.
We also had difficulty finding our guide at the start — there were no clear instructions on where to meet, and we waited over 30 minutes before finally being contacted. Clearer communication and better organization would have made a big difference.

It was an incredible experience. My guide AURORA was great. Patient, clear explanations. Good recommendations. I hosnestly loved spending afternoon with her. Terraccota soldier's were magnificent. Impressed by the good preservation aspect despite the centuries. Well done.

Alice was the perfect guide for us, we wanted assistance with tickets and the best way to see the many different dig areas, but we didn’t need transport or to see any other attractions. She is knowledgeable and presented the site in a very clear way, and was able to answer our questions, even when they were about other periods of history. Lunch was optional, which we appreciated, but the place she recommended was delicious and reasonable. The tour company provided excellent communication and easily helped us reschedule when we had a change of days. This place is huge, chaotic, crowded, and I could see having a bad time visiting and missing things if you came on your own. . We are very happy we chose to book with this company, our experience was outstanding!

I had a truly exceptional afternoon tour of the Terracotta Warriors, made even more memorable thanks to Freya — one of the most friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging guides I’ve ever met. Due to some travel complications, I arrived late and was the only guest in the group that day, but Freya couldn’t have been more understanding and gracious.
She delivered a thorough, insightful, and well-structured explanation of the Terracotta Warriors exhibit, and her passion for the history of the site was both evident and contagious. She was also incredibly approachable and happy to answer any additional questions I had throughout the visit.
If I ever return to Xi’an, I would 100% want Freya as my guide again. Her depth of knowledge and thoughtful approach to the tour made it a standout experience. Absolutely a 10/10 — I highly recommend booking this tour if you’re visiting Xi’an!

We had a great tour of the terra-cotta warriors. The tour company was responsive, we were able to contact the tour guide via WeChat prior to the tour. Wangkai did a great job with overview of the history and described the pits in detail. After the tour, we were brought to a few gift shops. We would have preferred if the tour guide had asked if we wanted to go to gift shops prior to leading us there. Overall, this was a solid tour.

Excellent tour of Terracotta Warriors Museum! The terracotta warriors are of course a must-see, not only in Xian but the whole of China, so we opted for a private tour to guide us.
Our tour guide was Cynthia, who was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English.
If you are looking for a great, 2-hour crash course, look no further.

She walked us through the main exhibitions of the terracotta army and highlighted the most important information as well as answered our many questions. Good tour but tour guide cared much more about selling us items. Had to tell him 4 times I did not want to meet the ‘farmer’ in which we finally left him. Would recommend for the tour but not his experience.

The tour doesn't include hotel pick up, it is easy to get to the meeting point at the museum ticket office. Our tour guide, Chelsea was there to meet us and we were provided her contact details in advance. Chelsea was very knowledgeable, articulate, friendly and very patient. Having our own guide in the madness of the hustle bustle of the museum (so many tourists), it was well worth doing. There are English speaking guides touting at the museum ticket office but if you want to avoid the hassle of haggling and with this tour, if you get Chelsea, this is definitely the option to take.

Very informative and tour guide did a great job in English explaining to us the history. In addition altho we went during the national holiday and it was super packed, the guide knew how to push and help us skip through the waves of people and see everything in a timely manner. One critique is our guide did try to push a little for us to buy things at the museum.

When I was a child, I saw the movie 'The Mummy 3" and this was part of it. The lore from then certainly was captured when I saw these statues in person. It was magnificent. Great work has been done to excavat these and much more has to be done, however, what has been unearthed is for the eyes to see. Highly would recommend going. Chelsea was friendly and warm as well. Although lunch was not provided, she took us to a restaurant nearby to eat and was great.

The upsides: tour guide found us in a crowd of thousands easily, small group of only three, guide was knowledgeable and English was very good. She had some good accompanying stories to tell.
The downsides: maybe we were confused about which tour we were booking but wanted the tour with private pit access. Guide didn’t know anything about this. And, to us the tour was rushed. For us this was a once in a lifetime trip and we wanted to see as much as we could and take lots of photos but seemed always rushed

Our tour guide, Peter, was excellent! He met us outside the museum, helped us with our tickets and gave us a mini headset to wear to hear him more clearly on our tour. He knew the best spots to have photos, was incredibly knowledgable and had excellent English to make our tour really memorable! Thank you for a great experience!

Thank you to Christina for being the greatest tour guide we could have hoped for. 100% would recommend her tours to everyone who visits the terracotta warriors. Hands down would not have gotten anywhere near as much out of visiting the historic sight without her incredible in-depth knowledge of the history, artefacts and current archeological developments. Definitely would recommend her tours to everyone.

The tour was excellent they meet you at the front, you walk in with them. Nancy, our tour guide was super informative and I loved being able to ask questions and listen. This is something I’ve been really excited to do for so long. If you get a chance it’s worth it. There will be many people. Breathe and remember everyone wants to visit because it is the “8th wonder” but, I would definitely wait until off-season. Also, there’s a great treat at the end of the tour I wasn’t expecting. Have a great time! Try the food and tea at one of the places Nancy recommends you won’t be disappointed!
