This was hands down one of the best excursions I’ve been on and is absolutely worth your time and money. We had a beautiful day of weather which also helped. You get to see so many beautiful locations around Portland and the guides were very kind and knowledgeable. It was very easy and convenient to find once off the ship as well. Cannot say enough good things about this trip. Book it! You won’t regret it!

Given the few hours our ship was in port, we were able to visit many of the sights on the Portland peninsula that most visitors miss. It was a much better choice than spending those few hours entirely on a bus, only to hop out, shoot a couple quick photos, and get back on the bus. Our guide Nick, gave the two of us a more personal tour than would be possible with a larger bus tour.

We had a fantastic experience with our guides sharing beautiful scenery, historical factoids and memory making!

What a great experience being able to take an E-Bike all about Portland. The views were amazing and worth the 1,000 foot climb to the heights of Portland. Nick was a great communicator through the entire process, from booking to the day of the ride. Andrew and Carolyn were expert guides along with Nick. I have not ridden a bike in some time and was able to catch on to riding an E-bike pretty quickly. If you have a chance to practice in advance of your tour, it will make the start of your ride a bit smoother. That said, it didn’t stop me. If you get the chance to take this tour, you should do it!

Nick and John were fabulous guides on our bike tour. They had a thorough knowledge of the area and made the ride totally enjoyable. Would highly recommend a bike tour with them.

Our tour was in October.
We started our tour at Portland castle that we got to see at the end of the tour. The shuttle bus that we took at the port only took a few minutes to get to Portland Castle which was the firat stop. Our tour guide, Peter and is wife Michelle were very knowledgeable of the area, but most of all they were caring and succeeded in helping us feel mat home in a foreign land. I'm a very healthy 86-year-old and a little after the first half of the tour my wife and I felt a little tired and Michelle offered to take us in her car to the rest of the stops (two more). The pub or small restaurant had tasty local food and excellent service. The views were stunning, and the rock quarry art was particularly interesting. Peter ushered us into a quaint church building where we were the only tour group there. I even had my picture taken from the pulpit! Pebble beach may not look like much in pictures, but the pebbles are bigger that you might think, and the expanse of the beach and the view is unique. If you have never used an electric bike, Peter will give an introduction to e bikes and let you practice. I am 86 years old and had never ridden an e-bike, but I found it was not that difficult.
If you want an active tour with interesting sites to visit and excellent guides, then this bike tour is for you.

Loved this activity! I was a little nervous since I don’t spend a lot of time biking and hills are always a challenge for me. These were quality e-bikes and you get started on top of the hill so there are only some ups and one big downhill. Nothing the bike can’t handle. Peter and Michelle are awesome guides and do a good job assessing the ability level of the group. Lunch stop food was awesome, views amazing, quirky stops, and cool beach. Would love to do another biking adventure with Peter and Michelle. Highlight of our trip so far.

Peter and Michelle were really great! This was our favorite outing on our 10 day cruise. They were fun, knowledgeable and so kind. The bikes were great and although we are 65 and just average bike riders we were completely comfortable on this trip. They made sure that we were as safe as possible at all times and showed us spectacular sights of Portland. They treated us to lunch at a fun seaside restaurant… my cranberry Brie sandwich was awesome … and they treated us at an English Pub at the end of our journey. Michelle was so great about documenting our journey with great pictures that she shared with us at the end of the trip for no addltional charge. I would highly recommend taking this trip… we loved it! Wish I could leave a few pictures of our trip… but I guess I am not techie enough to figure it out.

If you want to make the most of your time in Portland - book THIS tour!! Peter & Michelle are LOVELY tour guides, they will take super good care of you and you will absolutely LOVE this tour. My husband & I haven't been on bikes in DECADES and yet we felt 100% comfortable riding these bikes! Peter sends meet up/pick up instructions 1-2 days in advance of the tour, which were 100% spot on BTW (we came on a cruise ship). They spend time fitting helmets, letting you get used to the bikes, make sure the bikes fit "just right" for your size, etc. You will see more of Portland via this E-Bike Tour than any other tour option out there!! Lots of laughs, lots of sites to see & lots & lots of photos are taken on your behalf and then given to you at the end of your journey. You will feel 100% rejuvenated & 100% "alive" on this tour & 100% safe!!
There is a nice lunch served (you get to choose your meal), plenty of "breaks" in between sites, we saw things "off the radar", there's no rushing, they provide water bottles, sunscreen, etc. (the things you don't think to bring!), and it's a WONDERFUL tour!
You end at a local pub for a soft drink, beer or cider, but not before having the opportunity to see one of the most beautiful rock beaches EVER! WHAT A FANTASTIC TOUR!!!! If we ever go back to Portland, we most certainly will do this again!!! Many thanks, Peter & Michelle

This was probably the best excursion we did in Europe. We were never on e-bikes before so we gave it a go. What a beautiful day, it’s easy and safe. We saw more than any bus tour could give you. Peter and Michelle were so nice and friendly and enthusiastic with this trip. If you can ride a bike, go and take this trip.

our bikes broke down, even though they were new. needed to be picked up by one of the tour guides. felt as we were patronized as we were doing so good for our age. I ride 50 miles a week on the streets without an E bike and swim 3 times a week. Wife also rides almost daily and felt the same way. Strangely he was only a few years younger than my wife

Thank you for your review, as an operator we will always try our best to ensure that all equipment are in great condition, unfortunately sometimes even with our best efforts new equipment can become faulty. We are also very passionate about cycling and dishing out compliments and being over caring is just something we naturally do, please note that we never praise anybody with the intension to patronise them, but we do understand your perspective and there’s definitely always room for improvement.

We were a family and friends group of 8 (4 older teens included). This excursion around all of Portland surpassed our expectations, so much so that it rivaled the e-bike tour we did around the Rome countryside. Peter and Michelle really looked after all the details carefully and were so friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the great views, historical sights brunch along the seaside, the wondrous Chesil beach which is a freak of nature, and finally a pint at the local pub.

One of the best cycling tours we have had on vacation. The cycling was at the right pace, the e-bikes were adjusted to fit us and the day went fast. Peter and his wife were excellent tour guides and the combination of cycling with a little bit of hiking was just right. Food at a local coffee shop during the tour was great. If you are on the fence about this tour, just do it. It is a great way to see Portland.

It was a perfect combination of biking and some hiking. The e-bikes are top notch. The isle of Portland is a beautiful and fascination little place and Peter did a great job of showing it to us.

My family of 5 truly enjoyed, Peter and Michelle's eBike tour of Portland, UK. They are so knowledgeable and inspiring to listen to, from their stories about Portland and more. We saw all the highlights and what's special about Portland in less than 6 hours. The lunch choices included are amazing delicious. I highly recommend this tour.

An absolutely amazing day! Our guides were absolutely wonderful & took us to see the most interesting sights on this island. I don’t think we would have enjoyed this island nearly as much if we’d done anything else ! This is a must do way to spend your day. Amazing sights, great lunch & would definitely do this again.

This was a great tour. Peter and his wife (tour group leaders) were supportive, friendly, funny, flexible, informative throughout the 4 hour tour, enthusiastically sharing their love of e-biking and the gorgeous Portsmouth countryside. They began by easing our concerns about mastering e-bikes (nothing to be concerned about if you have ever ridden any sort of bike). The bike riding was punctuated by several on-your-own walking tours on cliff paths, art parks and beaches and a wonderful lunch. There were 7 of us on this particular tour, all enjoying each other's company and feeling good about ourselves (cheered on by our easygoing tour leaders). There were things to see and learn about along the way, but the day was more about the scenery and comradery (and, for me, falling in love with e-bikes). I can't think of a better way to spend a day.

Peter & Michelle were very accommodating and equipment was in excellent condition. I had unexpected shoulder surgery from time tour was scheduled until actual tour and was unable to ride a bike. Michelle took me in her vehicle and we got to experience this charming town and not miss a thing. Our group had a great experience and would highly recommend this guided e-bike tour.

What an amazing day! Peter and Michelle took such great care of my family (17 & 14) —best day!! Lunch was incredible, and the whole trip was easy and fun. Thanks!

Couldn't have been a nicer day! The three guides are nice, patient and very willing to help when help was needed. They are very safety conscious. Lunch was delicious! Views were breathtaking! Equipment was extremely well maintained!

Peter and Michelle were amazing tour guides and their e-bikes made the trip effortlessly. We completely enjoyed our day riding around Portland.
Paul_R, May 2023
The design of this tour was simply not for first-time e-bike people. Therefore, I am approaching this review as a cautionary tale to others. The tour began with a MAJOR hill climb on a well-trafficked, winding, narrow road. This was completely intimidating and unnerving for us. Following two members’ accidents (one causing injuries), we were riding next on a narrow, rocky, rotted trail featuring very narrow passages and a serious downhill run (which several of us had to walk our e-bikes down). After a town walk break, the next leg was through town and down a busy road to the lighthouses. Again, this was riding in major traffic and was truly frightening. Lunch at the Lobster Pot was quite nice, and we did appreciate this being a provided feature of the tour. This was the end of the tour for us, and the tour operators provided a ride back to the cruise bus stop, which was nice.
We consider ourselves to be reasonably capable and in decent physical shape, but this tour was far too difficult and treacherous for us. If you’re an experienced biker and not afraid of traffic and rough trails, this might be good for you. It was not a good experience for us.
