Easy ride, super helpful and patient staff. Good quality bikes. They have helmets and windbreaker/hi-vis jackets to use. Our guide knew a lot about the history of Wellington. Safety was very important to all. I really enjoyed the experience.

The tour was a lot of fun. The E-bikes were easy to ride and they provided very clear instructions. There are a lot of bike paths so you don’t have to ride in the road. The views were spectacular. Denny was our guide and he was very nice and very patient with us. I would highly recommend this tour.

Itinerary

Meet your guide and group on Queens Wharf in central Wellington. After listening to the safety briefing, learn how to operate your electric bike and enjoy time to practice in a safe area before heading out.

Once you’re feeling comfortable, saddle up for a fun bike tour of Wellington, and follow your guide along the Wellington Waterfront. Glide along the seafront, passing the lively port and harbor, and the beaches of Oriental Bay.

Continue along the Miramar Peninsula and leave the bustle of the city behind as you cycle along the scenic coast. Pause along the way at a local café, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy a coffee or purchase sandwiches and cakes (own expense), before looping back towards the city.

Your tour ends back in central Wellington by mid-afternoon.

Biking around Wellington, what could be better? I was worried because I am not an experienced cyclist, nor am I in great shape however, the E bike was perfect even on the uphill areas. My guide Stephanie was wonderful. She was full of interesting information about Wellington as she is from here and was funny and very sweet. I truly enjoyed this activity. I would suggest doing this on one of your first days in Wellington so that you can see so many sites and get an idea where everything is. On a clear day at the top of the mountain you can see all of Wellington. At the end we enjoyed an ice team at the pier. This is such an amazing place!

Fun day. The hill to the water tanks was challenging. Need to be in reasonable physical shape. Experience on an e-bike helps. Tara our guide was really good

A Challenge But Outstanding Ride

Susan_W, Feb 2026
Be prepared for a challenging ascent uphill to the water towers. Make sure in turbo power and then enjoy reaching the top for a fantastic view. The wind gusts around the Bay Area on the way back were very strong but our guides were fantastic, giving us suggestions, guidance and assistance when needed.

Great Experience

No Brass Ring but a Full Refund 👍

We didn’t get a chance to take the E bike ride because of heavy rains, but they were very accommodating and gave us a full refund without any question that alone requires a recommendation

This was a great bike ride. Went up to the water tanks and had a wonderful view. Ebikes are awesome. Pedal as much or as little as you want. It was pretty windy - when it was a side wind you really had to careful but the guide warned us of this. Don’t hesitate to- easy and great ride with an e-bike.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

We agree, eBikes are awesome! Great to hear that they helped you to experience Wellington's wind and hills confidently!

Perfect way to see Wellington!

Michael_B, Mar 2025
We completed the 3-4 hour e-bike tour of Wellington. It was absolutely stunning and our host really made the trip by providing great historic insights along the way which kept it both fun and educational. We covered 23km which is easy on the e-bike tour and took in some stunning views of Wellington and it's surroundings. Could not recommend this trip high enough!

Stunning Views & Great Guides

Awesome tour. Tara our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. She made sure everyone was comfortable riding as a group. She fixed my bike during the ride after I got loose on the pump track! Lots of interesting information about Wellington. European aspects and Māori legends. Highly recommended.

A great way to have a look around Wellington with guides who have good knowledge of the area and its history. The 2 Jack’s were great guys and were funny while being serious about safety and making sure everyone was having a fun ride. We had a calm day it would be when windy Wellington was at its best! The icecream at the end was an unexpected bonus - passion fruit flavour well worth it!

Very fun!

A wonderful experience!!!! Great ride with great commentary. It was a very windy day, which made it an interesting challenge and a lot more fun. Highly recommended.

Perfect Wellington experience.

Jamie_H, Nov 2024
Such a fun experience. Jack was the best guide ever and riding the bikes was much easier than I expected. Great insights into the city and beautiful views from each stop.

Great bike ride

Nigel_F, Nov 2024
Jack was a great and knowledgeable guide. We were lucky to only have four in our group, all of similar cycling ability so all went really smoothly and we managed to reach the top of the hill for some fantastic views. Stopped for amazing ice cream in the way back, included in the price. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect day

Ligia_D, Oct 2024
From start to finish awesome fun! Our guide made the tour very enjoyable by sharing local knowledge and personal anecdotes. The bike ride was easy, one of us is a fit 80 year old who is not used to riding a bike and had little trouble climbing and going down the hill at the end of the tour. From the top of the hill the scenery is stunning on a sunny day :-)

Windy Windy Windy

Voncile_D, Apr 2024
When they say Wellington is the windiest city in the world, BELIEVE IT. The trip out was easy with a little hill at the end that provided great views. Our guides took lots of pictures for us. The way back to the meeting point was an adventure. The winds kicked up and we had to put the eBikes in turbo mode (on flat ground) just to be able to keep going. Several people had to stop and walk their bike until we turned the corner and winds died down - - some. Our guides did a good job of leading and tailing to ensure no one was left behind. The wind was so strong, even our female guide fell over from the wind. If you are not extremely comfortable on a bicycle, don't do it.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Sounds like you had a very blustery day! We're happy the bikes held their own on Turbo for what seems like an adventure.

Great ride

Paul_B, Mar 2024
Liam & Christian were informative and helpful. Great ride around windy Wellington with lots to take in.

Enjoyed and recommended
