We had the most amazing day exploring Sandwich Harbour and the dunes around there. We went early in the morning before sunrise, and got some magical views over the dunes. We also spotted a great deal of wildlife, which we didn't expect. JP and Jacques were such great hosts and they went above and beyond to give us a great experience. We couldn't recommend this excursion more! This was the highlight of our Namibia trip and it's a day we will remember forever.

Walvis Bay during a West Africa cruise

My husband and I were on a cruise with stop in Walvis Bay, Namibia, and we can’t recommend Red Dune Safaris and JP enough. Despite our delayed disembarking due to immigration process, JP was waiting for us patiently, managed to deliver the full 5hrs tour, and take us back on time. The tour was amazing, we saw jackals, desert geckos, flamingos, pelicans seals, and gemsboks. The landscapes we visited were amazing, and JP a very safe driver. Car was great, and the snacks with sparkling wine luxurious. My only suggestion to Red Dune Safaris to make it perfect would be to provide in the future a portable type of camping toilet tent for privacy.

The nature is always great and in sandwich harbour the result is great. Our guide, JP, was very nice and generally gave us many information. Having said that two things didn’t work: 1) the excursion said oysters for lunch, which were not provided. We had food but if you state something I expect to be there. 2). Overall the pricing is too much. When you get to Namibia you can find much cheaper options for the same tour

Please send me a picture where it says that I serve oysters for lunch, because that information is not correct, I have not served oysters for 6 years now, so please send me the proof where you see that. Regarding the pricing, Viator takes 30% commission, therefore the price is higher here than on my own website in order to accommodate Viators commission. If someone books on my website directly then they will pay a market related price for the tour.

Meeting at the starting location could not have been easier. Good communication prior to the tour date too. If you're early you have all the Flamingos on earth to keep you company. JP was an exceptional guide with some tid-bit to share every few thousand feet, for hours. The trip to the dunes involves a little game spotting, which was a pleasant surprise. The Dunes don't disappoint!

An Exhilarating Day on the Dunes

Our day with Wolfgang was awesome! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! The drive to the dunes is wonderful…flamingos, seals, salt lakes, antelope, geckos, but the real deal is climbing and descending those dunes. Talk about a whopping good time!! Surfside lunch with pink Champaign was lovely. This was the best excursion so far on our World Cruise! Highly recommend!!

Fun and Safe Dunes Tour with Red Dune Safari

As international visitors it was important for us to find a safe, experienced, and fun guide when touring Walvis Bay and the surrounding dunes, salt pans, and nature areas. JP with Red Dunes Safari was just that. He is easy going, knowledgeable, and fun to tour with. His operation is extremely safe and professional and we enjoyed every minute. From climbing sand dunes in the Land Rover to game viewing and a fantastic lunch this tour exceeded our expectations and one we will be recommending to family and friends who visit the area. JP is the best, skip the rest.

Beautiful views and experience

We enjoyed our visit to sandwich Bay. Beautiful dunes the view to the sea finding a Geco in the sand ostrich with their babies seals dead and alive. Most of all Hans our guide he dies his work with passion.

Magical day on the dunes

Wonderful Surpise

Highly recommended. Amazing day and great value. The drivers were knowledgeable and cared about the environment. The scenery is stunning with wild seas, epic beach drives and sand dunes that are spectacular. We won't spoil the surprise ....suffice to say it was both funny but fun! Great lunch and worthwhile day out.

A must do trip

Excellent. Our guide, Leroy, was very knowledgable and clearly loves what he does. He was keen to ensure we got the best from the tour. The dunes are actually quite high and steep in places but at no time did we feel unsafe. Leroy ensured we were comfortable throughout the tour. Plenty of opportunities to get out of the car to take pictures, stretch your legs and walk the dunes. The snacks were delicious, a lot of effort had been put into these along with the drinks provided. Thank you for such an enjoyable morning.
