This was a not to be missed experience! The scenery, the wildlife and the dune ride (plus the delightful “picnic”) made this an amazing experience. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable and very helpful.

If you have the chance to visit Walvis Bay, don’t miss the tour to Sandwich Harbour, located less than 60 km south of the city in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. As a permit is required to enter the park, I booked my excursion with MC Tours via Viator. My guide, André, shared fascinating insights about the area’s history and wildlife. We spotted springbok, geckos, and a remarkable variety of birds.
André is also an exceptional driver, skilfully navigating some of the world’s highest dunes—an unforgettable and dramatic landscape. From the top of the dunes, we enjoyed breathtaking views over the picturesque lagoon. The tour ended with a delicious picnic on the crest of a dune, the perfect way to conclude this unique experience.

I can't recommend this tour enough! We booked this as an independent 1/2 day tour from our Cruise Ship. There were both am & pm tours available, we initially booked for the 12.30pm slot but once we received our itinerary, whilst on board, I realised that we needed to be back on the ship by 5.30pm. I contacted MC Tours and they immediately offered us a morning slot to allay my concerns. Regardless of where the ship berths they pick you up from there (make sure you let them know which ship you are on as there can be up to 3 in port).
We were split into groups of 4 and all vehicles left at the same time. Michael (owner) was our driver and he was fantastic. He gave us great information throughout the duration, sought out the wildlife for us to see and photograph, including Oryx, Springbock & a Jackal. All drivers kept in touch with one another via radio, ensuring that the whole group has the opportunity to see these and other animals.
We were provided with a fantastic Champagne Picnic overlooking the sea and afterwards had an exhilarating drive back through the largest dunes.
This is one of the most professional tours we have been on and better than anything the Cruise Ships can offer at a fraction of the price

The best time ever, Michael was so informative and amusing, we saw flamingos, pelicans and many other sea birds, we did not expect to see any mammals, but Michael found Gemsbok, Springboard and a black backed jackal, as well as treating us to a fun drive up, over and down the dunes, and a delicious picnic with champagne, with a view to die for, an excellent experience, we loved it, thank you.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Our guide was very informative, polite and friendly. This was our first independent trip during our cruise and we were a bit apprehensive but the guide was at the port waiting with our names on display as arranged. Stunning scenery along the coastline and the sand dunes were spectacular and very steep as we drove up and down them! Alfresco lunch at the top of a sand dune was lovely. You won't be disappointed.

We had a fabulous tour with the best guide Andre; so much knowledge of the history of the whole area. The sand dunes were stunning and his expert driving up and down them was incredible; felt so safe and the roller coaster like drive was truly memorable! Very well maintained 4 x 4.
Picnic on the beach was included. Collected us from ship efficiently at the agreed time and dropped us back several hours later. Highly recommend and thanks to Michael for arranging.

Wow! What an incredible adventure! We enjoyed seeing the flamingos and the pink lake, but of course, the highlight of the day was driving through the sand dunes! Martin was an excellent driver - made for an exciting but safe ride. We saw fur seals, an elephant seal, and whales in the distance. After a delicious meal and a glass (or two) of sparkling wine, we spotted a springbok on our return drive. Highly recommend this excursion if you visit Namibia!

It was an amazing experience, from booking to the actual activity. First of all, I booked an 8:30 am trip at 10 pm the previous day, provided my accommodation address, and without any back and forth, the driver appeared even before the scheduled time.
The driver was entertaining, and the ride itself was pretty exciting. It was unbelievable how steep a car can go. It felt a bit like a roller coaster. The scenery was beautiful, and we also saw wild animals.
The driver also gave me tips on how to get to Pelican Point on my own. I don’t think I would have decided to take that road without his explanations and advice.

Amazing experience. Andrew has loads of energy, passion and knowledge to make the experience fun and interesting. Driving on the dunes where the desert meets the ocean is a life experience and you will enjoy spectacular scenery. The picnic and "on board" open bar where nice touch, much appreciated.

The Sandwich Harbour 4x4 tour was the perfect mix of adventure and scenery. Our guide, Andrei, made the whole experience unforgettable—super friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. He handled the dunes like a pro and shared so many cool facts about the landscape and wildlife. Driving along the edge where the desert meets the ocean was breathtaking, and the picnic with meat and drinks was such a nice touch. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Walvis Bay or Swakopmund.

The views were absolutely breathtaking, something truly otherworldly. A huge thanks to Michael who was nothing short of amazing. Hands down the best guide I’ve ever had - so informative and genuinely passionate about what he does. He made sure we enjoyed every moment (and we absolutely did!), always finding the best spots and making everything feel completely effortless. While we were admiring the views, Michael set up a beautiful table in seconds - like a magician! The freshly made snacks and meats were the perfect finishing touch to the whole experience. But what I’ll remember most? Michael digging for a gecko like a total pro. It was better than watching David Attenborough’s programs! Thank you, Michael and Chantelle. This small group tour was amazing! We were two hours late departing our ship, and the guides waited patiently. Our driver was pleasant, friendly, and super informative. The dunes ride was exhilarating. We always felt safe and in good hands. The “snacks” were a nice surprise: heavy hors d’oeuvres, beautiful South African wine, sodas, and beer. Michael (company owner) took personal care to make sure everyone had a perfect day. Lots of photo stops made it a day to remember!

Mike was a great host & guide. He took us on a tour of Walvis Bay and the nearby salt mill. The off-road experience in the sand dunes was incredible. Multiple stops for pictures and view-points. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch picnic including Tafel beer and rose bubbles.
