We were lucky enough to have a private tour with CJ and he did such an amazing job in showing us around. We got the tour started earlier which allowed us to beat other guides to the best spots and even visit a spot which was CJ’s favorite and usually untouched. We also saw a lot more animals than expected, so that was a nice additive. The views themselves are even better than what you can imagine and what you’ve seen online. However, CJs knowledge and navigation was the highlight of the tour.

There are so many options for a Sandwich Harbour tour, but I’m so happy we chose MNG Tour.
Our guide, CJ, was amazing and truly went above and beyond. One of the best things about the tour was his timing. He knew exactly when the popular spots would get busy and managed to get us to the viewpoints before they were swamped. At both stops, we were the first ones there, and by the time we were leaving, the big tour groups were just arriving. Having those views to ourselves made a huge difference.
A few highlights:
• The Dunes: CJ’s driving through the dunes was exhilarating but we always felt completely safe.
• Sand Boarding: This was so much fun! It was an extremely hot day, and CJ made sure we knew exactly what to look out for to stay safe on the sand.
• The Picnic: We saved the picnic for the end, and it was the perfect way to finish. The food and drinks were delicious, and you can’t beat the view of the ocean meeting the desert.
• The Photos: CJ even took cool videos of us and was constantly making sure we were happy and comfortable.
CJ is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and you can tell he really cares about his customers.
It’s great value for the price, and we would pick MNG Tour again in a heartbeat. 10/10!

The sand dunes and the experience of being up there is amazing.
The tour needs to be recalculated, as the driver was speeding, the snacks was below average and all our stops were made in a rush.

A really thrilling experience which allowed us to enjoy some animal sightings while driving up and down the dunes
Only negative being a rather nasty aroma at the start when passing a very large salt mine

First of all we were told the company would be waiting port side with a board with our name on it. That didn't happen and had to search for the company.
The vehicle uses was not comfortable for the people in the back seats. Very squashed having three people on the back seat for at least three hours drive.
Talking about the dunes. They were great and a lovely experience. However we were in convoy with thirteen other vehicles so the experience was tainted. We were given drinks and food but the volume of people all diving in for drinks and food spoiled the occasion. We saw wildlife which was amazing. The journey to and from the dunes was long a very bumpy so please take note!

Unfortunately management had very poor communication and the tour started over an hour late. After a back and forth with management we got in the 4x4s and the guides went out of their way to make up and lift the mood. The scenery, the drive, all the information they shared were excellent! Our guide stopped wherever we asked so we could take photos. What started as a not so great experience ended in the top outing for our 3 week tour!

AMAZING tour! I can’t recommend enough for this tour-100% recommended. Our tour guide/driver: Enrico is top notch driver. The staff was on time to meet us at the cruise terminal. Communication is excellent. Tour provider was giving us updates and meet us where they promised. Our tour experience exceeded our expectations. MNG and Viator are amazing tour providers.

This is a fantastic tour of Sandwich Harbor, led by our wonderful driver CJ. He was not only a very safe driver over the dunes, but he is also very knowledgeable of the ecosystem. The beauty of this place is overwhelming, and a picnic on the dunes will be remembered by us for a long time. The company kept in constant contact with us before the tour, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable experience: picturesque views and real 4x4 ride over the dunes along the ocean, nice lunch on the top of the dune and funny sand boarding, picturesque pink salt lakes with flamingos and beach ride viewing cormorants, seal, jackal and even dead whale on the beach, and more.
Special thanks to the driver guide Vernon for his driving skills, organizing the route with stops in right places - "reception and office", and of course serving lunch with champagne! Well done Vernon!
Resuming it is a highly recommend activity.

It’s an exciting drive through the harsh yet stunning environment of Nambia desert, more like an adventure with National Geographic. Driving up and down massive dunes with a 4x4 car with a seasoned driver . Seeing wildlife in the desert in their natural environment. Plus having a lunch on the beach with towering dunes in the background . This was an adventure that I will forget !

This was a wonderful experience, thoughtfully curated, and one of a kind. It felt like we were with the King of Dune Driver! He spotted several animals with the naked eye, shared meaningful information about the landscape, and made sure we didn't simply follow the crowd! Our guide CJ was admired by the other guides obviously well respected within the community of tour guides/drivers! At no point was I worried about being trapped or stuck as we surfed the sands of the Namibian coast! Definitely a core memory.

The people were excellent. We had a great time seeing the dunes, beaches. Salt flats, animals, very informative without feeling like a lecture. They answered any and all questions. The tour makes sure they are back before the ship time. So if you have longer on shore you get to see more.

We arrived by cruise. The tour was supposed to start at 830 however we did not get off the cruise ship until 1130am. They waited and we were able to have our tour and to see everything. Awesome experience but we definitely did not enjoy all the flies at the harbour which is not in the tours control of course.

They are super response ( use WhatsApp), prompt, clever to know how to avoid the endless other 4x4’s. Smart in driving ( knowing the tides, avoiding quicksand, understanding the potential sand dune problems especially on the steepest grades.) They contacted us in advance to know our preferences for lunch which was wonderful (skewered beef, meatballs, empanada type finger food as well as other local finger foods, fruit, etc.). Don’t use any one else—this family owned company is awesome.

A good tour - CJ was our guide, we felt very safe in his hands. Descending the steep hills was a big thrill, the views and landscape are unique and amazing. Light lunch snacks and a cold beer on the beach was really nice. Sadly the animals we’re hiding from us and we couldn’t stop by the pink lakes, but still a truly memorable experience.

Lance was a talented driver and well versed in local flora, fauna and mineralogy. The six seater Toyota 4x4 SUV was fine for all except for the two relegated to the 3rd row of seats. The drive out along the beach sand below the dunes was beautiful, ending in an impressive buffet lunch set out for our caravan of 5 vehicles. What came next was an "e-ticket" adventure, driving high into the dunes, then descending what seemed like vertical drops, repeated several times. Most loved this thilling experience but it's not for everyone. Those not comfortable this type of thing should inquire about a back and forth along the sand, only available at low tide. On the return we spotted an Oryx, Namibia's national animal, and stopped at the top of a hill to give those who wanted to try sand sledding a go. Four went out of 20 or so of us but we didn't because of the grueling walk back up the dune required. Also seen on this trip were pink flamingos in the town waterfront, a salt works, and pink sand and a lake made pink by it. We appreciated the pickup and drop off at the port.

After some confusion at the start this tour is one of the best we have taken. Be aware there are four people plus the driver so the backseat gets a bit cramped but it doesn't take away from the experience. Our driver was Jannie and he explained everything we saw and what we wanted to know. His driving skills are just the best I have experienced. We took a sand dunes tour in Abu Dhabi but the dunes there are molehills compared to the ones you will explore on this trip. They served a delicious lunch at the beach complete with sparkling wine, cider, beer, water or soda and it was more than enough for all of us. There were 5 vehicles in our group but there are more depending on what cruise ship is there. I can highly recommend this excursion and you get your money worth in smiles alone. Don’t go if you have back problems
Provided lunch and drinks were very good! Toyota 4Runner seems to be the vehicle of choice. The only problem was that this excursion doesn’t allow for any other opportunity for souvenir shopping.

This experience was one of the best excursions I’ve ever done! It was exciting and very well planned, but also safely done. The sand dunes are fantastic to look at but riding up and down them was exhilarating!
Also, we were delayed getting off the cruise ship and all of the drivers waited patiently for their guests.

Perfect day! The sights were amazing. Our guide Micheal was an expert driver. We were picked up right at our cruise ship and were returned with plenty of time. Lunch was wonderful and this is a must do activity from Walvis Bay!
