The excursion was what I expected from the tour description. Maria, our guide was very knowledgeable and very understanding. We have a few people with mobility issues in our group and was very patient. In fact she told us to take our time, not to rush. We had enough free time and back on the ship before the cut off time.

Private and wonderful. Driver/guide was from Azores and took us to great sights sharing what life is like. Great tour personalized. Just the 2 of us so easy to get to many location and not stuck on huge bus.

Worst tour experience ever. Guide was not where promised. Got odd instructions to walk blocks from original site. 7 other people who signed up for tour walked with us.
Finally the bus came to pick us up. Our tour was combined with some other operator.
Will never use your services again.
Guide walled too fast for some in the group who had mobility issues.

I am sorry for teh inconvenience at teh start of your tour. We had guests arriving on 2 ships on the day of your tour, and unfortunately we had a number of guests arrive late from the 1st ship, causing the slight delay to your pick up. Once again my apologies.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable and the tour to The Cathedral Santiago De Compostela was wonderful AND GREAT VALUE for money as the cost was less than half of what our cruise ship was charging,
Also seeing the pilgrims doing the Camino Walk was very interesting and inspiring.

It is hard to understand the guide. Although this was billed as a walking tour, there were people who were in motorized scooters, who could not walk.

We were not given the right time to be picked up. The guide showed up 1 hour later & some people were at a different pick up point . This alone put us almost 2 hours behind. Since the lines were so long at the cathedral we had no free time to walk around or get any food or drink. It would have been more fun to just see the outside of the cathedral & enjoy the town on our own. Would not recommend this tour. Waste of time!

The place we visited was wonderful.
I'm disappointed with the organisation. Advitied start time 8.00. Changed to 9.00. People didn't receive Changed tile. Set off 35mins late. Agenda change several times. Little free time no time to eat or drink.
So disappointed not the usual standard.

i Stewart, Our apologies for the changed start time, we were advised that teh ship was porting at a different time, and on teh day it ported at the original planned time. I understand that on the tour all locations were visited, but time was restricted at some of the places visited., which we ahve taken up with the guide

The most unorganized tour ever with Viator. Tour scheduled for 8 am, changed to 9 am - not all were notified. Meeting point confusion for 10 people which caused a delay of 45 minutes leaving. The tour guide was not organized, did not explain the tour before leaving the bus. Ear buds not given out until after we left the bus and walked into the crowded old town. Tourists were frustrated causing anxiety about seeing what was paid for. A total mess! The only saving grace was getting to see the cathedral. Elva was way over her head!

I am sorry your are not enjoying teh tour today. we were advised that your ship was docking later then it actually did. Your tour was rescheduled for 0900 start. However guests were allowed off teh ship just before 8. Your tour is visiting EVERY location in the itinerary and will return you to the ship on time

We enjoyed this tour with guide Lucia Aguion Mosquera who was helpful and very knowledgeable. We were picked up at the port so it made the excursion very easy to take.

Firstly, we and our friends also taking this tour received multiple emails directing us to meet our tour operator at 9:50 for a 10:00 tour. We were on time, and looked for the red and white umbrella as directed - which was nowhere. All tour buses kept leaving, with no sign of ours. One couple who had booked our tour booked a separate last minute tour.
We tried to contact Viator, but the phone number was for an automated system that eventually hung up on us.
We were frustrated and preparing to try to find another way to get to the tour destination. At 10:20, we saw someone with the umbrella. She said our tour was at 10:30, and knew nothing about the messages directing us to be there at 9:50.
We then walked to a bus - which was not next to the cruise ship (as another independent tour was) and made our way to Santiago de Compostela.
The tour director was pleasant, but we had difficulty understanding her accent when she spoke in English. We would have appreciated more (any) history of and information about the Camino on the way. The information we received at the destination during the tour was fairly basic, and again, difficult to understand. The earpiece technology the tour company uses worked OK, but took some effort to get operational for everyone.
We did get back to the ship on time, and saw the things advertised by the tour.
If I had to do it again, I would pick a different tour.
I'm also disappointed in Viator. I know they only serve as a type of marketplace for individual local tour companies, but it's the Viator name on the ticket. They should at least be available for help when needed.

I am sorry that you experienced confusion with the start time of the tour. Original tour start times are sometimes amended closer to departure, and also if there is a need to adapt to porting and departure times.
We had a total of 26 guests on this tour, and I understand from other guests the coach was parked just a few minutes walk from this ship.

There was a miscommunication between Viator and the tour company they used regarding the meeting time. All of the many messages we received (and there were too many) said to meet at the ships exit at 9:50 for a 10:00 am departure. The tour company didn't show until after 10, as they said it was a 10:30 departure. So that needs to be corrected!! The tour guide was very nice, but difficult to understand. We also hoped to learn more about the pilgrimage, and it wasn't really discussed. She also didn't seem to be fully informed on the area she did show us. Not the best experience we've had with Viator!!

I am sorry for any confusion caused with teh amendment to the start time. Unfortunately due to amended porting times of one of teh ships in port, we had to adjust the start time to enable all guests to join the tour. I am surprised that the guide (Maria?) did not explain as much as you would have liked, as she has received positive reviews with past tours

We left Vigo to experience Santiago de Compestelo with Christina on a small bus. She animated the drive with history and stories of the region. The tour was relaxed, informative and made for a great experience. We enjoyed “backstage” access and valuable tips for other destinations in Spain. 10/10

Communication with the tour operator was superb. I was worried because our ship was late arriving, but was reassured. The visit to Santiago de Compostela was great. Maria the guide was informative and professional, helpful with restrooms, and ensured we were back at the ship in plenty of time without missing anything. Cathedral is fascinating, and we had enough time to explore the town and try a glass of Galician wine also!
