The Devils Pool was amazing, not as scary as you would think! The border was a bit of a faff but apart from that it was fabulous! The guys on the trip were brilliant and made you feel safe. We had Collins who was lovely!

Avoid Tamuka Travels at all costs. They add no value and simply act as a middleman to inflate prices. For a very short transfer, they charged $20 USD each way, and even when I shared the return ride with another traveler, I was still charged the full amount. That alone felt like a blatant rip-off. But the real issue is their complete lack of professionalism and accountability. I had also booked a Hwange tour with them well in advance, and they cancelled it the night before. No proper explanation, no support, and no response whatsoever from the person managing the tour. Just silence. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience, it completely derailed my trip and left me scrambling at the last minute. Between the price gouging, zero communication, and last-minute cancellation, this was one of the worst travel booking experiences I’ve had. I would strongly advise anyone to book directly with tour operators and stay far away from Tamuka Travels.

Hi Geor, Thank you for your feedback, we apologize that your expectations were not met on this experience but however just to clarify on your listed grievances. The Hwange national park is 400km from Victoria falls and initially our minimum number for this tour is 4 people, we had provisionally held your booking as we had other clients whom you were joining that unfortunately where denied entry into Zimbabwe at the immigration and had to go back thus informing us late as the clients did not have signal resulting in us informing you late as well as we could not run the tour with 1 person. Transfers for the devils pool are $20 per person to and from your hotel with a minimum of 2 people and that is clearly stated on all our platforms and the transfers are not stated as private as that would be even more costly. Clients are flexible to organize their own transfers as the transfer cost is not included on the initial tour cost to avoid queries. We sincerely apologies for the inconveniences caused and any miscommunication that could have been there.

Incredible experience, guides were safety conscious and we never felt unsafe despite being at the edge of the falls! Plenty of time to hang out at the pool, and the camera guy used our camera phones and took incredible pics and vids. He's definitely got experience doing this, took dozens of pics and vids for us. Plus the breakfast was excellent, surprisingly.

A once in a lifetime unforgettable activity. You swim to the edge of the falls and see all the water flowing down to the ground while you hang off the edge being photographed by helpful guides

So the most important part - the actual Devils pool - could not have gone better! The guides were very professional, we spent plenty of time at the pool and got some killer pictures - 10 out of 10. There are little fish in the pool which is kinda fun in a weird way! The breakfast was also absolutely marvelous, like an upscale hotel
Everything around it however - to me personally - felt extremely rushed. Which I understand in a way because they were trying to beat the crowds and give us more time at the pool. But I could barely keep up with the group, it was like: 5 seconds to put on life vest, 30 seconds for briefing, take off life vest, jump in water, no time for additional pictures.. go go go.
At the end of the day my goal was to swim in the pool and that part went flawlessly. Thank you so much, I’m very happy

It was really okay but I was thinking it will be little bit more time but ok. Guide was in hurry; okay I understand there is onother tourist but.. for 200€ can be better

Tamuka Tour company is a scam. Picked us up at hotel at 830a instead of the scheduled 9am. Charged us $30 pp for transportation instead of $20 pp bc hotel was one mile outside of town center (not informed of this up charge when reservations were made). Brian, the driver, did not wait for us at VF Zambia to take us back to hotel in Zimbabwe as promised. Waited 60 min and a nice park ranger had to call the company to send a driver. Waited for another 45 min at the border bc the driver on the Zimbabwe side was a no show. Had to take a taxi back to hotel. Devils Pool was a great experience but DO NOT USE Tamuka Tour Company!
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Andy, we value your feedback even if it was a mixed experience. Just to clarify on certain points. We do our pickups 30 to 60 minutes before your scheduled tour time to allow you to have enough time for your immigration formalities (stated on the booking). Our transfers are strictly to Zambia activity check in point from your hotel and back, we do not take clients for other activities after the devils pool that is why the driver left soon after dropping you off at the waterfalls in Zambia as that was your drop off point after the devils pool as per your instruction to the driver. We do not wait for clients when they are doing other activities like waterfalls and other that you will have booked with other operators or own your own. Transfer fees are $20 per person to Zambia and from your accommodation around town but because you were staying at Azambezi which is out of Victoria Falls town you had to pay an extra $10 each way for 2 persons which was and is also clearly stated on the inclusions and exclusions on your booking unless you missed it.
May you please read carefully on inclusions and exclusions so that you know what you will have paid for before booking.
We always do our best to make sure clients have the best experience but we are sorry for the information that you missed on your booking that led you to thing and label us as a scam which we cannot defend but to only state the facts that you did not check your booking inclusions and exclusion.

Amazing - very safe - amazing guides - couldn't fault anything or anyone...
Loved the boat ride and the pool and the food!
Theresa_R, Oct 2025
It was absolutely great! We enjoyed it so much, so fun, so very beautiful, so exciting and so thrilling! Before we started we were a bit nervous, but when we started the walking and swimming in the water - all the anxiety disappeared and we were totally just happy! All the staff was great, helpful, skilled, profs, happy and always smiling! The safety level was high and we felt 100% secure throughout the whole experience! When we came back, they served us a really great well tasting breakfast!
Coordination of transports, immigration etc worked very well. It is good to know that the tour company provides the participants with towels. Ewen though this tour is quite expensive, we were (after the tour) absolutely convinced it was worth every penny!! Thank you so much Tamuka Travel for this great tour!

Great experience! Everything was very well organized, we felt very secure, everyone was friendly and the breakfast was amazing! Definetly a must-do!
Antonio_C, Oct 2025
Being on the edge of a very tall and power eater is a great experience and the team is very professional. So no complaints. But of course this nothing more than a very expensive photoshoot experience, where one tourist follows the other without much time to enjoy or relax. Also one of the most expensive activity in the area for the value. But having that in mind, I think it’s possible to enjoy.
Isabelle_T, Oct 2025
It was great. Such an adrenaline rush. The only thing that I would improve would be the communication around pick up and drop off. It was unclear what time I had to be ready by and my driver wasn't waiting for me afterwards. I went with other people I met on thr tour and got back to the hotel that way.

Amazing view, a must do in Zambia, trustable guide and photo shooter, the water is a bit cold but manageable, breakfast is nice, we have oat bow and eggs roll to choose, I will like to experience again in the future.
Kimball_O, Aug 2025
Such an amazing day to experience being in a pool on the edge of Victoria Falls and look over the edge.
Rebecca_C, Jul 2025
Spend the money and do this. You will not regret it. If you think its too adventurous for you I promise you will be fine. JUST BOOK IT! I am super uncomfortable with water and I am so pleased to say that all of the guides were more than kind and generous and made me feel so comfortable. This is not an easy task and I cannot say how much I appreciated their kindness. The entire experience was easy and we handled with superior service. The breakfast was delicious and set in a beautiful view. Really well done.
Diane_D, Jul 2025
Great tour. The guides are excellent and really make you feel safe when you are on the edge. We went in the morning and saw a double rainbow.
Lisa_S, Jul 2025
Absolutely brilliant experience well organised and unique. A definite to do at Victoria falls. Tour operator friendly and helpful
HsuanKai_C, May 2025
You think it was just a pool for tourists? No no!! Even much more adventurous!! The staffs asked 5 of us if we would like to lay on the edge of the top of the falls cliff with maximum river flow! That is the most memorable and enjoyable moment when laying on the cliff!!
Gregg_B, Jan 2025
The ad and the wording lead us to believe that you jump into the pool. Found out from the guide that they stopped doing that 10 years ago. Time to update your website. You walk and crab walk out to the falls. Then you slide on your stomach to the edge. While you are waiting your turn, you are fish food for fairly large fish. The description and the picture on your site made this experience for my entire family.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
We thank you for the feedback which we believe you are doing a good job to say what you felt was not fair to you. We run this tour each day for years but this is one of the few times we get a complaint regarding the experience and how we do it. We always want to have our clients excited before the tour and very happy after the tour. The photos posted are still true and we do the same but it is up to the guides to allow you to jump into the pool if they see it fit depending with their assessment of the client and this is only because your safety is our number one priority. Having you to walk in a single line which you referred to crab walk is only to make sure you are all safe and for guides to manage you well. Sliding to the edge of the falls by your stomach is done because you can not stand at the edge of the falls as the rocks can be slippery.
If we take 10 people to the pool we need to come back with 10 and this is only possible when we follow our safety precautions.
We are sorry once again when you did not enjoy what everyone is enjoying. Thank you for the feedback.

Please be flexible as the weather, the pools and the wind all change factors at the time you head to the pools.
Still a great experience from start to finish.

My wife and I loved it and we are in our mid 60s and live in the US.
If I could give this an extra credit star, I would. Exhilarating, enjoyable and entertaining!
Sitting on the edge of the falls with a beautiful rainbow below us was an insane feeling.
Not sure what the person was talking about that left a bad review about having to be a good swimmer. My wife is a poor swimmer and there was no issue with her getting to the edge of Devil’s Pool or back from it.
Not that it was easy, but you walk most of it. On the way to the Pool, there is a rope that you hold onto for most of the way. You do have to be wary of the mossy rocks under water. Once in the Pool, you walk and when you are not walking you are able to hold onto rocks as you make your way to the edge!
Onto the guides: they were helpful, knowledgeable and observant.
On the short boat ride to Livingstone Island, the driver-guide knew exactly where the rocks were just under the surface of the water and he navigated the Zambezi River easily. We saw elephants, zebras and hippos on the drives to and from the island which was an added treat.
At Devil’s Pool the guides assisted those who were having a harder time by lending a hand or ushering them through a less dangerous, though slightly longer, route.
Also at the Pool, they kept an eye on everyone and immediately raced in whenever any of the patrons looked like they may need assistance.
We were on the 9:00 AM tour so after being in the Pool, we were led back to Livingstone’s island where we were given a wonderful meal.
Communication could be better with the tour company, but this was the best tour that I’ve ever been on.
All in all, to those of you who are contemplating this tour:
- if you are being picked up in Zimbabwe, you will need to bring your passport.
- If you are being picked up in Zambia, you will not need to bring your passport.
- Be aware that you will probably be picked up earlier than the time noted on the site. Our tour started at 9, but the bus picked us up at 8.
- This is not the US, so a lot of the safety measures that are in place in the states, due to Americans and their lawyers, are not there. Common sense will dictate what you should do. If you have an issue with that, don’t book the tour.
- There is a charge for being picked up and dropped off. If the transportation is not noted in the “included list” on the web page, don’t complain when you have to pay.
Maz_A, Sep 2024
This is a must do experience for the sheer thrill alone! Note: It is only possible during low water in the dry season and you must be a competent swimmer. Lying prone with your head over the edge of the falls with the water crashing down is both scary and exhilarating! A once in a lifetime experience!!
Brett_R, Sep 2024
Be sure who you are booking with and that the actual operator is the one handling your booking and transport and that it’s not some sort of scam to get you to pay twice. It’s not safe at all but if you want to do something reckless go for it. There’s no safety rope or anything, just a guy holding you by your feet, you have to be a good swimmer, lots of people booked this not knowing you had to swim out there
Response from Host, Sep 2024
Hi Brett
We do not require good swimmers for this tour unless early days of opening the tour which are just days before water goes very low especially this year when we never received good rains in this region all areas you can walk swim when you want.
We do not charge anything twice to clients anything that you will be made to pay it must be on your booking unless you do not read it well then you miss it. Thank you so much for the feedback we will do our best to make sure you feel safe as we maintain our record on no accident so far.
Julie_G, Jul 2024
While it’s possible to book a tour directly with the Devil’s Pool owners, this tour ensures a speedy pickup and appropriate transport from Vic Falls (Zimbabwe) and across to border into Zambia, which was was stressed us out the most. We even asked our driver to take us directly to the airport afterwards and he did. Nothing bus positive things to say about this experience.
Donna_W, Jun 2024
The only thing that was let down was the transfers, they were going to change me an extra 20 dollars and they were late picking me
Up, but the whole experience apart from that was amazing, the guides were really professional and really kind, was a real experience to do
Alejandra_Y, Jan 2024
I traveled solo! i felt completely safe! it was an amazing experience! the staff is very reliable and professional! they guide you and help you through the whole process! completely recommend this!!!!!!!!!!
Keren_S, Jan 2024
We were taken for a complete ride by Tamuka. Not only did they change the tour on us, they never indicated that we weren't going to go to Devil's Pool, and then we were charged USD80 for four of us to be driven for 5 minutes from our hotel to the waterfront.
After complaining to the 'manager', he promised us he would assist with getting a refund, which we had initially asked for 2/3rds of our money back and then upped it to 100% after we discovered they COULD have taken us to Devil's Pool and simply chose not to.
Tamuka approved for Viator to give us a 40% refund, which was completely unsatisfactory, and the manager AGAIN palmed us off without actually trying to assist us.
Stay away from this company.

Experience of a lifetime!! The guides were so helpful and reassuring that it made us all feel comfortable with the risks. This is a must do if you visit Vitoria Falls. All that and the breakfast was very good also!
Stephan_D, Nov 2023
Very relaxed experience up until you're hanging over the edge. The guides were very professional and experienced not once did we feel unsafe. Once in a life time experience !!!
