Itinerary
Begin your full-day exploration of the UNESCO-listed Versailles with a walk through the expansive Versailles Gardens, one of the most visited places in the country.
The huge space, covering 1,977 acres (800 hectares), blooms with roughly 210,000 flowers planted each year. Learn more about the history of the gardens and how they were used from your expert guide.
Then visit the Palace of Versailles on a guided tour. Learn how this extravagant place was both a private home for the royal family and the center of political power from 1682 until 1789. Walk through the king's and queen's apartments, the fabulous Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Chapel.
Visitors who are at Versailles on a Sunday get an added bonus of seeing a fountain show in the morning in the gardens. The ornate fountain show is coordinated to a classical music soundtrack, which makes a morning walk through the gardens even more delightful.
Take a break for lunch (own expense), then follow your guide to the Grand Trianon. Louis XIV had this lodge built in 1670 to offer respite from the formal palace. Next, visit Marie Antoinette's Estate, where you'll see the Petit Trianon – the queen's private retreat – along with the French Pavilion and Queen's Hamlet.

Great to jump huge lines and guide was great. Enjoyed everything so much and really learned a ton of history!

Versailles was an excellent experience! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and encouraged us to learn more. The meeting place was conveniently located by the Palace. We saw all the major points of The Versailles estate and there was a nice pace for photos and time for ourselves. My mother and I did the extended tour with touring the Versailles gardens, fountains and Marie Antoinette’s estate. The gardens were absolutely breathtaking and our guide showed us all the important parts of the outside landscape while providing historical accounts and anecdote’s of Marie Antoinette’s story. Although I feel the extended tour was longer than expected, it was an excellent way to enjoy all of Versailles. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to enjoy the Palace with a small group and to learn more about French classical antiquities.

Truly the best tour experience to see all of Versailles. Our tour guide, Gabriella was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable of the history and best views of the palace and gardens. I booked this tour on Sunday when the fountains turn on and she made sure we saw almost every fountain, providing so much history along the way. I used public transportation to get from Paris, but there is also a "Get Your Guide" bus that takes you from Paris to Versailles and back.
Julia_K, Jul 2026
Sophi Anne was an excellent guide she did not rush through the palace. Was very knowledgeable and open to question. I would strongly recommend asking for her to be your guide.

Educational and efficient. Tour guides are key to find the shortest route with the most shade. This is essential on a hot summers day.
Rhonda_B, Jun 2026
Claudia was a great tour guide we enjoyed her explanations and her ability to get us through the crowds.
Raegan_E, Jun 2026
This was a great way to see Versailles. Vladina was a great guide who told us all the fun stories about the palace. I would recommend this tour to everyone!
Julie_K, Jun 2026
The guides are very knowledgeable, must be history majors! Friendly and flexible. The agency found us a guide to take us when we arrived late (lost in the Metro!)
Maria_M, Jun 2026
Great tour with Vladina! Very accommodating and engaging. Gave the group a wonderful tour of Versailles, the gardens and Marie Antoinette’s home. Be prepared to walk!

Very good tour guide Yalina and a great experience.
Recommend the tour. Well Paced with breaks. Hot day but guide made sure we found shade and did a great job
Krista_B, May 2026
I had been to Versailles years ago and wanted a guide. The first one cancelled about 24 hours before. Not happy. But booked again and our guide Vladina ;maybe Gladina) was superb. A little ray of sun and energy and with so much information. Enjoyed seeing all the extras and the gardens. Such a lively day. Not sure about Get Your Guide (we also had our Notre Dame guide cancel last minute with no explanation). But our guide could not have been better on this one!!
Ronald_N, May 2026
Vladina was absolutely perfect and this was one of the best tours we have ever done. Worth every $ we spent.
Farhan_S, May 2026
Had a great Versailles tour with Anne Sophie. She was super knowledgeable and explained things in a way that was easy to follow without it feeling overwhelming. You can tell she really knows her stuff and enjoys what she does.
The tour was well organized and she kept it interesting the whole time. Definitely made the experience better than just walking around on our own. Would recommend!

Wonderful day! Versailles is just stunning with so much to learn! Isabel is so well informed and really knows her factoids! Sprinkle in some humor and lots of smiles and laughs and it made for a great activity !
Ken_M, Oct 2025
This was an absolutely amazing tour! Vladina was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. She shared many facts about the kings, queens, courtiers, mistresses and court etiquette. This helped us understand this magnificent palace and gardens much more than just walking around and looking at things.
Christy_W, Sep 2025
It was perfect, both guides were knowledgeable, kind and friendly 🥰 thanks you very looking forward to another tour.
Tyler_L, Sep 2025
Our tour guide (Vladimir I think that is how her name is spelled) was AWESOME! My wife and I had a blast learning about the history of Versailles and touring everything.
Anthony_C, Sep 2025
This is a comprehensive tour and is fascinating. The tour takes all day so be prepared to spend a lot of time at Versailles. It’s worth the time to have access to the various spaces around the palace.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for your great review! We're so pleased you had such a great time : )
Todd_W, Aug 2025
We are glad we picked this trip. Be prepared for a long day of walking. We like to walk so it was very nice for us. The property is amazing and you get to see a good bit of it considering how big the property is. Without our tour guide Vilandia, this would not have been as educational. Having a guided tour is very important for the experience. Many people do not choose to do the Maria Antoinette house, but we were very happy that we did.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for your detailed review. It's a great day out but indeed you have to be ready to walk : ) We're delighted Vladina made the day for you. Thanks again!

Sophie is as an amazing tour guide! She was fun and so knowledgeable. Loved the whole day tour! I had done just the palace tour before and this one offered much more. It’s a lot of walking and standing but if you can do it, I would highly recommend!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
We're so pleased to read this and totally agree; this full day trip is so worth it! Thanks for sharing.
Jennifer_G, Aug 2025
Fun facts that gave a good history lesson but didn't get caught up on the minutia. Loved the guide, Anne-Sophia!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Anne-Sophie will be so pleased - we will pass that on!
kelly_s, Aug 2025
Excellent tour and fantastic tour guide. Super informative about the history and beauty of the location. Make sure to wear sneakers or comfortable shoes. Lots of walking but enough time to sit and rest also. The amount of time for lunch also was good. Great day!
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you so much for your review. We're delighted you had such a good day! Don't hesitate to get back in touch when you are next in Paris or Versailles.
shermett_b, Aug 2025
The private tour of the Gardens was very good. I would strongly recommend the tour to anyone interested in visiting.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for your review of the full day tour. It's such a great way to see everything there is to see on the estate and not just the palace. Marie-Antoinette's private estate and gardens are just beautiful!
Michelle_N, Jul 2025

I highly recommend this tour operator. I contacted them a few times with questions before the tour and they responded promptly. They even recommended some good restaurants in the area.
Our travel guide, Letitia was really good at explaining the history or Versailles.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for your kind recommendation. We're glad our team could assist you promptly before your tour and that Laetitia provided clear and engaging explanations about the history of Versailles. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you on another tour soon.
Francine_G, Jun 2025
This tour is a full day. It started with the palace. Leticia shared so much history and great anecdotes about the royals. Then we went to the gardens. Our guide was thoughtful about finding shade since it was a very hot day. We also visited Tressons and Queen's hamlet. She planned breaks and was thoughtful and courteous with questions. There is a lot of walking.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad Laetitia made the history come alive with her stories and took good care of the group on such a hot day. It sounds like you had a full and memorable day exploring the palace, gardens, Trianon, and Queen’s Hamlet. We appreciate your note about the walking; it’s definitely helpful for future guests to know. We hope to welcome you again on another tour soon.
Erin_M, Jun 2025
Our guide Laetitia was so knowledgeable and professional. She kept us on schedule and shared thorough knowledge. She kept us engaged and we all enjoyed our trip.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you so much for your kind review. We're thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience with Laetitia. Her knowledge, professionalism, and ability to keep things engaging truly make her an exceptional guide. We hope to see you again.
Ricardo_P, Jun 2025
Good but Laetitia has a very heavy French accent in English and by mid point I got used to
It somewhat. Very knowledgeable and nice!😊
Versailles needs more toilets, lines too long! Beautiful!
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We're so glad you found Laetitia knowledgeable and kind—she's truly passionate about sharing the history of Versailles. We understand that accents can take a little getting used to, and we appreciate your openness and flexibility. And yes, we completely agree; Versailles is stunning, but the restroom lines can be a challenge during busy times. We're glad you still had a great experience and hope to welcome you back in the future.
Elizabeth_F, Jun 2025
We had a lovely time with Laeticia! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and funny. Of course, this is the longer walking tour, so do be prepared for that—more or less 5mi. I wouldn’t recommend this to be the last day of your trip, closer to the first, if you can. We had a good amount of time for our breaks and were able to enjoy each stop along the way. What can be said about the palatial grounds?! Absolutely incredible and well worth the experience.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the tour with Laetitia; her knowledge and humour really do make the experience special. Great tip about the walking distance and timing, too! We agree, the palatial grounds are absolutely breathtaking and well worth exploring. Thanks again for sharing your experience, and we hope to see you on another tour soon!
