This trip was an unforgettable experience. The guide (Mr. Dudy) was competent, friendly and a good driver. We left the busy and touristic area into the the backyard of the island. 2 of the temples were well known, one of the beaten track (my favorite). The rice terraces were nice to see, we had a relaxed cup of tea. This trip was awesome and thanks very much.

Itinerary

Your private driver/guide collects you from your hotel, apartment, or villa in the morning and you travel through Bali’s central highlands to your first stop, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, which seems to float on the Lake Beratan crater lake.

Next, head through the lush countryside to Jatiluwih, an area recognized by UNESCO for its spectacularly beautiful rice terraces, where organic rice still flourishes. If you’ve booked the tour with lunch, you’ll enjoy an expansive buffet here, overlooking the arena of rice fields.

Go deeper into Balinese culture on your third stop, the less-visited Batukaru Temple (Pura Luhur Batukaru), which perches on the slopes of Bali’s second-highest volcano.

Wrap up your day with an Indian Ocean sunset at Tanah Lot Temple, balanced on lava rock amid the ocean waves. Finally, your driver drops you home.

Our water temples tour with Mr. Udi was one of the best tours we have ever been on. We learned so much from him about Balinese culture, family life, art, philosophy, nature, and more. He was relaxed, personable, informative without being overbearing, talented photographer, and a very competent driver. He took us to 3 temples that were each so uniquely different and interesting. We were so fortunate to witness ceremonies at one of the temples. At the rice terraces, we enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch with a breathtaking view, then were able to trek through the rice fields afterward, which we enjoyed immensely. He even transported us and our luggage to our next hotel at the end of the tour. Highly recommend this tour with Mr. Udi!

This tour was the highlight of our 5-day trip at Ubud, Bali. Our driver and tour guide, Gus Kumara, was a really great guide who kept us engaged not only at the sites but during the long drives from place to place. He was very friendly, really knowledgeable about the temples and locales, and patiently waited for us to explore around and take our time, even when we ended the tour later than the stipulated time. He shared with us a lot about Balinese culture, family life, Balinese new year and special days, and even about stories he's heard about the occult and much more! He's also a great photographer who helped us take plenty of pictures during the tour. Highly recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Bali, as the rice terrace we visited was under UNESCO (so it was less tourist-y and more authentic) and they have the option to purchase all the tickets and provide authentic Indonesian cuisine for lunch, and the cost for the full package was very reasonable for each pax. Thank you Gus for being a great guide for our tour!

There are many tour operators in Bali, but not all of them hold their drivers to the same high standards. I recently booked two tours with Hire Bali Driver, and they were excellent—legit, professional, and very prompt in their communication. What I loved most is that their guides wear traditional Balinese attire. It really sets them apart from other guides who can look a bit scruffy; it shows true professionalism and pride in their cultural heritage. Our guide, Wah Ko, was fantastic and clearly enjoys working for this company. We spent two lovely days with him. He was proactive, introducing himself via WhatsApp and confirming all the details a day in advance. He always arrived early in a comfortable, clean, and smoke-free car. Since Bali traffic can be a nightmare—taking 1–2 hours just to reach an attraction—having a working AC was a lifesaver! Wah Ko was so thoughtful; he always made sure to turn on the AC before we even got back into the car. He shared great insights as we passed through various villages. Although the heat and humidity forced us to skip Tukad Cepung Waterfall at the end, the trip was still perfect. He never asked for a review, but I offered to write this because he truly deserves a rave one!

Long day but great experience. Three temples and the terraced rice fields and a small coffee farm. Our guide Berata was excellent and also an expert driver which is mandatory in Bali. The drive thru Bali to these sites is also quite an experience.

Beautiful Temples & Majestic Rice Fields

What an amazing tour! The water temples were absolutely beautiful and serene in their settings. They were completely different yet spiritually magnetic. The rice fields were stunning as the terraces monopolized the slope of the mountain. Majestic and grand sums it up! The lunch restaurant overlooking the fields offered a feast. A buffet of typical Balinese dishes, so many to choose from. Simply delicious. And most of all my guide, Hendra is the most amazing person. Balinese temples

Putra was an amazing tour guide who was very fluent in English. He was very knowledgeable about Balinese culture, religions, and the temples we visited. He was very patient and did not hurry us if we took long to view the places. Also Putra is a good photographer. Although, he took us to two pricey tourist restaurants where food was bland and way too salty.

A fabulous day seeing some of Bali

After a lot of thought we booked this trip to see some of the cultural sites of Bali. The temples were beautiful and lunch at the restaurant overlooking the rice terraces was delicious and had stunning views. Ma-de couldn't have been more helpful and professional, acting as driver, guide and photographer. We actually have pictures together. He was knowledgeable and informative about the places we visited and happy to answer any questions we had . He also tailored things to our needs. Unfortunately Luhur Batukaru Temple was closed for a ceremony. To make sure we saw three temples Ma-de took us to Tamar Ayun Temple which was serene. He did a fantastic job of driving through some challenging weather and traffic and was still smiling at the end of a very long day. This tour is amazing and was only made better by meeting Ma-de.

Communication will be outstanding from beginning to end. Romo is the perfect person to introduce you to Bali. He’s professional, friendly and answers anything you want to know with confidence and a sense of humor. Delightful day in his capable hands learning all about the temples and rice cultivation. What an lovely experience, Jatiluwih green land 30 minutes is enough ,the amazing Tanah lot temple and the breathtaking beauty of Ulun Dan Bratan temple. You definitely need 2 hours here. Perfect for learning more about Balinese culture

We had the best experience with our guide Tia! She taught us so much about Balinese culture and about Hindu spirituality. Tia was also very easy to communicate with (speaks perfect English!) and is an incredibly sweet and friendly person.
