This day trip is a fantastic way to experience the back roads of Bali. Angus and Wayan were great guides, taking us through small villages, to a school and temple and through the rice fields. They were very informative and found a good balance between biking and the various stop-points. If you are looking for a break from the beaches and the crowds and want to experience a part of Bali that is less touristy, I would definitely recommend this trip. The ages of our group ranged from 11 to 77 years, with everyone finding it easily achievable as the biking is all downhill.

No real effort to smile a lot!

Martin_D, Feb 2026
As a cyclist this is not really a cycling tour, but that is not a bad thing. No real effort is required to get you down that volcanoside from village to village but what you get is series of glimpses into a rural life in Bali. Well worth it, an experience that will leave you smiling, a lot.

Excellent tour with great guide!

Wendy_C, Jan 2026
I did this today and it was fabulous! The escort, Agun(?) was really informative and friendly, pointing out photo opportunities and making sure everyone was ok. This tour is not physically demanding and shows some of the real Bali. I felt safe on the road at all times and met some lovely locals. Highly recommended!

How to see the non tourist side of Ubud and Bali

David_M, Nov 2025
Travelled with my wife, clear instruction and easy pickup, went to Mt Batur to see a great view of the volcano. Then downhill pretty much all the way stopping at a school, local village and rice field. A bit of breakfast at 10am at a coffee plantation and a nice chicken rice/noodle lunch at around 1.30pm. A great way to see the scenery of Bali without all the scooters and mopeds and seeing how the locals live. The guides Wayan and Ari I believe their names were, they were very friendly all day.

Great way to experience local culture

Caroline_C, Oct 2025
We are here in bali on a 20 day tour and got more info from this cycling tour then with our long tour guide.

The best Bali Day you could wish for!

carakimpton, Sep 2025
To see the real Bali this is an incredible day! The cycling is very gently and 99% a slow downhill ride with good bikes suitable for all ages and fitness. A very informative day showing you close up the temples, padi fields, local community and their home. Beautiful scenery as you relax on your bike taking in the scenery and the Balinese way of life.

A great day trip for the whole family

Amazing cultural experience

Learning about the Balinese culture and meeting the people. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable.

Beautiful and educational!

Ashley_D, Oct 2024
Such a wonderful tour, we saw so many beautiful places and learnt so much about Balinese culture and life through our amazing guide. We stopped at a local school and a local home which was so interesting! The ride was very easy, 90% downhill with no pedalling. Highly recommend this tour and this company

Fun day in Ubud on a bike

John_H, Oct 2024
Had a great time exploring Ubud by first starting off with a hotel pick up and a scenic drive to Mt Batur. We biked all the way down to a restaurant in Ubud. Along the way, the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited many different sites and a Balinese home. The ride was very easy and 95% downhill. I was very impressed with the cycling route.

Bali backroads on a bike

Stuart_C, Jul 2024
Well organised and run bike tour. On time pick up with great communication. Great downhill route in the quite back roads and a lovely lunch at a local Warung to finish. Thank you for a great day.

10/10 you bloody ripper

Alister_H, Jul 2024
Had a great day exploring intimate Ubud. Our guide was knowledgeable and super kind. Had a great day out, would happily do again. Bikes were well maintained and everything ran smooth as silver. All biking is downhill with only tiny sections that you have to peddle. Thankyou for a great day out!

Highly recommend

Donna_S, Jun 2024
Our guild was very informative. Easy downhill ride. Visited school & seen how Balinese families live. Lunch was great. Had a great day.

AWFUL- stay away!

Bonnie_T, Dec 2023
DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP. Tour company never showed up at our hotel. Viator was unable to connect with them either. When we finally reached them (after waiting more than 45 minutes), they said they’d do the same tour tomorrow. We asked for later that day as we had plans for the next day already. Tour company said OK, however, did not tell us that they would not be providing 2 meals (only had one meal that was not great), also missed tour of the school, and had a shortened tour. Company would not give us a partial refund and was incredibly rude. I’ve done many Viator tours, I can’t believe that Viator works with this company.

Nice and easy cycling experience, just as it states, totally downhill. Gave an experience into the real working life of the Balinese people.

Had a fantastic cycling trip. Nearly all downhill through mostly beautiful peaceful countryside. Trip also included coffee tasting, a temple and traditional house tour, and very nice lunch at the end. Bikes were safe and well maintained. Thoroughly recommend.

Unique and tranquil experience

Rachel_H, Sep 2023
I really enjoyed the information given by our wonderful guide Agus. It was great to get out into the countryside and see a different side of Bali

Best day in Bali!

Priya_M, Jul 2023
This was possibly the Best Day Of My Trip to Bali! I loved every minute of it. The tour guides are wonderful people and spoke English well. This is a must if you really want to be Bali outside of the big cities.

Cycle through the Bali countryside

TREVA_A, Jun 2023
Very enjoyable experience. Staff were punctual, friendly and keen to assist. The ride was relatively easy, and the scenery lovely. We enjoyed the cultural experience too.

Amazingly interesting and fun

Chris_G, May 2023
Absolutely very interesting trip, with much more cultural aspect than I expected. Visited a local school, coffee house, typical Bali house/family and to finish a nice lunch. Totally worth it. If you just want to cycle, book another trip.

Great way to get away from the tourist traps and see the countryside.

Melinda_K, May 2023
Wayan (the driver) and Wayan (the guide) were both wonderful. The tour itself was nice because it included a visit to a coffee plantation where we saw luwaks and were provided with tasters for many different types of coffee and tea along with some pancakes as a palate cleanser. The bike ride was not at all difficult and was truly "downhill". We stopped at several sites and Wayan provided an explanation of the significance. Seeing a Balinese home was very interesting. At the end we were even treated to a delicious lunch.

Great day out

KevinFL, May 2023
Both my wife and myself enjoyed the day. Ogus was very informative answering any questions we had . The driver Made also very cautious with his driving.Over all had a great day out cycling in Ubud

A truly fun day

Efrem_B, Apr 2023
This was a lovely day spent outdoors with our terrific guide Wayan explaining the fundamentals of village life in Bali: cultivation of rice, the 210 day Balinese calendar, family life in a family compound , we even ran into a village wedding. Pedaling was virtually effortless since it was all downhill with regular stops.

Eddie, our guide, was...

Ellen_M, Apr 2023
Eddie, our guide, was friendly and capable and well informed. However, some parts of the route were not picturesque and some of the road surfaces were very poor and the few up hills were on very rough “roads” and difficult to navigate potholes and ruts. We are thankful the coffee plantation wasn’t a hard sell since the prices there are terribly inflated. Some very nice vistas of rice fields. Many bike tours seem to offer the exact same routes since we kept seeing other groups on the route. Overall would rate this a B/B+

Amazing trip

jason_l, Mar 2023
Amazing trip , guide fantastic and scenery you cannot beat but the price through Viator was expensive

Bali Bike trip.

Jason_D, Mar 2023
Overall a great day. One of our favorite tours in Bali. Guide and driver were both informative and easy to communicate with. Bike trip was fun but not too difficult. Some great stops along the way including a school and the rice fields. Would highly recommend. Take sunscreen though. The sun snuck up on me.

Wonderful way to see Bali...

Jamie_W, Mar 2023
Wonderful way to see Bali countryside and the tour guide was very friendly with great local knowledge.

Peaceful bike and lots of culture info

Megan_O, Mar 2023
Very pleasant downhill bike experience through villages and rice fields. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English clearly. He taught us about Balinese life, culture, and religion. High quality bikes, helmets, and water provided. We did bike on some busy roads but the guide was careful to stop traffic for us to cross. The coffee tour and lunch were lovely added bonuses and the food was good at both. I only wish the tour included volcano viewing before the biking.

Great experience

Natalee_E, Mar 2023
One of the best tours I have ever done. If you want a relaxed tour that isn’t at all touristy while getting an authentic look at the way Balinese live and their family structure/ culture this is for you.

Bali cultural tour

Sajad_S, Mar 2023
This was a brilliant excursion. The team drove us to the coffee plantation, and the coffee tasting was out of this world amazing. We were also privileged to attend a local primary school and interact with the kids. It was an honour to see the kids and spend some time talking to them. The downhill bike ride was amazing! Very easy on the legs apart from a few small hills. Our bike guide “Augus” was amazing. His English was brilliant (despite only learning English over the last few years) and he was extremely attentive towards our needs. We felt very save under his care. Overall, we 100% recommend this tour for those who want to explore the culture of Bali and a glimpse into their way of life.

Fantastic way to see the countryside!

Steven_C, Jan 2023
This was one of the best tours we did in Bali, the guide was knowledge, helpful and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this tour.
