The captain of the boat was very nice and informative about what we were going to do and what we were going to experience. The boat and equipment provided were both in great condition. A great snorkeling experience.

Prepare to get wet! 3 snorkeling sights with fish, turtles, rays, shark, and “shipwrecks”. Awesome snorkeling sights!! Boat small but comfortable, in rough water and wind, you will get wet. Lunch was traditional fish in coconut milk over rice, delicious and well seasoned! Also fresh fruit, juice and beer. Captain was personal and helpful! He provides snorkeling gear and good instructions.

80 % was spent riding around on water. Water time very limited. I could not go in the water a 2nd time because it was impossible to enter raft on a small steel ladder(very slippery)

IMHO: Arriving at the dock; there was no one to unlock the marina gates, so we had to have another vendor do that for us. At the boat (pontoon) slip, the skipper didn't know how to open the boat's access door, so informed us to all climb over top of the boat's rails, which wasn't practical for anyone let alone some senior adults. As we headed out to the 1st snorkel dive site, the skipper cut the corner of the reefs channel markers and accident ran the boat's hulls up on live the reef, got stuck, then powered over using the outboard engines grinding the props, with-out ever tilting them up. Basic tearing up the reef and the props on the boats outboard engines. He did this 3 separate times(!) which is egregious considering the water is so clear, one would have to be blind not to see the reef. Which just is indicator how he wasn't aware of his surroundings putting us at danger. Outside the reef on a pontoon boat he headed right into a breaking swell with water coming over the bow and the pontoon boats deck as if it was a monohull with a raised bow. At this point we were seriously eyeing life jackets, considering putting on our fins and calculating how far inside reef and shore would be if it starts sinking. We finally made it to first snorkel sight and he drops anchor in 30'+ water with waves breaking on "bomies" 2' deep right next to us and says here you go. I'm a veteran (50 years) freediver-spearfishing and I made the 30' drop just to prove what a poor place it was for any snorkeler as there was nothing to look at surface level for snorkelers and white water with surging all around the boat. No one else got in the water out of fear. The 2'd & 3rd dive was much more inline with the snorkel excursion it was suppose to be, except the skipper hit the reef with the boat and engines again cutting the corner of the channel markers. I do believe he was an avid waterman with skills for hanging out with his buddies, just not skippering a boat with responsibility the safety of tourist, let alone tearing up the Companies engines, not to mention the impact to a live reef. I will say the lunch with fresh fish and drinks supplied was excellent and in spite of above concerns, the vibe on the boat was still positive and fun, once back inside the reef where we could save ourselves if necessary. Wild day, but we survived!

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on the Snorkeling Picnic in Tahiti tour booked through Viator. We appreciate your insights and apologize for the challenges you encountered during the excursion. It is concerning to hear about the issues you faced with accessing the marina gates, boat door, and the skipper's handling of the boat, including damaging the reef and boat's engines.
We take your safety and experience seriously, and we will address these issues with our team to ensure that proper procedures are in place for the future. Your feedback regarding the skipper's actions and lack of awareness of the surroundings is noted, and we will provide additional training to prevent such incidents in the future.
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the lunch provided and that the positive vibe on the boat helped make the experience more enjoyable despite the challenges. Your feedback is valuable to us as we strive to improve our services and provide a safe and memorable experience for all our guests. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a better and smoother experience in the future.

We loved swimming with the rays and diving to the plane. Great experience with fun guides! They improvised beautifully when the surf didn’t cooperate.

Tapu was an amazing guide! He loves the beauty of the ocean and all the aquatic life. He provided a great time and made us a great lunch on the sand bar. Highly recommend!

Provider never stopped by our hotel to pick us up so we never got to go on the tour. We contacted the provider who claimed they had mechanical issues. They did provide a refund, however with limited time in Tahiti, this was a missed opportunity.

Wonderful personalised tour from a passionate and informative host. Able to visit "The Aquarium" and get personal with Stingrays. Highly recommended.

Perfect half day snorkeling around fishes and turtles. Amazing and friendly captain. Finishing with a nice picnic. Highly recommend!

Swimming with the turtles 🐢 was fabulous, although we were not able to get pictures. And the reefs are FULL of colorful fish 🐠 of various sizes! Definitely a must do!

Each member of the tour team was polite, gracious and accommodating. I was impressed that they offered to pick us up at the cruise terminal as we were prepared to do the 5 minute walk to the marina. There was an initial mix up because I did not understand they were picking us up in a boat! I was looking for someone holding a sign on the dock, not in the water.
We visited 3 snorkel sites - each different. The first was called the Turtle Sanctuary near the coral reef. The second was in the lagoon to view two ship wrecks and a plane wreck. The last was a sand bar frequented by sting rays.
We are not strong swimmers, and the distances presented at the first two sites were beyond our capabilities. But, without hesitation, the captain described how he would help us get “there and back” comfortably and safely - and he did!
The yellow tuna ceviche with coconut rice lunch was freshly made onboard by the captain and delicious. We paired it with local cold beer that was included in our ticket.
At the end of the excursion we were delivered to the dock directly adjacent to our ship. It was a perfect ending to a perfect morning.

The Boat Captain was very great. He took us to 3 different spots. We saw many spinning dolphins. These cute guys were very near and jumped and spinnied like I've never seen before. Then, we snorkled and so 2 Stingrays from a very close proximities. Had a great time. Highly recommend.

Moana was a fantastic tour guide! We snorkeled at 3 wonderful sites and ended the trip with homemade ceviche and rice with beer or rum punch. A wonderful day was had by all! Highly recommend.

Wonderful day! Our Captain, Moana, was excellent! He was so friendly and made sure we got to see turtles. All of the 3 snorkeling stops were great and the food was amazing! Can't thank Moana enough. Highly recommend this tour.

We went on Wednesday October 25 due to Viator messing up our reservation. We showed up On Monday at 7 am and there was no tour. Had to come back later in the week. Moana our guide, was exceptional. We could not swim with the turtles due to the current being too strong but the wrecks were interesting to snorkel around. Our lunch was delicious and we loved Moana sharing about his culture and the canoe racing he does.

Excellent afternoon with Sham who helped us in this 1st experience swimming with mask.
