Our tour was really fun! We had a small group… just 5 of us so it was easy and great to get to know the others touring the Rocks with us. Emily was……. AMAZING. she was not only fun and informative but so kind and conscientious. Loved having her to guide us around the Rocks. We really enjoy walking tours (like this one). They are such a great way to get our feet on the ground in a new city, get to know some of the history, and meet new people! We would definitely book again with Dave’s Tours.

We were looking for something low-key to fill an afternoon—something more engaging than just sitting in a bar—and this tour ended up being the perfect choice. Exploring The Rocks through its historic pubs was a really unique way to experience a bit of Sydney’s layered history. The mix of storytelling, local context, and great stops along the way made it both entertaining and informative without ever feeling heavy. Our guide, Emily, was fantastic. Her enthusiasm—especially when it engaging everyone to enjoy our time together—was contagious and really added to the experience. She kept things fun, relaxed, and engaging the entire time. One unexpected highlight: one of the stops had a pizza featuring kangaroo and emu meat. While we didn't have time to order one during the tour, we were intrigued enough that we actually went back later that evening after a show at the Opera House to try it. If you’re looking for a casual, social, and slightly different way to explore Sydney, this tour is a great pick. Highly recommend.

What a great intro to some of the historical pubs of The Rocks! We booked this tour at the beginning of our stay so we would have time to go back and hit our favorites for dinner. Dave was an awesome host! We had so much fun!

Although we had already been in Sydney for 3 days, our guide, Nick, took us to places that we had not visited and his knowledge of the history of Sydney and The Rocks was extraordinary. We wound through back alleys to archeological digs, historical buildings, and visited four pubs where we had a beer of our choice at each. Tables were reserved for us, so we did not have to fight the mobs that were there to watch a very important cricket match. Nick was very friendly and approachable, and we enjoyed discussing many topics with him beyond Sydney's history. We highly recommend this tour has it lives up to its name as a historical tour with some beer thrown in

This was a lot of fun! Scottie gave us a lot of historical info on “the rocks” area as well as the pubs and the beer. Visited 4 different pubs and tried some of the signature beers. Saturday night is perhaps not the best night to go. The pubs are crazy busy. We had some difficulty with the group seating (we were 15 people) in some of the pubs and it was hard for Scottie to talk over the noise. Fun time though and nice to chat with others from different places.

Doug with Dave's tour took us to 4 different pubs and also had stops along the way in the Rocks district to give us historical information also, learned alot about the Australian beginnings. And the delicious beer was bonus

A fun peek into the history of Sydney and the great debate of which is the “oldest pub”, while sampling some of the local brews. Some pub reviews said that local beers weren’t that great, but my husband is kind of a beer snob and we found a lot that we really liked. A great way to get a lay of the land and explore places that you typically wouldn’t be able to find on your own.

We walked to 3 different historical pubs and learned the history of the Rocks. Our tour guide, Simon, was extremely knowledgeable and funny. The hours flew by and we were sent away with a few extra pub recommendations to explore on our own. Would definitely recommend this tour!

A fantastic tour through some of Sydney’s oldest European pubs! Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also super fun and entertaining. We sampled a variety of beers and ciders while soaking in the city’s rich history and iconic sights. Excellent service and a great mix of booze, banter, and storytelling -highly recommend! 🍻🏙️🇦🇺
