This was a blast. We went with our kids, ages 9 and 11, along with friends whose children were of a similar age. The kids absolutely loved it. Isaac was outstanding and did a great job making the ride lively and also provided great facts about Sydney.

Departure Point: Circular Quay Eastern Pontoon, Jetty 1 - halfway between the ferry wharves and the Opera House. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time for check-in.

What To Expect

Make your way to Jetty 1 at Circular Quay, located midway between the Sydney Opera House and the ferry wharves. There are multiple departure times throughout the day. Lockers are available to store your belongings (bring a set of dry clothes for afterwards), and you'll be provided with waterproof ponchos and life jackets. Meet your captain and listen to a safety orientation before taking off for your 30-minute jet boat ride.

Zip through Sydney Harbour, past sights such as the Opera House, Rose Bay, the Taronga Zoo, and Luna Park. Listen to tunes on the state-of-the-art speaker system and hold on to your seats for a wild ride. The jet boat can travel up to 47 miles per hour (75 kilometers per hour) and perform tricks such as 270-degree spins, fish tails, wave riding, slides, twists, and power brake stops.

Head back to the quay after your 30-minute ride.

Absolute blast. Thank you. We were pleasantly greeted, assisted with putting on coats and life jackets. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. They made sure to help everyone on the boat, doing checks and explaining things thoroughly. The driver was full of personality and tbh I laughed and cheered and some might find this strange but it was soooo peaceful for me roaring and spinning and turning in the boat around the harbour. And boy, does that boat have a motor. Thanks guys.

Everything about Thunder jet boats was amazing. The staff were amazing, the guy driving the boat was great, and got to see parts of Sydney i never would if I didn't do this. Best part was thrashing around the water of Sydney Harbour and getting drenched. Will definitely be doing it again.

Disclaimer was scary but in reality this was most amazing, fun ride. I dont know how to swim but being on jet boat & the ride was made fun by Tom who had very good instructions to hold bar with both hands & lean back on seat. Every second of 30 minutes was exciting. I will highly recommend this experience to others specially who are scared but want to go for it.
