Learn how to scuba dive during your vacation in St. Thomas in a small group of just four people, led by a PADI-certified instructor. Learn the basics of scuba diving theory and how to use the equipment to breathe underwater, then do your very first ocean dive from a dive boat. Opt to add a second dive (additional cost) or go snorkeling; either way, you get to experience the vivid underwater world in a safe and comfortable way.

- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- All guests must be able to swim
- Minimum age 10 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Divers are advised to allow a minimum of 12 hours after diving before flying.
- Non-certified divers (students & Discover Scuba Diving participants) will be required to complete a standard Diver Medical Questionnaire and are also advised to review ahead of time for any health conditions that may require a doctor's written pre-approval. If you are flagged to require a doctor approval when you do your DSD prep or waivers, you must have the form signed by a doctor and to us before your dive. Those who do not provide a doctor approval will be able to snorkel only.
- IMPORTANT: Please note that as per the health questionnaire that will be part of your waiver,you will need a signed form from your doctor if any of the below are true. This does not necessarily mean you cannot dive. You will just need to get approval from your doctor to show us. Those whose answers are flagged for doctor approval but do not provide the approval ahead of time will be able to snorkel, but not dive.
- -------If you have had surgery within the last 12 months, OR have ongoing problems related to past surgery, you will need to provide doctor approval.
- -------if you select the answer that you are taking prescription medications (with the exception of birth control or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine (Lariam) you will need to provide doctor approval.
- -------if you are over 45 AND are a smoker or have high blood pressure or high cholesterol, you will need to provide doctor approval.
- -------if you have diabetes or had gestational diabetes within last 12 months, you will need to provide doctor approval.
- -------if you have ear disease or recurring sinusitis, you will need to provide doctor approval.
- -------if you have asthma, severe allergies, trouble breathing, or angina or other heart issues, you will need to provide doctor approval.

Great time diving. Did the learn to dive intro class with my 3 kids. Instructors (Dylan!!) made it very easy to pick up the skills and have a great time. Great dive spots too.. everyone wants to know and we can do it again. Only recommendation is to make the upfront paperwork needs more clear. If you’re on any prescription medication or have any abnormal medical at all, you’ll have to get medical clearance before you ever come down to the island. Make sure to take care of it.

The dive instructor was outstanding. He was professional, courteous, safety-oriented and made sure I received the best experience.
The entire crew and captain were nice and concerned about my safety and well-being.

I could not recommend this experience enough for anyone who has been interested in seeing ocean life from a new point of view. Zach, Dylan, Kelly, and Captain Steph were absolutely incredible and they made us feel safe, taken care for, and were absolutely hysterical to share the journey with. It was our first time scuba diving and we felt so safe and informed, and it was unreal seeing all the ocean life from the sea floor. It felt like we were in an aquarium!!! We got so close to a sea turtle, saw some huge spiny lobsters, a couple of eel, a huge pufferfish, spiny crab, and an insane variety of fish and coral the entire way. We will never forget this experience and will be coming back for more when we come back to St. Thomas!!!

Had a blast! The crew was awesome! Steph, Tommy, and especially our dive instructor David. We were first timers and he made us feel safe and informed. The whole experience was very fun! One word of advice: do the second dive!

I went out with Tommy, Steph and Jamie today for the diving/snorkel. I love to snorkel but had never dove. Jamie was very patient and encouraging when I found diving to be very overwhelming for me. Even though I didn’t complete the dive, I would still very much recommend this trip for anyone wanting to give diving a try. The second snorkel stop we made (I can’t remember the name) was amazing!! Lots of fish and corals to be seen.

We did a no-certification scuba dive experience with Jamie, Tommy and Steffi. It was amazing. Jamie was a tremendously patient and fun teacher. He gave great tips and was a lot of fun to talk with. I would say for anyone who is considering scuba diving as an absolute beginner, this was a perfect way to start! I would highly recommend this company!

My husband and I decided we wanted to learn scuba diving and took our first step with Discover. Dave was instructing us and I honestly could not have asked for a better instructor. Truth be told, I panicked and was unable to complete the dive but that was just me. He was patient and kind and most importantly incredibly understanding. My husband completed his first dive ever with Dave and has not stopped ranting and raving about how wonderful it was. We were on board with a small group who had dove before and they were nothing but supportive and shared their stories about their first dives as well. Even though I didn’t dive I was given the option to snorkel during the first dive, however I sat on the boat. During the second dive however, I took him up on snorkeling as did ny husband and it was still an absolutely wonderful and incredible experience. Highly, highly recommend. I can’t put into words the gratitude I have for the whole crew.

We had the most amazing day diving with our crew today! It was my husbands first time and my second time. The whole crew was the best at calming any nerves and making sure we were comfortable on our dives. Steph was out guide and she was beyond expectations! We both would dive any day with her again. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of the family. Extra Shout out to the rest of the crew Erika, Nen and our captain Jared!!! 100% would recommend! Wish we could give them 100 stars!

Went diving on 6/25/23. As first timers, it's both intimidating and exhilarating experience. It's one of a kind experience and we couldn't be more grateful to the whole crew. They are are amazing, very accommodating, friendly and very knowledgeable. They made us feel safe all through out. We're able to see different varieties of fish, corals and a stingray and they made sure point us to the right direction where we can see them. Overall, the whole experience was amazing and would definitely recommend them to everyone who would want to experience scuba diving in US VI. Hats off to the Sunday crew of Discover Scuba diving in st Thomas VI!

Audrey, Dave and Steve were great! It was my first time diving and Audrey made sure I was completely at ease. My husband unfortunately got a bit of sea sickness and all three checked on him and made sure he had what he needed. We had an unexpected surprise with our second stop at Christmas Cove, a concert! Anna, Wolfgang and Quinton were great. The dives were fine and a great experience for my teens. Our issue with the experience was the continued non-stop talk of Jeffrey Epstein and Pedophile Island. This is were the dives took place and that's fine but all the pedophile talk was inappropriate.

We were diving at Ledges of Little St James, at infamous Jeffrey Epstein island. Ledges are great dive and divers of all levels enjoy diving there.
We are sorry you were not comfortable with conversation on the boat. Unfortunately the crew is unable to censor and control guest conversations. We only had couple of guest on the boat so taking distance from conversations was always an option. We are sorry you have not bring your concerns to the crew during the trip as we could try to mitigate the issue.
