Great tour of St Andrews University, St Andrews Cathedral, and the 18th green of the Old Course. Go on a Sunday when The Old Course is a public park instead of a golf course. You can bring a blanket an picnic on the 18th fairway or anywhere on the course!

We enjoyed our tour. So much to learn about the history of At Andrews and was captured in 2 hours. Would highly recommend.

This was my college age sons favorite tour. They loved the tour guide and his authentic stories and learning the history of St. Andrew’s

Our tour guide Mike was a pleasant chap who was a lifelong resident of St Andrew’s. He not only had a deep knowledge of golf history but also of the whole history of St Andrew’s, dating back to the first century. He walked us through all the significant sites from St. Salvador’s and the Cathedral to the Old Course itself, viewing the historic clubhouse from all sides, walking across the 1st & 18th fairways, to the 17th (Road Hole) green and finishing on Swilcan Bridge.
Mike knew all the best places to take photos and at several points took our cameras to take group photos in front of important landmarks.
It was a really instructive and enjoyable two hours, conducted in rare Scottish conditions - blue sky, light wind and warm temperatures.

It’s a wonderful walking tour! You will fall in love with St. Andrew’s! We loved all the golfing history we learned as well as history of the city.
Mike, our guide was the best!!

Understanding the historical events that brought to what St Andrews today, the establishment of one of the oldest universities in UK, the transition from being a Catholic nation to Lutherian protestants and of course the invention of the golf game.

Graham was brilliant!
Tour was very informative and offered plenty of history of St Andrews and even more of the history of golf.

Fantastic! Mike was phenomenal!! Wonderfully thorough history of both the town of St. Andrew’s and the Old Course. Made sure we got plenty of pictures especially at the iconic bridge on 18.

1/2 about town and 1/2 about golf course. Need to know that using parking meters near meeting site will only allow for 2 hours of parking. You need more time than that

Fantastic tour. The area has such an interesting history, but Mike as our tour guide brought it life. Can not recommend this tour enough!
Standing on the bridge at the Old Course was a dream come true!

This tour was everything we expected and more. Our host was amazing and his historical knowledge was next level. He had a wealth of information and was able to answer every question. He is a great ambassador for the town and the tour. Unfortunately he was not wearing a name tag and we can’t remember his name.

The tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and funny. I would take the tour again. There was a woman that has taken the tour three times already and planned on going to another. The guide is a wealth of information.

Judy_C, Apr 2025
Private tour...such great information. We could ask questions as they arose. We walked around the city and onto the course. Our guide gave recommendations for what to do after the tour as well.
Lorrie_M, Mar 2025
It’s a fast paced walking tour to pack in all of the wonderful sites. Our tour guide was very informative and passionate about the history he shared; although somewhat impatient at times.
SUSAN_A, Sep 2024
Jonathon was a great tour guide…had lots of interesting facts…learned a lot about Edinburgh …more than just the vaults
Catherine_S, Sep 2024
We needed to use a restroom
During the tour and our guide refused to accommodate us. While we understand there were others on the tour, he could have at least directed us and told us where to meet back up. Instead he was rude. We left and never were able to rejoin the tour. Disappointing.
NEIL_T, Sep 2024
We stayed in Edinburgh and being an old Golf nut had to book the Golf tour of St Andrews. We got a lot more than expected. The Historical facts of St Andrew's Town were a bonus expertly explained to us by our knowledgeable guide.
Joanne_Z, Sep 2024
Richard was very informative and fun. He has a great understanding of the local history. Highly recommend it for all ages. You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy this
Leila_H, Sep 2024

My husband has talked about wanting to see St Andrews golf course since I met him over 30 years ago. A dream come true and it did not disappoint. Richard was the perfect guide with his historical knowledge of golf and St Andrews. The tour was a delight. I was most intrigued by the ruins of the cathedral, the castle and the history of the town. It was a great tour for us all.
