Andrew was such a delightful tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the old course and the surrounding courses. He made sure we had a full experience and shared memories from his childhood on the course. Would recommend this tour and Andrew as a guide to anyone having a passion for the course. Thanks again Andrew!

This experience is a must for devoted golfers. Penelope was knowledgeable and entertaining. St. Andrews speaks for itself.

Great way to view the course! We walked along the course and learned the history. Recommend going on Sunday if you want to be able to walk freely across the course. Otherwise you have to stick to the path.

It was a lovely experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Great way to spend the afternoon. Recommend.

Amazing experience. We booked the private tour to be able to be flexible in what we wanted to be included in our exploration. Our guide, Freddie was fantastic and super cool. We started on time and walked the historic golf course and learned a lot of information that is not normally available. Great insights from an actual golfer made it more applicable to the golfers in the group but also made it interesting enough for the non golfers. And we got our photos taken on the Swilken Bridge. Recommend doing it on a Sunday where it is more relaxed. Highly recommended tour.

Andrew at St Andrews was awesome! Very informative tour and helped my son sign up for the singles lottery! He got chosen and had an 820 tee time! What an amazing experience! We love St Andrews!

Easy walk, great information surrounding the Old Course. 1st tee, 18th pin, and the famous “bridge” pictures are some of our favorites from our trip.

Met our guide Jane for a really nice and informative tour. Only 1 of our group was a golfer so she did a great job making sure the tour was fun for the non golfers as well. Had a great time and couldnt have asked for a better guide!

This was amazing! So much history from our animated guide. We went to all the top highlight points of the St. Andrews golf course. He was willing to take photos of us as well. Would highly recommend this tour.

We learned a lot about the colorful history of golf at St Andrews and we walked on the course. The guide was very informative, he answered all of our questions.

Our guide, Ada, was such a delight! She knew every aspect of the game of golf, but also made it fun and interesting for those in our party who weren’t golf fans. While we were blown around by the wind, it didn’t seem to bother her a bit. We loved the personal stories she shared, and can’t wait to watch the Open in 2027 and look for all of the places we visited. Highly recommend!!

Greatest tour guide. He grew up there and was full of info. Rained all day, but it was worth it. He even brought a putter so our son was able to experience what it would be like if he was actually putting from the 17th green.

Andrew was a wonderful tour guide with loads of local history, golf stories and a special passion for The Old Course.

That our booking did not go ahead blaming a computer error after getting an email at 7.03 are we excited about our tour at 10.30.We arrived at meeting place before time but no guide appeared. A guide from same company arrived at 10.50 for another tour and rang her company, st Andrew's walking tours, they did not have our booking. St Andrew's were great but I still missed my golf tour, all the way from Australia, and all I get from VIATOR is, we will refund you. I need to be compensated somehow.

John was an amazing and friendly guide. We learned so much from him and would recommend his tour to golf enthusiasts and non-golfers alike. The course is beautiful.

Learned about the history of golf and the course. We got to see golfers and see the terrain. We learned about the town and she answered questions about the places to eat and shop.

What a fantastic informative tour. John, our guide, was well informed and passed the information about the course and the many buildings history on so effortlessly. We, as a golfer and non golfer, found the tour very enjoyable. Highly recommend to others.

We had so much fun on this tour! My dad is a big golfer and loved learning about the history and walking the grounds. The guide was knowledgeable and made this experience fun for golfers and non-golfers!

Andrew, my tour guide, was a wealth of knowledge, polite, respectful and had heaps of interesting stories. He took the time to ask me questions so as to tailor my experience.

John was excellent and really gave us a lot of information about St Andrew’s. Best couple of hours, so worth it
Jeff_I, Sep 2025
John was our guide. He shared an incredible amount of information. All the history was great. He did work hard to shelter us from the wind since it was blowing over 50 mph at times. Took great pictures and knew all the right places for perfect shots.
Todd_O, Sep 2025
We just loved this experience with John. He had so much interesting facts about the Old Course and we loved walking part of the course with him. He pointed out fun facts and we just loved seeing the old course with our own eyes versus the camera. You definitely grasp the difficulty of the course in person. Highly recommend for any golf lover or fan of golf history. Sunday is the best day to visit when the old course becomes a park since there is no golfing.

You will learn so many neat facts about the golf course, the town, and university. Great time and great area! Btw, Carol is the best guide and knows all the best tidbits. Her knowledge of history along with her kind demeanor make her a superb guide.

John was absolutely amazing. The private tour was thoroughly enjoyed by our group. John was a wealth of knowledge, he has a true gift for story telling, and his passion for golf was contagious. This tour and tour-guide is highly recommended.
