Well worth a visit informative .Ladies in the cafe were lovely too. Scones were amazing and a right fine cup of tea . 🙏

Signposting to enter the event was poor . Many people including us wandered round in bemusement trying to find someone to accept our tickets . The Admission entrance wasn’t manned but eventually we discovered that the cafe was the place for admission ! Arriving at the cafe it was chaos , one person trying to manage an enormous queue of people , head sets ran out and then there was another long period of waiting in the corridor before being escorted to the start of the tour . We did enjoy our visit despite the kerfuffle at the beginning . It was interesting and informative but I think it could have been improved by a couple of staff being on hand to answer any questions about the exhibits .

We appreciate your comments regarding the signage, the unmanned admission entrance, the queue at the café and the availability of headsets. We understand how frustrating it must have been to spend time trying to work out where to go and then experience further delays before the tour began. Museum was absolutely amazing more than I expected. Well worth the trip from Dundee. Only thing I would say is wear a cosy coat and gloves as it’s freezing.

The conditions prisoners lived in then to now. No wonder prisoners re offend as they have warmth, food and Luxuries or tv’s and PlayStation.

The whole atmosphere and the way the prison has been preserved is so good. The stories are of actual events. The cafe is very good now a huge improvement on what it was. Well worth a visit

I found the whole experience very interesting. Having individual apps to give the stories as you walk around meant there was no pressure or time restraints.

It is a visit that seems like nothing much but one that surprises you until the end.
We went with my children aged 12 to 20 and they all loved it. I recommend it without a doubt.
