I would highly recommend this tour!!! Our tour guide Alan knew all the best spots for pictures at our various stops and kept us entertained along the drive. We got to see castles, quite a bit of the River Dee, and some small waterfalls. There were also plenty of bathroom stops and stops to take in the breathtaking scenery.

Great places we visited . Very nice guide . We could have spent more time at the places we visited . Too much rushing .
Timothy_C, Apr 2026
Excellent experience with a well versed guide. The guides know the ins and outs of local sites and stories. Darryl our Guide was the best for knowledge, fun and laughter.

What an amazing day! As a winter, Sunday tour we had all the sites completely to ourselves. Our guide Allan was absolutely wonderful. So glad I booked this trip from Aberdeen, the pictures from Dunnottar Castle alone are worth the price of the tour. Highly recommended. Thank you for a great day Rabbi's.

Marie_D, Sep 2025
This was an excellent exploration of Aberdeenshire, featuring Dunnottar Castle and following the River Dee through beautiful countryside. A really enjoyable day out. Our guide Alan was knowledgeable and engaging.
Helen_L, Sep 2025
Fantastic tour and Dunnottar Castle was definitely the highlight. The tour was well organised and our tour leader, Alan, was very friendly and informative. Would recommend this tour.
Joseph_B, Sep 2025
The tour was well organized, and the pace was good. The highlight was our guide, Alan, who made a point of remembering everyone’s names and was generally very solicitous throughout the day. He did a good job of informing us of what to expect and informing and enlightening us about what we would see and do. The scenery was spectacular, especially around Braemar. Overall, a great experience!

Our tour guide, Neil, was am actual gem, super prepared, lots of history, fun facts, pop culture facts, very knowledgeable overall, plus always made sure to accompany us everywhere and explain everything. There was never a dull moment with him. As for tue tour, it was my favourite so far. The castle was beautiful, but the Royal Deeside was the actual star of the show, beautiful nature and landscapes. Pictures do not do justice to it. It was like living inside a postcard.

Darryl’s great! We visited all advertised sites and even made a few more impromptu stops. Highly recommended.
Shearer_L, Aug 2025
It was a beautiful day. We happened upon a stone lifting competition and Darryl stopped. It was amazing side detour. Darryl was so fun and knowledgeable. Approachable with questions and allowed us to be in control of our tour. Would recommend it again and again. We had Darryl earlier in the week and my 12 year old niece was hoping it would be him again I was so glad it was.

Loved everything about this tour. Make sure you include this in your itinerary.
Kayla_d, Jul 2025
Wonderful experience. The castle was breathtaking. Great tour, recommend it. We travelled with two small children and two adults.
JeanGuy_H, Jul 2025
A lot of time in the bus to see falls without interest and highlander cows for the third time !
Just the Dunnotar castle was impressive.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. It looks like the tour was delivered as planned, with stops at Dunnottar Castle, Braemar, Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve, and the Falls of Feugh. We’re really glad you enjoyed Dunnottar but are disappointed the other sites didn’t capture your interest as much. We truly appreciate your honest thoughts and will use your feedback to continue improving the experiences we offer. Thanks again for choosing to travel with us!

Great tour of Dunnottar. Well worth it. Disappointed with the rest of the stops and time allocated to them. Would suggest that the tour be recast as castle tour and take in Balmoral and Breamar. Neal was an excellent tour guide.
Steven_P, Jul 2025
Perfect day trip - Allen was so personable and the tour stops were top notch. It delivered what was written and more. I will use Rabbie’s again for sure.
Galia_W, Jun 2025
My husband and I enjoyed the tour a lot. It's quite extensive, and you get a good look into the history and current life of Scotland and its people. The guide, Darryl, was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
Henry_J, May 2025
Extensive tour and beautiful varied scenery and sites. Thorough details and history from guide. Wear good walking shoes.
Janet_M, May 2025
That this tour especially that of the castle has a lot of walking and in some instances could be potentially hazardous.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Hi Janet,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. All our tours include a short amount of walking, and due to the age and remote location of some of the locations we always advise caution when visiting. All stops are completely optional and guests are welcome to do as much or as little as they like. Alternatively if customers are uncertain about the accessibility of each tour our team are more than happy to advise so they can make an informed decision before travelling.
Thanks,
Jo

Carol_V, May 2025
Full day packed with amazing scenery and interesting places. We had plenty of time to explore at each stop and our driver was informative and helpful
Deborah_E, Apr 2025
Excellent trip to Dunnottar Castle and was able to see other Castles in the nearby areas. Neal our tour host was very kind and informative with his wealth of knowledge of the areas we visited. For the Dunnottar experience was very interesting for me being that my Great Grandfather JW Keith descendants were of Keith Clan so a lot of history there for me.
Jessica_B, Mar 2025
We had a fantastic day, our guide Alan was exceptional. With Dunnottar castle closed Alan had organised a private tour of another castle within ten minutes. We were very lucky to have been able to see some of the famous hairy coos of the area as well as a quick photo op at the gates of balmoral.
The tour was great value and would recommend to everyone.
Andrea_L, Feb 2025
We had a wonderful tour with Neil. He was very accommodating to the weather and what everyone wanted. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He had some wonderful stories. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Thank you Neil and Rabbies!
Marella_G, Feb 2025
I booked without looking into any of the details and it was the best decision. Jim was an amazing guide and I had the best time.
ANDREJ_K, Dec 2024
Trip was beautiful. Dunnottar castle was great. If you love nature then the cairngroms park is worth to see it. We had beautiful weather. I will come back soon. Thanks to our driver Alan, he gave us all the informations.💪👍
Judith_H, Oct 2024
Alan was our tour driver.
He went above and beyond his call of duty to make our experience memorable.
He often lead us to entrances of exhibits, or to WC facilities. He took photos of us individually, and because we had some extra time he took us to a few extra attractions that weren't on our travel itinerary. Cant speak more highly of a tour guide.
A special thankyou Alan from Rabbies tours
Cheers Judy and Nev

Best tour ever! Neil was welcoming, very informative, safe driver and a lot of fun. Loved his first hand experiences with locals. He knew every area extremely well and there was no question he didn’t know the answer to. I have already recommended his tour to many others
DEBRA_B, Oct 2024
Great trip thoroughly enjoyable. Wonderful scenery and great guide. Highly recommend this trip 👌 Weather a bit rainy at times but the great guide and company more than made up for it.
