- Our Expert Guide will take you around the ancient town of Pompeii for 2 hours (Duration of the Tour) . Explore monuments and some of the most famous Houses of the Pompeii ruins. Opportunity, at the end of the tour, to stay in Pompeii to explore further on your own, (Return Train Ticket Valid All Day)! Its Important to not Exit the Site if you want to stay until closing, as if you do exit, you will need to pay for a New Entry. If you do not want to stay on, We suggest following the guide back to the trains and return together.
- On Very Hot Days, Please Bring Lots of Water to keep yourselves hydrated and wear sun protection, we advise to Bring a sunhat
- Listening devices from Sorrento (in English only) These are on Hire from an Independant Company, hence need to be returned to the guide at the end of the tour.
- We use the Circumvesuviana local train that runs daily.
- Not Recommended For Cruise Guests due to tight train schedules, and hence, we DO NOT meet Guests at Salerno Port/Station, or Naples Port/Station

A super tour with Gino our guide. We met at Sorrento Train Station. The travel was very easy and Gino gave us a really interesting tour of the key parts of Pompei. Highly recommend!
Our guide was great and made it an easy experience. She got us all on the train timely and provided a lot of information about our visit upfront so we were prepared for the walking of the historic site. She also did great at avoiding the crowds while also showing the highlights of Pompeii which allowed us to see more than expected
Roberta was very knowledgeable and did a great job of keeping the tour group together and allowing everyone to see the main sites. I would highly recommend.
Gino was a fantastic guide! He was so knowledgeable, and had a wonderful sense of humor, as well. We thoroughly enjoyed his playful banter along the way! We took an early morning tour, which was great, as the weather can get quite warm in the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Had a wonderful experience in Pompeii. Gino our tour guide was very knowledge and quite funny. We enjoyed the tour and the history lesson.
Make sure they send you your ACTUAL tickets before you leave the country. If the company tries to email or somehow contact you with real tickets 2 days prior and you are already out of the country try, high likelihood you may never get correspondence from them and they will cancel your reservation because they did not hear back from you…leaving you stranded… no pick up, no guide, no tour, no help…. A MESS and a wasted day. Happened to us yesterday in Sorrento Italy. When booking a tour from USA, go through a travel agency or to the website directly from the destination, not a middle man rep in US. With aviator, if it works right… great, you are lucky. If it doesn’t, you won’t know until you are stuck! Even though we were very frustrated and confused as to what to do to get the tour another way last minute, we made the best of it! Keep calm and make “lemonade out of lemons!”

hello i have asked viator to remove this review but they did not. this review is not for us the supplier as we offer the tour in Sorrento for which you were a no show. the above should be sent to the provider who took your payment and who in turn is responsibe for issuing your tickets and vouchers once booked with them, we are the final step, you come to Sorrento and take part in our tour, all the before is absolutely not our responsbility. And beyond our control as we are a travel agent in Sorrento not the booking platform you used. so please kindly direct your thoughts good or bad, to them instead of marking us down for something we did not do.

Our guide, Gino, was the best tour guide we’ve ever experienced. It was like he lived in Pompeii, everything he brought out was interesting and we loved his sense of humor. He made the experience. He also took very good care of us as a group, we all felt welcomed and taken care of. Pompeii was a sobering, fantastic tour. Don’t miss it!
The train was an hour and 1/2 late and when it did arrive we couldn’t get on because it was so packed. The tour company should have provided a bus or other means to get us there.

Totally untrue dear guests as the guide had 30 on the tour and would not have left the group to own devices
it was a busy day and unfortunately due to circumstances FAR beyond our Control, it was
due to a landslide rubble on train tracks a few trains were cancelled hence the late departure and trains very full due to this we can only apologise but was a force majeure situation
To say do not book with us is a bit harsh, but as mentioned apologies.

Lots to see and hear about. Carmen was our guide and she did a great job of keeping our group together. The train ride was rough being very crowded and hot. Carmen was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot nice job.

A perfect way to see and learn about Pompeii, guided by the amazing Gino! While the tour was short in duration, it was perfect for us to see the highlights. The train was also very easy to navigate with the help of the tour company.

Streep climb to start and to exit but otherwise level ground. Stepping stones could be slight problem for some but manageable.
Gino was a great guide - sharing personal stories of the people of Pompeii in a way that brought those ruins to life! He was animated and lively, keeping us moving through the tour and through time! Sometimes I could imagine i was back then living their lives (and sudden deaths!). Would recommend Gino's version of the tour to every one!

The guide we had (Gino ) was excellent it made our visit to Pompeii much easier to understand, than walking round yourselves highly recommended.
The tour was the perfect amount of time and our guide was very good and informative. The process was explained very well leading up to the tour and we had no issues finding our contact.
The meeting point and train part were very easy, if very crowded. The earpiece was not always working properly , or comfortable. Even though I was fairly near the guide it kept cutting out, I did say something but was told to stay close! I thought I’d already explained that it was happening whether I was close or not so that was a little frustrating . Also although she did say take your time etc at times she seemed to be walking quite quickly and with the crowds it wasn’t easy to see. Overall though I definitely recommend having a guide to really enjoy what you can see. I would suggest really researching what you want to see as we didn’t realise that there are certain areas that are blocked off to general access but can be visited via specifically arranged tours focusing on certain parts. Ours was a general tour.
Our guide Gino was super knowledgeable and funny to boot. We covered a lot of ground in two hours and he had plenty of interesting stories. I highly recommend this tour.

Although if you are looking for a VERY thorough tour, this may not be it, 2ish hours is not enough, you will need to venture off on your own afterwards..

Pompeii is a massive area to explore. Having Mena guiding us gave us so much knowledge, more than if we went on our own. She made Pompeii come to life. Would 100% recommend.
Gino led our group of ~25 tourists through a memorable visit to Pompeii. He was very knowledgeable, incredibly passionate about Pompeii, and for a guy who’s not a native English speaker he’s quite funny which added some levity in the heat. You could save a few bucks and tour the site with the aid of a map of Pompeii but it wouldn’t be the same. Ask Gino about the Pink Floyd show in the (nearly) empty amphitheater in 1971.
This was a great tour! It's very open and sunny so bring a water bottle and the guide was great at pointing out fountains you could refill in. Pompeii is huge, so this tour was great to see the highlights while also being able to stay after the tour if there was more areas that you want to explore on your own!

Meeting at the train station in Sorrento was smooth and meant we could travel as a group. The tour itself was great and while we could only scratch the surface of the site the history of the site was covered well. The guide was great and it is always easier to learn new information when good humour and jokes are involved.

Tour just as advertised. Easy train ride. Two hour walk through Pompeii was enough to see most of the major highlights. Mena was very nice and an excellent guide. She provided a great overview of the history of Pompeii. Would definitely recommend!

The train however was very packed with no air conditioning and on the way back no seats available!
I would probably choose to go by coach if I were to go again!
