Easy and fun. Saw jellyfishes and a seal in the water. Many beautiful waterfalls. You see pulpit from the waters. Guide is friendly and knowledgeable. Meeting spot is less than 5 minutes walk from cruise ship. They provide gears so you don’t need to bring a jacket. If you do, they hold your stuff for you in a dry bag on boat.

This excursion was a complete 10/10! The scenery is absolutely stunning, our tour guide was funny and informative. Everything ran smoothly and was on time. Easy to find coming off the ship, they met us right at port. Plenty of time to explore the glacier national park, take pictures and visit the extraordinary landscape. I will remember this for a lifetime!

An energizing way to experience the beauty of fjord. Informative, up close and so fun! We highly recommend.

The walk up to the glacier was breathtaking, quite steep in places but not too difficult as the paths were very stable.

Don't Miss This!

This one shouldn't be missed! Berta was an excellent guide and Norway Excursions made it so easy especially when our ship docked at Loen, not Olden. We were concerned about meeting up but they had two guides, one at each place(about 6 miles from each other). The scenery was spectacular and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. There is no need to go with the on board excursions when a company like this is handling the details. The icing on the cake was a delightful guide whom we really enjoyed meeting. Thank you, Norway Excursions for a most memorable day!

Good tour. Pickup and drop-off is at the pier just where you disembark. I booked a separate Troll car to coincide with the timing of this tour. Overall everything worked great. Views are terrific!

Poor service

Kevin_G, Aug 2026
Take care. The operator changed the time of our tour and we didn’t get the message and they would not refund the fees

Response from Host, Aug 2026

We are sorry that you missed your tour. However, the change of departure time was communicated clearly several times during the week prior to the excursion, both by us and by Viator, where you booked your tour. In addition, when you did not arrive at the meeting point, we made several attempts to contact you by telephone and through messages via Viator. We waited and tried to reach you for more than 15 minutes, but unfortunately received no response. It is therefore surprising that you were able to contact us via the Viator messaging system approximately one hour after the tour had already started, while we were unable to reach you beforehand. Our Terms & Conditions, including our cancellation and refund policy, are clearly stated at the time of booking. As the booking was made through Viator, you are of course welcome to contact Viator directly if you wish to discuss their handling of the booking. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund in this situation, as the tour operated as scheduled and the updated departure time had been communicated in advance.

Very kind, cheerful guide during the bus transport with many interesting infos. Beatiful breathtaking places

Felicia_P, Aug 2026
Very kind, cheerful guide during the bus transport with many interesting infos. Back we asked to stop in the city and they did where the bus was able to stop. The stop is not easy on this way. Beatiful breathtaking places, no animal, we had perfect weather. I offer it everybody. If you are with wheelchair I think you can have a trollcar at the glacier to see this beautiful place - about 3-400 NOK. Important: norvergian trips has NO weather garanty and you are able to cancel it just 1 day before. That would be fine if norvegian trip companies will find out another plan for bad weather, for example to have free norvegian waffle if you cannot see anything. Usually norvegian do not care so much, it a little price form them, but we have saved a lot of money to see Norvay once!

Judi_K, Aug 2026
It’s a bit of a hike to the top, but you can get good views of the falls along the way if you’re 78 with recent hip surgery and it’s pouring rain.😄. I didn’t make it all the way, but it was a great hike anyway.

Expensive bus ride

David_B, Aug 2026
The excursion to Briksdal glacier was bill as small group trip. We were 4adults and 2 children 9&11. We boarded a 50 seater coach with probably 20 people. It advertised a couple of stops on route to see things. We didn’t stop until we got to the coach park. We were told what time they expected us back on the bus. Nothing more. The journey took 40 mins to get there. 45 mins to get back. We walked to the top unguided and back. 5 min stop on way back to the ship to take photo by the lake . Cost for a coach trip £463.00. Not value for money.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the excursion did not meet your expectations. However, this is not simply a coach transfer to Briksdal Glacier. Our coaches and our minibuses are brand new, comfortable and modern, and the excursion is operated with a dedicated guide, who accompanies the group throughout the tour. At the glacier, the walk is intentionally unguided so that guests can explore the area at their own pace. Our guide remains at the back of the group to accompany and assist the slower walkers and to ensure everyone gets back safely. Regarding the stops, we are sorry if you felt that there were not enough opportunities to stop along the route. The timing of the excursion is carefully planned around the ship’s schedule, traffic conditions and the time available at the glacier. We do include a short photo stop by the lake on the return journey. The tour description clearly states what is included and what guests can expect. If you were looking for a private vehicle, flexible stops and a fully guided walk, a private tour or taxi would indeed have been more suitable. This is a shared excursion, and Norway is unfortunately not a low-cost destination, so even organised excursions can be relatively expensive. Thank you again for your feedback.

Amazing Briksdal Tour

Corinne_L, Aug 2026
The tour guide Danny was great - he went over a lot of the history and scenery of Olden. The hike up to the glacier had amazing views. We had plenty of time to walk up enjoy the view and take pictures. Highly recommend- Danny where I can get Norwegian waffle with brown cheese-which was delicious.

Go hike!!!

Glaciar at a didtance

Harvi_B, Aug 2026
We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise, but we chose this excursion from Viator. It was a nice tour, lots of walking, which was fun, those who cannot walk can get some more drive and golf cart type conveyance at an extra price. We visited during the third week of July; the weather was hot, around 80 F. I thought it was close to the glacier, but it was far, far away, and nothing like Alaskan tour glaciers. The waterfall on the way was amazing, and there were other waterfalls in the mountains in the distance. This was a good place to buy souvenirs at the tour bus stop area.

Faultless excursion!

The_F, Aug 2026
Fantastic experience, would highly recommend. Very well ran from cruise port collection to return drop-off. Modern air conditioned coach to travel to the glacier with comfortable seating.

Waterfalls and Glaciers...

Camellia_T, Aug 2026
Waterfalls and Glaciers are so beautiful! I enjoyed walking from the trail head to the glacier although it was raining 1/3 of the time. I think this tour is better than the one with trolley because we can stop and take pictures anytime we want. Everywhere is pretty!

Incredible Birksdal Glacier

Kevin_O, Aug 2026
Convenient trip with plenty of time to explore the beauty of Birksdal Glacier. Bus boarded right outside the cruise gate.

Great hike to glacier

Great tour for anyone wanting a good hike. Great views and waterfalls. Our guide was fabulous. Highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in a 4 mile hike.

Great place

Daniel_B, Jul 2026
Great place to visit. Absolutely gorgeous. Glacier is totally worth it. A little bit of a hike. Little steep but enough time to make it and stay for a bit at the end of the trail

The excursion was very...

ANDREW_H, Jul 2026
The excursion was very nice. The right it could be clearer on how the excursion was going to be managed. We assumed our excursion leader was going to escort us to the lake at the top by the glacier. The excursion leader simply said be sure to be heading back from the lake at 12:00 to be ready to get on the bus at 1:10. That said the excursion leader was very pleasant and quite informative.

Amazingly Beautiful Part of Our World

Elyse_W, Jul 2026
The hike to the glacier is challenging for older adults who are not used to uphill hikes. The trollcars looked like a good alternative. Visitor should consider offering trollcar reservation as an add-on to base price for those who would opt that. Might expand numbers who book the tour.

A great day

Claudia_H, Jul 2026
Amazing views, hiking trails, and the sunniest day of the year so far! Challenge yourself to make it to the top.

Fabulous day trip, pickup and drop off as described. Tour operator was very informative and explained many local traditions.

Briksdal Glacier trip

Mark_C, Jul 2026
Easy to find the rep when we stepped off the ship. The coach was very comfortable and prompt. I would say the “hike” to the glacier was not what I would describe as a hike. There is a gravel path which is quite steep in some parts and flat in others but if you are moderately fit it’s not an issue. It took about 1hr to walk from the car park to the lake/glacier - make sure you take water to sip on your walk if it’s warm. The next stop was 10 mins at the lake, it was stunning and we managed to get some amazing photos Our tour rep was very informative and helpful and helped make this a great trip

Chad_R, Jul 2026
Great hike! Some areas are a little steep but can still be completed at a fairly leisurely pace. Views of the lake at the top are worth every step it takes to get there! Excellent cafe at the bottom with sandwiches and drinks.

Jonathan_C, Jul 2026
Incredible hike with waterfalls and scenic views everywhere you look. A little strenuous once you start but levels out as you get closer to the top.

Perfect Trip

Tammy_M, Jul 2026
This was an amazing trip with great information shared during the bus ride to the glacier. Be sure to listen to the guide during the bus ride to learn about the area and the history of the glacier. Once at the glacier, we were on our own and able to walk at our own pace, which was perfect. We walked all the way to the glacier lake which was WELL WORTH IT. Our whole group was super happy with the entire trip! PS - Don't drive yourself. The roads are very narrow and all drivers need to be aware of the road rules. We were very grateful for the expertise of our bus driver!

Exceptional Glacier.

Skyler_S, Jul 2026
AMAZING, glacier and Trek are great. Now, I couldn't hike up the hill but my wife did and I hiked down with her instead of using the cart to come down. I would recommend that of you can do it. The falls are amazing, the most spray was amazing. I know we got lucky all week with the weather being wonderful but it was in the mid 70's and no rain. The number of falls you see on the way is also really nice. I know I ask alot, but on these longer bus rides, history of the country or area would be nice to hear.
