Bring a hat. Bring sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Very informative tour learning the fishing culture, exploring the market. Our tour guide Heng taught us a great deal about the religious beliefs regarding the Hindu/Bhuddist religions. The island temple was beautiful.

AJ was an outstanding guide - warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to share his culture. His knowledge of the local people and area made the tour truly insightful. After seeing the village by boat and on foot you’ll experience an epic sunset and a genuine view into rural Cambodian life. AJ made sure all of our special requests were taken care of, which made the experience even more memorable. Our driver, Bo, was equally polite and welcoming, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey throughout. We highly recommend this tour - thank you for such an amazing and unforgettable experience!

Mr. Chong did an amazing job taking us for a river tour. Thank you so much for a short time arrangement as well! This has been great!

This was one of the best things that we did throughout our trip. The whole experience was fascinating and our guide, Chong, did all that he could to ensure that we had a great time. In fact we would give this 6 stars! We did, however, make sure that we visited when the water is high ( from about October to January I believe, but worth checking).

Jack, our English speaking tour guide, was amazing, as well as the driver. They showed up slightly earlier than scheduled. When found out that we were in the lobby waiting, they immediately picked us up and started the excursion. Though I didn’t realize when booking that this would be a private tour. They communicated about the $22/pp boat ride beforehand so there was no surprises. Jack also suggested us to take the canal ride which was $11/boat and fit up to 2 ppl. The entire experience was magical and you really got to get a glimpse of how people live. Jack was also helpful in answering all kinds of questions. Would definitely use him again for tours!

For people reading this review and to avoid what happened to us , this tour is for when is rainy season , otherwise you will walk through the village and I was expecting to view the village by boat .
Also there was no manglares to see as they were dry .
So if you don’t mind taking a tour that will not meet your expectations just go in dry season as it is interesting to see the village and also the boat ride in the lake.
The tour guide was very nice and accommodating as it was not his fault BUT if I had read somewhere what to expect in dry season I would had not book it
Totally recommended in rainy season (I think 🤷♀️)

Absolutely amazing it has to be in the top of best tours ever. I was a little hesitant as it was dry season but it was wonderful. Saw the children in schools, playing in the street.
What a simple wonderful way of life.
Our tour guide Meng deserves 10 stars he was very informative easy to understand.

Our floating city tour was an incredible experience from start to finish! The driver/guide was prompt, extremely knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make our visit both informative and enjoyable. Their insights about the history, culture, and daily life in the floating city truly enriched our understanding and appreciation of this unique destination. The tour was well-organized, allowing us to take in breathtaking views while also learning fascinating details along the way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable and immersive experience!

We had an incredible time on the Kompong Phluk Floating Village Half-Day Tour! Our guide, Mare, was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing insights into the local culture and history.
Mare provided us with so much interesting information about the floating village, its people, and the unique way of life there. We really appreciated how flexible the tour was; they even made an extra stop just for us, which made the experience feel even more personal and special.
The scenery was stunning, and we felt well taken care of throughout the entire trip. Everything was well-organized, and the boat ride through the village and flooded forest was truly unforgettable.
We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Siem Reap. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Thank you, Mare, and the team, for making this such a memorable experience!

Despite booking weeks in advance and getting a reminder email the night before; no one showed up! I called and was told they forgot and they asked if could take trip next day! What a bunch of bull! Wasted day waiting for 230pm pickup. Will never use Viator again and recommend others don’t either.

I had a great experience of Kampong Phluk, my driver cum guide Vishal was prompt in picking me up from my hotel and he explained the culture and lifestyle of the people living in Kampong Phluk on way to the place which made it interesting, I could relate his stories with the lifestyle of the people living there while on the boat tour, he even customised my tour because of my time constraints.
On the whole it was a memorable experience and I would rate guide Vishal very highly.

Jack was my private tour guide. The price was reasonable as the private tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and energetic to explain not only the site but also history and related stories. The tour was fun and at the same time educational.

It was a great experience - our guide Meng shared a lot of information related to floating village and Cambodia it self.
It's good idea to take a canoe trip ($5.5 - you can pay by visa)
Best part for me it was time when on open lake boat driver allowed me drive his boat. Great experience l!
Highly recommend this trip (please keep in mind, that boat ride tickets are not included - $25 per person)

What an amazing experience. We saw the floating village, got to chat with Jack and Mr. Ye about Cambodian life and even took a little canoe ride through the Mangroves. Lovely day. BTW, we chose the private tour because it left in the morning, but even though we didn’t see the beautiful sunset, the experience with one on one conversation was well worth it. If you can budget a private tour, ask for Jack and Mr. Ye,

Our Tour Guide Mr Jack and driver Mr Ya were on time for pick and Jack thoroughly explained our itinerary for the trip with intricate details of the history, traditions and overall background of the Floating village. This trip is must for any travelers. I highly recommend Mr Jack our Tour Guide and his driver Mr Ya as they are highly professional and friendly. They go out of their way to help you and provide valuable tips and recommendations to do things at Siem Reap

Our driver Jack was a wonderful guide.
He explained a lot about Cambodian culture, which got my husband extremely interested.
(He is currently doing volunteer work in Cambodia )
The driver Sros was also very kind to our big party of 7 including 3 small children.
If you want a happy energetic guide, Jack is your person!

We really enjoyed our tour of the floating village and boat trip. The local fishing people were very interestingto watch go about there work. Jack our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our driver Nal was very polite and professional. The kids enjoyed the trip and as they were under 10 the weren't charged for the boat ride. Thank you

We were aware that it was the dry season and the village was not going to be floating but we still booked this trip whilst in Australia. People need to experience the life commitments of the fishermen and their families during the wet season and the dry season. We did get onto a boat and travelled out onto the lake. So surreal and peaceful. Thank you to our tour guide he did an amazing job answering our questions. We came away entranced by the experience. The people, the kids riding bikes (obviously they cannot do this in the wet season), the hairdresser, the men offering 80% alcohol content beer at 10:30 in the morning (obviously hot), and the tattoo pallor (no needle if you mind). Thank you Kompng Phluk Floating Village may you forever remain unchanged.

The pick up was punctual, the car was clean and our guide was really nice. The problem occurred when he told us we need to pay 80 USD extra!!! for the boat ride on top of the price we paid for the trip. In the description of the trip was written that "Boat trip on the Tonle Sap and entrance fees are included". I have read carefully the small print before booking the trip and even thought to myself what a correct provider as it was written: "You will be offered to go for a 15 minutes tour through the flooded Mangroves forest on a small boat (is it not included in the price just 5 USD for small boat ) which is a great break on your way to TonLe Sap where you will be able to experience local fauna and flora." So in the end it turned out that they don't mean the small boat ride not included, but the boat on the lake, which I find totally misleading, as no further fee is mentioned in the description. The tour in the village was good and we would have given the full starts if the company was correct and have done as advertised. Please be careful and avoid this tour!

Great tour, maybe better to do when the water is higher but still very interesting and our guide was very good and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

The Cambodians are wonderful people and this trip showed us a part of Cambodia that was very special to us. Our guide was Meng, what a fabulous young man and a fantastic guide, and Mr Roth was our driver, who was great. Meng it was a pleasure to meet you and learn about the local culture. After visiting the local market, which is a must, we went on to Kompong Phluk floating village. It's the dry season now so no floating village because of the water level, but this did not matter we had a fantastic time. Once out on the lake we visited one of the floating restaurants which was great. What a great tour thank-you.
Suyambu_C, Mar 2024
Good guide. Good vehicle. Very willing and hardworking boat person. Inspite of the water being low, had a great glimpse of the river people's life.
Lynn_W, Feb 2024
Fabulous visit to see how people live. The sunset on the lake was awesome. Samurai was a brilliant guide and the whole trip was well organised.
Katelyn_M, Feb 2024
Great half day trip with Indra through the Kompong Phluk floating market. Communication and pick up were timely with water provided throughout the trip. The village was lovely and you have the opportunity to walk through a local market and have lunch at a floating restaurant. Highly recommend this experience and guide if you are in the area!!
Diana_C, Feb 2024
I was worried this tour wouldn't be very good, given that I went during dry season, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It was WONDERFUL! I couldn't recommend it enough. My guide, Mr. Sophal was also absolutely fantastic!
KADIR_Y, Jan 2024
Highly recommend for this tour , our guide and driver were very polite . Tour absolutely amazing and fantastic .

This tour was exactly what we were looking for before early evening flights out of Siem Reap. It was low key but interesting, informative and enjoyable and just the right amount of time (picked up at 9 a.m., returned about 1 p.m.). Win was an excellent guide. He took us through the local market pointing out unusual fruits and veggies and explaining the unique aspects of the market. We visited the stilt house village in dry season, so we walked through it and he talked about life there in both the dry and wet seasons, then we boarded a small boat to head out to the lake and have a snack on a floating restaurant. Everything was well-organized and made easy for us. I would definitely recommend.
