Chen was an amazing tour guide; really kind, funny and knowledgeable. The temples were stunning and the snacks, meals and water top-ups made me feel very looked after. The cycling was more challenging than I expected but doable and really glad I chose this tour. Would recommend Chen to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

The early 4:30 AM start was absolutely worth it. Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat from the bike was stunning — one of those moments you don't forget. Our guide Soun, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, making the history come alive throughout the tour. The trails were more challenging than I expected, but in the best way — it added a real sense of adventure to the experience. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see Angkor differently and isn't afraid of a little workout. 10/10 would do it again

What a memorable day trip. We had a great tour guide called Muen. He was very knowledgeable could answer any questions and spoke great English. I am not an experienced bike rider but could handle the ride. The breakfast and lunch was great. Muen made the whole tour so much fun with his fun personality and his great photography skills. Great way to see the temples.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s fantastic to hear that Muen made your day trip memorable with his knowledge, English skills, and fun personality. I’m glad to know that the bike ride, even for someone less experienced, was manageable and that you enjoyed the meals. It sounds like Muen’s photography skills added an extra touch to your tour of the temples. We’re so happy you had a great time!

We got to watch the sunrise over a
Ankor Wat temple before heading off to a local village for breakfast and pick up our bikes. We rode to 2 temples on bush tracks past lots of local villagers homes. The paths are sandy and a bit slippery so if you’re not confident it will be a bit of a challenge. It’s all mostly flat and the trees give you shade. Lots of break stops for water and fruit. Our guide Sambo was wonderful and very passionate about the temples we visited. The local lunch on the way home was very good quality.

The guide from Grasshopper tours, esp Bun Bath, was awesome! Super knowledgeable and knew the best spots to take pictures. Also taking a bicycle tour allowed us to see so much in so little time. This was an amazing tour, and I felt like it was also an amazing value. There was SO MUCH FOOD provided for you. Breakfast isn't until around 0700, but after that there's snack time around 1000 and then lunch time around 1200. The food was all so authentic and local and good. At Angkor Wat, you are likely to only go here once in your life, get a great guide like this tour comes with and make the most of it.

One of our favorite activities of our 3 week trip to SE Asia! Our guide was wonderful. Bikes were in great condition. We loved the adventure of riding through the jungle on a flat, easy single-track between sites. The food and people were amazing. if you like a day of both walking (around the sites) and biking, do it!

We booked the 4.30am sunrise mountain bike tour with Grasshopper Adventures. Our guide was very knowledgeable, articulate and funny. He knew the right spot to wait for the sunrise and how to miss certain peak times @ temples to ensure the best viewing & photo opportunities. A brilliant way to see the temples on a bike winding through the forest (ahh the shade it gives). We are both casual bike riders (not mountain bikes) so we found the 23km easy & enjoyable, with stops for breakfast, lunch (delicious - take recommendations from guide) and fruit snack along with stops @ all temples.

My husband and I very much enjoyed this tour. Chen, our guide, did a great job guiding us around and we always knew what to expect. The sunrise portion of this was very crowded with tourists and it was cloudy so we did not see much of the sunrise over the temple but what we did see was very pretty. For those of you who may be wondering if you can do this tour, my answer is yes, you can. I am 66 and my husband is 67 and we did not have difficulty on this tour. We did run into some sand and some mud, but it all ended well. Chen did a great job warning us when we were coming up on something to avoid. If you can ride a bike, you can do this tour. Breakfast was good, lunch was good, and the bike ride portion was fun.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience on the tour. We're delighted to hear that Chen, your guide, did an excellent job guiding you both throughout the day. Despite the crowd and cloudy weather during the sunrise, we're glad you enjoyed the overall experience, including the bike ride. We appreciate your reassurance for others considering the tour, especially mentioning that age is not a limitation.
We hope to welcome you both on more exciting adventures in the future.

Early start... Was ferry by the guides' van to our starting point at Angkor Wat.
Watch the spectacular sunrise & a delightful breakfast in the village. Western continental with a chef cooking your eggs!
Then our bike ride started through village and lunch in the village. Easy bicycle ride and later, ferry by van to our lunch at a Cambodian restaurant. Delicious food!
Our bike guides were very experience and friendly.
Great day out! No rain was a bonus!

Our guide vichea and the rest of the crew were excellent. The food was plentiful and excellent. Eating breakfast at a shelter in the woods was a nice experience. The bike ride through the forest was excellent and the information provide about all the temples we visited was very informative. There was plenty of time to wander around and take photos. My daughter and I were in a group with 4 other people so the numbers were good. I would highly recommend this tour!

The guys were very knowledgeable and great guides. The equipment was great and better than I expected! I would book this again

I loved seeing the sun rise over Angkor Wat and then touring the temple which had been on my bucket list for many years. The reason I say know what you are signing up for is because we did 22 km through the jungle on a mountain bike which even me who is in pretty good shape was tired and very sore at the end of the day. If you can handle it this tour is a lot of fun.
Rachel T, Jan 2020
I loved this day! I thought biking was so fun and a great way to get from temple to temple, as well as take in additional sights such as local landmarks and villages. Grasshopper took care of every detail for us. Would highly recommend! I do think our tour guide could have been a bit more thorough in some places on the temple tours but I think part of that may have been due to a language barrier, and it was great that he was a local of the area.
Jennifer_W, Apr 2019
this was a great tour! Roem our tour guide was great. there was one other couple with us, so a small group. We were able to see the sunrise and Angkor Wat and then had breakfast and got on our bike to see the other temples. Getting to the other temples by bike was awesome. we went through trails to get there so we weren't on main roads. And we were able to see parts of cambodia that we would never have seen by foot or by car. Also it was cooler under the trees and one bike then just walking around so the bike portion was a great way to break up the trip.

This was really a worthwhile excursion! It was a long day, but the best way to see all the sites in a single day. So glad to have found this!

Mr. Soda was our guide. He was so fantastic, and I do not have enough kind words to say about him. He was happy, funny, extremely knowledgeable of history and legend combined, and he was wonderfully patient with my 10 year old daughter. This was THE HIGHLIGHT of our entire trip in Asia. Soda took us to all of the temples and knew exactly where to take the best pictures which were ALL MIND BLOWING shots! It was truly an adventure of a lifetime, and we will never forget it. This is a MUST DO activity. Worth every penny.

I was kind of dreading this tour once I got to Siem reap and I felt the heat. However when tour day came, little did I realize how cooling it would be to bike in between the temples. We got to go through local villages, see water buffalo, monkeys and elephants. I highly recommend this tour. It was very much relaxed and while no one was racing you should be in decent physical shape. You go up and down a few hills and its very sandy. It is not a flat paved road. Also we got lucky and it didn't rain while we were biking but bring a poncho in case. Also listen to your tour guide, it was so worth the money to have someone educate us about each temple.

Awesome!!! Words cannot express how amazing this tour was for my full experience in Cambodia. I enjoyed every single minute, tour guides were not only very knowledgeable of the history but also very friendly and helpful. I had lots of fun on my ride with a family from New Zealand. Food was delicious and up to the standards. Although I have not ridden a bike for quite a long time due to a back problem and I even fell a few bruises a few days later on my trip : , I was able to make it to the end... thanks to the help and patience of the entire group. I would definitely recommend this tour at a 100 for solo travelers like myself or families, it was a very different but a pleasant way to visit Angkor Watt. BIG THANK YOUUUU!!
grezch, Dec 2017
Our tour guide was very well informative, throw him any questions even Cambodia’s history in khemer regime, he’ll give you details. Though I was like hitching into a family’s guided tour, the group is very much accommodating and fun to go along with. A great experience indeed!
Michael R, Dec 2017
In my opinion the best way to discover and enjoy the temples
LISA K, Dec 2017
Well paced trip through the temples. Guide leads you through the off-beaten tracks to get away from the crowds and experience the sights and sounds in a natural way. Well organised and executed!
Wolfgang N, Dec 2017
Very good and informative tour. Highly recommended.

AMAZING TOUR!!! Doing this on a bike was for sure the best way to do it. It felt like we were going backstage to see things no one else gets to see. And the guide was fantastic!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Lynn F, Oct 2017
Would highly recommend this tour if traveling with teenagers or adult children. Away from most of the crowded touristy spots - the bike guide took us behind the scenes of the park and biking through the beautiful green forest gave us more shade and quiet off the main road ways. Even with a little rain shower, this was the highlight of our trip. Totally worth the 4am wake up call.

Got excellent very personal service. Guide Sophat Phal was very good, particularly in the biking portion through the jungle trails. He knew all the best spots to take photos.
Pritish A, Aug 2017
Amazing guide, he had a wealth of knowledge and was very friendly. We loved cycling around all the temples on our bikes, going through forests and seeing small villages along the way as well. Stunning routes and learning a lot, can't get any better.
Peter H, Aug 2017
This tour was fantastic! There was only 3 people in my group. The ride was quite easy and was a great way to get from location to location and see some sites that other tours would not see. I have recommended to all my friends to see Angkor this way.
Aaron R, Jul 2017
Amazing tour. I really enjoyed the mountain biking element of the tour. Our guide, Som, was particularly knowledgeable about each temple and knew the best angle and positions to get amazing photos at each. His passion for tourism was clear and his energy and enthusiasm made the 25km fly by. It was a nice inclusion that Som had a GoPro and took photos of us all along the way. I over estimate the dresscode for the temples and wore long pants, but due to the mountain biking element, I would highly recommend having a pair of shorts. Our water bottles were filled up regularly, and the support car would meet us a most of the temples. The included food was delicious.
LihVei_O, Apr 2017
Mr Sambo is awesome. He is a non assuming guy who loves his country heritage and this is shown in his account of history he told throughout the day. The tour is as it described, i even had a flat tyre on the day which got fixed by Sambo in no time! Lovely cooled breakfast and lunch at local resto!
Karen H, Apr 2017
Wonderfully organised, everything went well and the only reason I haven't given a perfect score is to do with me, not the organisation. I 'discovered' that cannot ride a bike! Well, not for want of trying, I was training at home on my exercise bike, having last ridden a bike over 40 years ago, and unfortunately I was rather overwhelmed by gears and brakes and proceeded to fall over twice before going anywhere. Oh dear! Well the lovely guide and support crew had me ride in the support minivan and I met the group, 3 others and the guide at each temple. The breakkie and lunch were lovely and the guide, Sam, was very knowledgable and took the time to answer any questions. The sunrise was very special, we got there very early but as Sam explained, we were in the best position and all the spaces around us filled up as sunrise neared. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour for all those normal people out there who can ride a bike.
