Horseback riding on the beach

We so enjoyed our hour with Mesari Stables and could easily have continued for another hour! The two staff members who accompanied us were fun to talk with, were sensitive to our different levels of familiarity with riding - and were by our sides to ensure that we had a great time as well as being safe. Nothing is quite like riding a horse on the beach. It was definiely worth booking this experience.

Really disappointing and honestly unsafe

Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience. From the beginning, the guides didn’t seem particularly attentive. During the ride they were smoking and generally appeared disengaged rather than focused on the horses or the safety of the riders. Partway through the ride, the horse my partner was on became unpredictable. It reared up onto its hind legs and he was thrown off. The horse started circling and charging toward the horse I was riding. It did two fast laps like that and it felt completely out of control. My partner had to run over, help me off my horse, and we ran up the beach to get away from it. The guides didn’t respond with any real urgency and didn’t seem overly concerned about what had just happened. They eventually removed the horse and we later learned it was very young, which raises questions about why it was being used for beach rides in the first place. They did not provide another horse for my partner to continue the ride, so the experience was effectively over for him after the fall. The horse I was riding was 20 years old and looked tired and under-conditioned. It didn’t appear particularly well cared for, which was also concerning. To add to the discomfort, when we returned, we found out our local guide had been told to wait outside in the alley despite there being plenty of seating and no other guests inside the stable area. That felt unnecessary and uncomfortable to witness. My partner’s leg and hip were injured from this. Overall, the whole experience felt poorly managed and unsafe. We would not recommend this company.

The experience was poor....

The experience was poor. Out of an hour long experience, it last only 30 mins and there was no one to help to take photos so we had to end up taking the photos ourselves at close range (as we were all on the horses) and ended up with most of the images with the horses cut out. For an experience that is USD $200 this was not worth the money and definitely let my kids feeling very unsatisfactory an no good photos for lasting memory.

Beautiful Horses, Great Staff, Memorable Ride

We had a wonderful time riding horses at sunset. The beach ride was peaceful and relaxing, and we would love to do it again. The guides were friendly, accommodating, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The horses were well-groomed, gentle, and easy to ride. The stables were clean and well-kept, and the staff welcomed us with bottled water and provided lockers for our belongings. Overall, it was an excellent experience—completely different from what some of the negative reviews suggested.

Not worth the money

Waste of money. “Professional guides” our guides were smoking and on their phone voice chatting the entire time . Horses are kept on a lead the entire walk. Photos we got taken of us didn’t even have the sunset in the back which is what you would expect when booking a sunset horse ride. Pretty disappointing, wouldn’t recommend to others.
