Sapa Original Trek is a wonderful experience. Mr Tinh organised my trek for me and was in constant communication with me to make sure I was ready for the day. The company organised a pick up car from the hotel and back, making transport very easy. They provide you with raincoats (you get to keep them) and enough food and water for the whole experience.
My hiking guide’s name was Mr Choo. Mr Choo was a very experienced hiker who has been climbing mountains in Sapa region 2-3 times a week since 2016/2017. He was very knowledgeable about the mountains, even showing me medicinal herbs and plants that could be eaten or foraged.
Mr Choo was very patient and adjusts his pace according to your abilities. If you are not fit or experienced, he will guide you through the whole process patiently and kindly.
The hike is not difficult if you are moderately fit. It is not a technical climb but there are steep inclines that require you to climb ladders.
The food made by Mr Choo during the hike is delicious and plentiful. My girlfriend and I were served so much food that we couldn’t eat it all. We had a large bread roll with chicken, egg and fresh vegetables. There was chilli sauce as well if you like a bit of spice. We were served several local fruits that were washed, peeled and neatly served on a plate. We were also given Vietnamese snacks that we could eat then or save for the remainder of the hike.
Once you reach the summit, you are awarded with a certificate of completion and a medal. It’s a nice feeling to receive it and you appreciate that the tour guide has recognised your efforts.
After the hike, you have the option of taking the cable car back down or walking back down. The cable car is a nicer way to end it because you get to enjoy the views on the way down and appreciate how far you just hiked! If you choose the cable car option, the driver that initially drove you to the mountain will meet you near Muong Hoa station and drive you back to your accommodation.
Overall, the organisation and overall experience of the day trek was excellent. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is in Sapa and I am thankful to Mr Tinh and his team for their wonderful services.

Our guide was excellent. It was a tough climb up but he was very patient with us and didn't push us to go quicker at any time. We decided to get the cable car down (only approx 10-15% of people have the energy to walk down as well, though the cable car costs approx $45 AUD per person so make sure you take a way to pay with you). Our guide spoke excellent English and we had chats throughout the day. Hotel pickup was smooth and the lunch (bahn mi or noodles) provided by our guide and eaten towards the top of the mountain was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend but you must have a good level of fitness of tackle it, bearing in mind you climb from approx 2000m above sea level to over 3000m so the altitude can also effect your capacity. Highly recommend.

Mr Tinh was amazing! He was very friendly and hospitable. He picked us up from the hotel, offered us a room to freshen up before taking our overnight bus back to Hanoi, he even dropped us off at the bus station. The guide Mr Choo was so kind and friendly. He checked in with us from time to time throughout the hike! We had a great experience! Thank you Mr Tinh and Choo.

Great private trekking tour to the top of Fansipan! We both found the hike very challenging (30 year olds who both ran marathons in the past 3 months). The elevation gain is no joke. Very rewarding in the end!

What a beautiful hike! The tour organizer Mr Tinh was extremely on top of it and very responsive to all our questions. Our guide Choo was great- my friend and I were definitely on the slower side but he paced us well and gave us lots of encouragement especially close to the end of the hike. He showed us lots of the wildlife on the way up (water buffalo, snakes, bird eggs, etc) and brought snacks for us / made a delicious lunch! If you are a less rigorous hiker it’s good to check what time the cable car closes that day (we went on a day it closed at 4, and finished our hike around 3) in case you are planning on taking it down. The hike is beautiful but as a heads up is quite steep with a lot of stairs! We did this hike in April an the weather was great - in the big 60s/low 70s with on and off visibility since we were hiking in clouds.

Great hiking day!
Challenging and fun
Private is wayyyy better than group. Book this!
Even if it's rainy or cloudy it is worth doing!
And my guide Chi made amazing lunch and our driver was so helpful letting me use the shower afterwards, and showing me where to go in Sapa and how to catch the bus back to Lao Cai station.

This was an amazing and fulfilling experience. My guide Cho was patient, calm and made sure I was safe during my trek. It was a challenging hike if you are not prepared or used to hiking inclines. But every step was worth it and I am beyond happy that I got to experience it.

It was a fantastic experience, immersed in nature and surrounded by the beauty of the Vietnamese mountains! The hotel pick-up service was very punctual and the car was very comfortable (a modern Ford pick-up, very clean and spacious). When we arrived at the starting point, the guide gave us 1.5L of water each and we started the climb towards the summit. He guided us step by step and it was quite easy to speak with him in English. Passing through the first base camp we then reached the second. There, inside a small building we had lunch (early since we had set off at around 7 am). The meal that the guide brought was good and plentiful and there was also fruit! Then we continued towards the summit. It must be said that the route is demanding and to tackle the trek in a day you need to be at least a little prepared, especially during the wet season (we climbed in August) not only for the physical effort but also for the path that is sometimes impervious (which does not depend on the guide but on the nature of the territory and the mountains themselves). We then reached the top after crossing the section that can also be reached by cable car. There usually is crowded so except for the early morning you won’t be alone there. Our guide gave us medals and a sort of certificate for doing the fansipan trek. Very appreciated! So after we came down following the same road. I want to say something that is not related to our guide: the fansipan trek is not an easy walk (especially doing that in one day), you’ve got to walk 19,5 Km with a total elevation of 1.800+ m (and the same by going down), the trail sometimes is muddy and the wet rocks and wood were splippery, there are a lot of stairs after the middle part of the trail. Not a joke, consider that and you’re own ability. That is part of the beauty of this place!!

My 1st hiking trip, and it was memorable. Glad to have the experienced female guide (Ser, I am not sure if her name is spelt as such) guiding my good friend and I along the way to the top.
Ser was very professional yet pleasant and patient. She was also very attentive, and she noticed that I had a headache as we were climbing higher. She immediately offered me paracetamol for it. (thank goodness she noticed, which I deeply do appreciated a lot😊)
Ser even taught us some of the plants along the way, which makes the hike interesting.
On & off, she also shows us ladies concern, such as are we alright with the pace, are we tired, etc.
I would recommend her to be the guides for amateur hikers😊

We had an extremely challenging but memorable trek to Fansipan. We took more than 7 hours to complete the trek and took multiple breaks but the guide Mr Chay was very patient with us. He also prepared and served an excellent traditional lunch at the base camp.
So glad that we booked this once in a lifetime experience!

The service was excellent right from booking the trip (got an almost instant message to share more about the trip and getting the info required), picking up (prompt with reminder) to the hike itself. We had a guide to our party of two. The guide Cho was friendly and allowed us to go our own pace. Lunch was tasty. We took the cable car down and were given a ride back to our hotel in Sapa. We really enjoyed ourselves and recommend this.

I did a one day hike up to Mt Fansipan with my daughter and our guide was an energetic and friendly lady, Ms Ho, of the Hmong tribe. She was very helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. She woud be pointing out interesting plants and views on the way even though it was quite foggy unfortunately. A good lunch was arranged for us, taking care of our vegetarian diet. Fruits were offered all along the way. Highly recommended!

We had a great guide and a very good time. Reaching the top was a priceless moment. Overall a great experience.

Loved it.
It took us about 7 hours to get to the top. The trail is a relatively easy one, except for the last third, where it gets real steep real quick. I had to take a break quite often, but was in no way rushed.
Got lucky as the weather was (cold ~7 degrees) pleasant and I got to experience amazing views not only on the very top, but along the way as well.
Great lunch, great guide.
If you have the time, skip the car cable on the way up, take a hike.

Great hike with an amazing guide. Took us about 5 hours with breaks. Lunch was delicious - highly recommend this company!

Amazing hike and really happy to have done it with this group. My tour guide was a local from Sapa and was super helpful and friendly!

The trek itself was challenging but so rewarding! Our guide Sinh was fantastic - friendly, very patient with us, pointed out a lot of fun facts about the history and flora and fauna on Fansipan. The views along the way made it all worth it!

If you are interested to hike Fansipan I strongly recommend Sapa Original Trek. Mr Tinh responded to my booking right away with confirmation and arrangements to pick us up.
The guide Mr. Cho was fantastic, very friendly and patient.
The trek was tough but very satisfying when you reached to the top. All day long was a great adventure with beautiful views.
We are lucky the weather was great that day and the temperature make it even better.
We highly recommend Sapa Original Trek and climbing Fansipan!

The hike was manageable but tiring! The guide - Sinh ensured our safety, guided us where and how to step to avoid slippery floor or muddy area. He was very attentive and patience with us and encouraged us that we will make it to the summit

Fantastic guided walk up the mountain. English speaking guides with a smooth transport process to the national park. Great conversation and company along the way, and an overall excellent hike. Started early and made it up by 1100, views at the top were great with a bit of cloud. I decided to take the cable car down and was given direction on how to do this without any issue.
