A Beautifully Challenging Time in Nature with an Incredible Guide

I had the most incredible time on this hike with Leo as my guide. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe the entire time — Leo has a calm presence and is genuinely great company. The hike itself was definitely challenging, but in the best possible way; those moments when the views opened up were breathtaking and made every uphill step worth it. Leo was so patient with my questions, whether about the local plants, birds, or random things about life in Colombia. He really knows his stuff, and makes you feel like you’re walking with a knowledgeable friend rather than just a guide. He’s also very patient with pictures; and taking rest breaks. Lunch was a highlight - wholesome, homemade food with fresh ingredients and rich flavors. I’m vegetarian, and everything was well seasoned and satisfying. What made the whole experience so special was the balance: it felt authentic, peaceful, and physically rewarding - far from the usual tourist trail. If you’re looking to connect with nature, challenge yourself a bit, and enjoy meaningful conversation along the way, I’d highly recommend this hike with Leo if you want to get off the beaten tourist track.
