Very professional and friendly crew. We enjoyed the sail, beach, and snorkeling. Lunch was delicious! Definitely recommend!

First confusion was to get in the Marina, meeting point was at the right side of marina where the shops are, past shops you get to a Terminal which required a code/QR code, which was sent by operator via WhatsApp, which I did received but took while to download (I was using free Tmobile 4G data oversea plan). Terminal has bathroom and a beach shop with sundry and snacks. Trip was expected, on a sailboat but using motor power, but did opened jib (second sail) during a trip back. Took 45-60 min to Concha site seeing islands, past isle de la Aguja (large locky island to left as you sail), you will see lots of rock and cave formation on both side, then the waves got really rough, which was a fun boating experience. Once at the beach, boat anchor about 100 feet off shore, you can swim or take small dinghy to the beach. Beach has various shaded areas, was clean, water was clean and clear, but after 10 feet or so, it drops sharply. Lunch (fried fish with rice) was very good, I don't enjoy fish but enjoyed it very much. Tour operator had couple SUPs to use, also used dinghy to take you to nearby rocky area for snorkel. Although, tour operator didn't speak English well, they were very friendly and tried to talk to you and tell you about the area. (*I realized most folks didn't speak English unlike Mexico or various Caribbean area) Overall, it was a nice experience to get a small taste of Tayrona Park beaches.

Absolutely rate this tour. It was a magical day, everything was perfect. The staff had fantastic communication from booking to saying goodbye on the day. The crew were really cool, attentive, respectful and just overall legends. The beach was gorgeous, you can use their snorkel gear and stand up paddle board. They have a smaller boat to transport you to land. These guys were alot cheaper than other companies and were fantastic!

Its not really a "tour", rather a boat transport with food. The boat was comfortable, the food really good, and Tayrona is beautiful. And I met really nice people on the tour.

Lovely day with a friendly and helpful crew. The beach was great and the lunch was delicious ,highly recommended

The sail boat ride on the trip home was very relaxing. The beach was a bit busy and there isn't any "tour" or information rom the crew, but the crew was safe and helpful in providing medication for anyone getting seasick. Bring your own beverages and snacks, all food sold on the beach is very expensive.

It was a nice day. Water was lovely for the sail and the swim.
Not much time given to snorkeling and very little English spoken. So lovely day but if those two things are essential to you, I would look elsewhere.

We had an awesome experience on the sailboat trip. From the beginning Ana made sure we were accounted for and in the right group. The staff on the boat made sure we were well hydrated, or lunch orders were prepared, and everything taken care of. The beach was beautiful with light waves and easy to swim around, paddle board, and sunbathe. The trees have great coverage as well and having chairs on the boat and on the beach was a big plus. And traveling with a smaller group was ideal. I would recommend this for anyone with families and like groups under 25.

The crew was great, thank you all!!!
The park is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
I wish the trip was a little longer or maybe go to a couple of beaches.
I would do this tour again anyway
My family and me loved the experience

My boyfriend and I did this trip as a way to see Tayrona National Park from Santa Marta. It was a fun boat ride and then we just sat on the San Juan beach for several hours. You have the opportunity to order drinks and snacks, but I would recommend bringing your own (the fancy coconut/pineapple beach drinks are really, really expensive and low quality!). Overall, we enjoyed the day though we didn't see much of the park. We met a really fun group of people which added to the experience. If you are looking to see more of the park, I'd recommend doing a hiking tour or going into the park yourself, but if you're looking for a fun day of day-drinking and beach-lounging, then this is the trip for you!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
It sounds like you had a memorable experience exploring Tayrona National Park through the boat trip from Santa Marta. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the boat ride and the time spent in Bahia Concha. Thank you for sharing your tip about bringing your own drinks and snacks to avoid high prices and ensure quality.
Indeed, if you're seeking a deeper exploration of the park, a hiking tour or independent exploration within the park might offer a more comprehensive experience. However, it's wonderful that you had the chance to connect with a fun group of people, adding to the enjoyment of your day.
Your review provides helpful insights for others considering this trip, highlighting both the positives and areas for improvement. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope you have many more adventures in the future!

We took this tour on the day Tayrona Park reopened and had a fabulous time. The sailboat was comfortable and the crew was fantastic. They were attentive to everyone’s needs. What we thought was going to be a simple lunch turned out to be a real nice chicken or fish dinner on the beach. We would recommend this tour!!
Maryjo_S, Feb 2024
Beaches and food were awesome. Did not enter park due to scheduled closure but alternate Beaches were fine.
Carol_G, Feb 2024
Beautiful boat and very friendly crew. They all seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was very fun to actually travel by sail in the afternoon. It was a bit rough and some people might not like that but I enjoyed it. Excellent lunch. Bring sunscreen and some cash for extra drinks with you.

We had a great time! The team was awesome, the beach was beautiful (mostly peaceful except the music), and the lunch was delicious! There are chairs you can rent in the shade (I think 10000 COP per chair), which was worth it as the sun was strong. The waters are very choppy from Santa Marta to the beach.

It was a great trip. My daughter (6 years old) had a great time swimming and snorkeling. We all very much enjoyed the trip.

The trip is well organized. There is hardly any English spoken.
The trip only takes you to the one, closest beach in Tayrona Park - Bahia Concha.
You will have time in there. Bahia Concha is a beautiful, cove beach. BUT it has no shallow waters. The ascend to the sea is steep. (Not suitable for kinds who can't swim.)
I am a Northern European female, traveling alone, and a nice person (it was my mistake). I have been harassed all the time. I had zero peace. Local vendors smelled the blood and circled like vultures, every 5 minutes.

A well organised and great day out. The team were really friendly and helpful. The boat journey was beautiful. We were taken to a nice quieter part of the beach which was more relaxing and lunch was absolutely delicious (freshly caught and grilled fish). Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a few hours on the beach.

It was nice and peaceful, however we left late and the return took longer than expected. Food was as expected and the people very kind

All was excellent was happy I booked a highlight of my trip everyone of the team was amazing and went above and beyond the food was very tasty I had the chicken I didn't expect such tasty food. The whole team deserves an A+++ In service lastly the beach was dreamy like a lone paradise didn't want to leave can't wait till next time.

The experience was fun, and we had a great day on the boat and beach. I would say the downside was there was not much interaction or information shared from the crew. Although advertised as bilingual, the English was very minimal and just enough for basic communication.

This experience was AMAZING! The crew and Javier were so wonderful! Great attitudes, helpful with our grandparents that needed assistance, and fun! We anchored at Bahia Concha and the water and weather was perfect. Loved having access to a kayak and paddle board! The beach was great with ability to order cocktails. I was so impressed with the lunch, it was delicious! Overall, highly recommend! Everyone was happy and had a great time

The tour was supposed to be lead by an English speaking guide. I felt we had to wait for many of the items we were promised. We needed to be persistent in requesting anything.

We really enjoyed our sailboat trip to Playa Concha on the Sonata this week. We did go the day before but shortly out of the harbour, the boat had problems with the motor. The crew tried to fix it but decided for safety's sake to go back to the dock after an hour. These things happen, especially when a service is used daily, things break down. People who could not take a raincheck for the next day like we were, were offered a different type of trip (motor boat to a beach) or quickly given a full refund. Very professional.
We took the same trip the following day and everything went according to plan. The crew was wonderful, even managing to speak in English with us. Not overcrowded at all....only 16 people on a ship that can take 26....although I think that would really be pushing it. We were comfortable, and met many interesting people. The trip to Playa Concha was quick and not too rough....it is the ocean! So people who suffer from seasickness should be aware.
Once moored at the beach, we could swim to shore off the Sonata or be taken in by a small dinghy. The beach was nice with an area reserved just for us....note that the beach is used by other tour companies and so there are other people, vendors, etc. Not much to see snorkelling-wise, you could actually see most of the fish while standing offshore, they were not shy! The ocean floor dropped off quite quickly from the beach so visibility was limited. Which is actually okay because the snorkel equipment was not in great condition and limited in numbers available. Most serious snorkelers brought their own. They provided a SUP which was great for those wanting to try that out....but the paddle was lost in the afternoon......why would you not attach a floatation ring to your equipment to prevent that? I'm sure the person who fell off and dropped the paddle, felt awful. It sunk quickly and although one of the crew dove in, it couldn't be found.
The lunch was awesome.....they brought our plated choices, (chicken, fish or vegetarian) to the beach. BBQ'ed right on board, it was really tasty. Soft drinks and water were available and beer available to purchase after your first free one.
On the trip home, we travelled partially under sail.....only the front jib sail but it gave the real feeling of a sailing trip.....slightly rough in one area but pretty smooth for the most part. Sun shades are rigged up over a large portion of the deck but having something to cover up with is definitely smart when you are on the water all day.
All in all, it was a great day on the water for those of us unable to have our own boat ..... we are going to go again next week because it was so enjoyable and a very reasonable price.

Friendly helpful crew. Great beach and the lunch provided was very tasty. They even gave us snacks on the return trip. I would totally do this trip again.
Jonathan_A, Feb 2023
Great little beach. The forest behind It isn’t as scenic as we were expecting, mostly has the same landscape as other coasts in Santa Marta but still beautiful and great for photos opportunities, especially with or on the sailboat. If you haven’t been on a sailboat before, be aware that it can get very rocky with bigger waves. We felt safe the entire trip with the crew however. We appreciated being able to eat lunch at the beach or on the boat.

Do not take this tour if you are on a cruise ship. Customs at the port here delayed our exit from the ship and the tour did not wait for us. We also tried to call them and tell them we were delayed, but they did not answer the phone. Also because of this we did not get a refund for missed trip. So Viator and these tour folks took advantage of this and kept our money without providing a service.
Jonathan_T, Dec 2022
I personally enjoyed this tour overall - the boarding process was straightforward, boat was in OK condition, and got to spend time on a pleasant beach.
However there are a few things people need to be aware of. The beach is underdeveloped as it is in a national park so don't expect too much in terms of facilities. The water was not as clear as I'd have liked, and importantly if you want to have a quiet time, go Mon-Thur as during the weekend it can get busy with different boats blasting different regaetton music. The waves can be quite strong which makes an exciting ride.
Best enjoyed if you just wanna chill/dance at the beach.

The trip going over to Tayrona park was good our stay also in playa concha, but when it was time to come back to the port the boat’s motor wasn’t working and the captain decided to try to sail back with only the front sail of the ship. The weather turned horrible the waves 4-6 feet high and the rain with thunder very scary since we had small children a 3 and 8 years old plus older people. The scariest part was the marina was not answering the Sonata captain and anything could have happened. I need to get part of the money I spent in this ride.

The host spoke English which made communication a lot easier! Great cruise! I would highly recommend!
