We had a terrible experience. We were picked up from the pickup point and then had to turn back because the organization had forgotten three people. We then took an unexpected van ride because the plan was to depart from Sariselka and not Ivalo. We got out of the van in a dark area. They made us sit on an uncomfortable, small, snow-filled sled. We took a very short ride and then were transported to an old, cold, unlit hut where they served us subpar food.Specifically, poorly cooked sausage, an indecipherable carrot and meat broth, and a completely unfresh dessert. All in the dark.
After that, we returned to the sled without even the skins on the seat, but sitting directly on the snow, at minus 20 degrees. We had to help tip a sled weighing hundreds of kilograms and were driven back to the hotel at 120 km/h on icy roads with no regard for traffic laws. The event advert on the main screen proposed a five-hour evening on a snowmobile, only then in the subsequent instructions did it say that it would be a sled pulled by a motorbike... all of this is misleading and dishonest. It wasn't 5 hours and the hours spent with you were of a very low level and quality compared to the askin price.I therefore ask for a refund for this terrible experience. I will exercise my right to report traffic violations to the relevant authorities. The safety of your customers should be at the heart of your policy, but evidently that isn't the case. There was also a disabled child and an elderly person on board, but that didn't stop the driver from traveling 120 km/h at night on icy roads, with his phone in his hand.
I am truly concerned that you continue to provide services like this.
Sincerely, Lorenzo Santoni

Hello!
I am very sorry you though you were going to Snowmobile Safari, and that you though that tour is made in Saariselkä.
I am sorry you could not enjoy the tour with the wrong expections.
We have so many exellent rewiews with the tour, our food and guide who was working that evening.
Tour was made like it is written in the program.
This guide has worked long time with us, i have never received compain about him driving too fast. I did check with him, he has not been driving too fast.
We have done these tours for about 12 years, all our guides are locals with exellent winter driving skills and they are following trafic laws. Safety is super important for us.

Freezing night on lake Inaari on a sledge. Very little engagement or explanation from the guide throughout the trip which diluted the experience, though we did have a very poor sighting of the Northern lights. The dinner in the heated tent was quite nice.

Small group. They will pick you up from your hotel, then give you thermal clothes, then drive you on a snowmobile sleigh. You can feed reindeer at night, sit into a local tent with fire and eat a simple dinner soup and sausage. Then they will drive you around the frozen lake hunting for aurora. If the sky is clear and there is aurora the setting is very beautiful. Also the experience itself it's suggestive. Maybe a little overpriced but overally a good experience.

The tour with Laura was just amazing. We had the luck to see amazing northern lights. But also despite of this the tour was really worth it.

It was a great experience to walk over the frozen lake. The tour was well-planned and well equipped. Our guide Laura was outstanding. She made the trip really enjoyable and comfortable. The dinner was great too. We got to see and feed the reindeers. Laura also let us do a fun activity which is drilling the frozen lake which we enjoyed a lot.

It was a great experience. Tina & Tapio were an amazing host. They took us to the center of lake Inari to spot stunning northern lights & later served us with delicious food they made. The homemade cake by Tina’s mother was yumm!!! Both Tina & Tapio are very kind & fantastic host. Overall we had a wonderful time & experience with them. Definitely worth it!!

The snowmobile sledge ride was loads of fun, we even saw some wild reindeer running on the frozen lake, unfortunately we didn't see the northern lights as it was cloudy but we still had a lot of fun, we stopped and took soke fun photos, the dinner was delicious, and tour guide was so lovely and kind, we had a great time

Worst excursion I have ever done. Temp was not tolerable at all. It was -28”C we were dropped in the middle of a frozen lake, pitch black, we were absolutely freezing, and we didn’t even get to see the aurora. The guide was kind but he could not help us because he was the only person in charge. There is no backup in case something goes wrong and we were stuck in the cold for hours. It was really bad, I would not recommend it at all.

Hello! I am very sorry that you could not see aurora, that is something we cant promise. You have been given warm thermal clothing, and there was also other people with you same evening.
They had no problem, and they were happy with the tour. If there is also other people in the group, we cant interrupt the tour, if everybody in the group dont want.
You have been in our Island for dinner in teepee, and me and my husband are living in the island all winter in the cottage.
If anything goes wrong, we are there every night, so the trip is totally safe.
Best Regards, Tina

Great trip - including a wonderful sighting of the aurora. Really well organised - picked up and dropped back at our cabin in Saariselka, which was very helpful. Friendly, helpful guide for the trip, looked after us really well and gave us lots of interesting information while we drank our hot drinks and ate delicious reindeer stew. Warm suits provided but make sure you bring as many warm layers as you can as it gets really cold on the lake even so!
YimSun_H, Feb 2020
Great experience with husband and my two boys in Aurora Hunting Safari to Lake Inari, the temperature was -20°C or lower, and we spot the magical northern lights!
lwyryan, Feb 2020
It will be perfect if we can see the aurora. Despite that, the experience is unforgettable. Riding a snowmobile on the lake, drinking reindeer soup around a campfire, it is just unlucky that we cannot see the northern lights.

Very well organized, kept us updated by text re pickup. Very pleasant and knowledgeable guy drove us to the lake, and made sure we were well wrapped up in thermal gear as it was quite cold.we had plenty of time to Aurora watch, and did see them although faintly.
It was a great unique experience .

This was by far our best experience in Saariselka and any travel til date - it was super cold -28 deg C, we sledged over a frozen lake to a middle of nowhere away from any sort of light or life except the people on the tour. the sky was clear but we saw greenish dim stagnant lights and were told by the guides that chances are slim and the lights look lame, the day before they had a good activity. On our way to a small island for supper, the sky suddenly lit up and the lights danced for next hour or so and we screamed like crazy jumped off the sledge and everyone started singing/dancing/jumping. It was once in a lifetime and magical experience!

Hello!
We have about 60 thermal suits and shoes in different sizes, and since our groups are not big, there is sizes for everyone.
I am sorry you felt like you did not find your correct size. We have sizes from 90 cm to 4XL.
Thermal suit is not supposed to be slim fit, it does not have to be exact right size. It is always better there is space for air, then its more warm since air is insulation. I am also sorry we had no luck with auroras that night, but thank you for joining our tour!
Best Regards, Tina :)
