We had an amazing time on our private Bodrum city tour with our host, Nora! Our group of seven was visiting on a stop from our Virgin Voyages cruise, and Nora made sure every moment was special. Great experience, Ionna was a fantastic guide. All the stops were brilliant. Be aware the trip says 6 hours, but it was 7 1/2 hours port to port for us. A long day but well worth it. The 1 1/2 hours at Lindos is cutting it fine if you do the climb up and down to the Acropolis but the guide does go with you. Beautiful scenery on the drive with Nikos at the wheel
Great historical experience! The tour guide was great, she made things very interesting and she also had a good source of humor that made the difference!
Our guide was very energetic, enthusiastic, entertaining and informative. The stop at Lindos was too short if one wants to climb to the top and a little tight timing for lunch. Lindos was “packed” with tourists, outside of guides control.
Joanna was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. It was unfortunately way too hot in Lindos to climb the 300 steps to the Acropolis of Lindos. We were warned about the steps, but not the heat before we purchased our tickets (additional cost) the evening prior to the excursion.. Overall we enjoyed our shore excursion in Rhodes and would recommend it to others.
Nice trip, but a long way to go to Lindos in a bus where the air con was SO poor - 34 degrees inside made it very uncomfortable

We regret to hear that you did not feel comfortable on our latest-model German Setra bus. Could you please clarify whether your reference to 34 degrees was in Celsius or Fahrenheit? If you meant Celsius, that temperature would have had the entire group melting; if you meant Fahrenheit, everyone would have been freezing! 😊 As yours was the only temperature-related complaint received from the entire group, we strongly recommend discussing your unusual temperature concern with your doctor, as the health of our customers is our priority.
You were accompanied by one of the top-rated guides in Rhodes, who holds two university degrees and is fully licensed to guide in English. Please note that many European guides speak fluent international English with an accent rather than American English. When traveling abroad, some variation in pronunciation and accent is naturally part of the experience. If you have difficulty understanding different accents, we highly recommend traveling outside your home country more often.

Enjoyed the tour. The guide was knowledgeable. Lindos was beautiful but very crowded.
The stop for the pottery demonstration as basic and there was no discussion about the different types of honey. It was all self serve. The ancient city tour was very interesting but it is so large difficult to cover everything.
This is a large bus tour that will take you to a ceramics shop and honey/olive oil shop with very mild pressure to purchase but pressure nonetheless. Additionally there is no wine tasting.
The guide was very good and she gave us a number of options in Lindos. We had time to walk around and explore if we wanted. Likewise, she was very knowledgeable about the medieval city and left us with very clear directions for how to get back to the cruise (easy walk).
It was absolutely awful! We didn’t get what was described in the reservation (no wine tasting or no visit old town Rhodes, nor any mention of them being cancelled). I loathe large bus tours, and this was not in the description.. I thought I’d make the best of it, but the tour guide was horrible. She left the bus each time and started talking about things before everyone was off, so many people didn’t hear her and had to catch up. We paid way too much money for what we received. I don’t mind spending money if it’s worth it; this was a very expensive bus ride. We were miserable for over five hours before we had an opportunity to eat lunch. Over half of the people on the bus left the tour early to walk back to the port to avoid staying on the bus any longer. I’ve used Viator multiple times and had great experiences, but this one was not good!! AVOID!

We regret to hear that our services did not meet your expectations. It seems that your disappointment may have come from expecting a private tour, as you mentioned this upon meeting us at the pier. Please allow me to address the concerns raised:
1. All private tours are clearly labeled as “Private” directly in the tour title and usually cost at least three times more than the group tour you booked.
2. All the inclusions are clearly listed in “ whats included” section of this tour description. The tour does not include wine tasting but complimentary olive oil and honey tasting during the visit to Savvas Ceramics.
3. Ioanna is one of the top guides in Rhodes, with many excellent reviews from our guests on this page.
4. Not one guest left the tour. On the contrary, some guests asked to extend their free time in the Old Town after the tour, as it is located only a 5-minute walk from the pier.
5. According to the guide, the main difficulty was related to your limited walking ability, which made it challenging for you to follow the group at each stop. Please note that the additional information in the tour description clearly states that this tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for guests with limited walking ability.
For any future bookings through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour itinerary, inclusions, and restrictions, rather than personal assumptions. Safe travels.
I would never do a tour again with a coach full of people. We started off by waiting 45 minutes to leave the dock waiting for stragglers and the tour guide was very confused most of the time and would jump from topic to topic. In the future go with a private tour or at least a small group. We spent more time sitting in the bus than doing anything.

1. This group tour has never been advertised as a private tour. Please note that all private tours are clearly labelled PRIVATE in their titles and generally cost at least three times more than the group tour you booked.
2. As for size, by international standards group of 24 participants is considered a small group rather than a large one.
3. Regarding the time spent on the bus, the journey to Lindos and back takes approximately one hour each way. As both Rhodes Old Town and Lindos are pedestrian-only areas, we are unable to understand the calculation stated in your review.
4. Ioanna is one of our top guides in Rhodes, as confirmed by the many excellent reviews available on this website.
5. To avoid waiting on the bus before the tour begins, we recommend disembarking 5 min to the scheduled departure time rather than arriving 45 minutes in advance since we always park right at the pier next to the ship. The tour departure time is clearly stated on your tour ticket.
When booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the tour description, inclusions, and itinerary rather than on personal assumptions.

This tour was a great way to see a lot in a short period of time. We were given clear instructions to find the coach right at the port and everything ran smoothly. There are stops along the way to Lindos, including the olive oil/honey/ceramic place which had samples of their products to try and a great demonstration about how the pottery is made. The only downside was the bathroom at the ceramic place which was limited to 1 stall for each gender. There were multiple buses there at the same time and waiting in line for the bathroom took up all of the time we had to shop there. The town of Lindos was great - our party chose to split up with some visiting the Acropolis and some choosing to shop in the town, as there is not time to do both. I also enjoyed the walking tour of old town at the end of the tour.
Great day in Rhodes and a perfect tour of the island. Johanna our guide was wonderful and just had a narrative for the tour. She was so informative and easy to listen to all day. The stop in Lidos was fun and the shopping was diverse. We had a quick lunch there before boarding the bus for a ride back to the Medieval City. She took us on a walking tour of the city and the photo opportunity was perfect during the entire walk. We found the shopping and food opportunities perfect before meeting up for the ride back to the port. We wished there had been more time int he day and Rhodes is a place we will definitely return to son.
This was a group tour to Lindos, and the Ancient City of Rhodes, with a local pottery demonstration added in.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very accommodating.
Lindos was very pretty and inviting. We didn't do the Acropolis that day, but we walked the narrow streets and stopped at a local pub for a refreshment, and met the group back at the bus.
The tour of the ancient city of Rhodes was very interesting, and again, the guide knew her history. You could actually feel like you went back in time.
Joana was a great tour guide. Her knowldege of Rhodes history was impressive. Taking us to the Ceramic shop was a nice add too. Our time in Lindos was adequate to see the Acropolis and get in some shopping. Our tour to Old Town was super interesting. Nice day in Rhodes.

We were passengers on a cruise ship; we were met by Nico and driver right at the ship (and returned there too). We drove to Lindos, stopping at a ceramics/olive oil place. Usually I find these stops annoying but this one was really nice and worth our time. Lindos was full of tourists but we got to see and take pictures. Best part of the trip was the fortress of St. John, medieval walls surrounding city of Rhodes. Massive ——. Nico gave good information. Stopped for wine at the end at a very nice (and cool) place. this was one of the best tours of our trip. Bravo, Nico and company!
Nick is wonderful guide. Very detailed and knowledgeable. We had a small group of 11 which made it nice. Lindos was way too crowded but the town of Rhodes was delightful.
Our guide never showed up. We tried calling never answered the phone. We called Viator office and they tried calling and the guide never answered the phone. Our appointment was called for 9:30AM, we got there at 9:00 and we left at 10:00, the guide was a no show.

To avoid disappointment when booking with Viator in the future, we strongly recommend carefully following the detailed pickup information available on the website 24/7 and also communicated to your email. This clearly specifies that collection takes place AT THE PIER, not outside the cruise port, where—according to port security—you attempted to locate a Viator office 18 minutes after the tour’s scheduled departure. Rhodes is a beautiful medieval city that's very worth seeing! Our tour guide Irene was great, funny, and informative. We stopped at a pottery workshop and had a demonstration of traditional pottery making and had some time to shop for souvenirs. We then went to Lindos where we had the chance to walk around the town or go up to the Lindos Acropolis (tickets are not included - 20€ each).
Overall the tour was great and would recommend.
Just note that it is not a private group tour - it is a bus tour with around 40 participants.
Great tour! Hit all the highlights of Rhodes. Our guide, Ionna, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun-and did her best to keep us in the shade! We had a great day!
Great way to tour Rhodes and learn the history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The transportation was comfortable.
This was an interesting experience- Lindos was amazing, the town and fortress. I do wish we could have had more time there to explore and eat. The drive to get there is at least an hour, the tour guide was full of information and very pleasant. She did a good job keeping track of our large group. The stop for olive oil and to watch the pot maker was interesting. The walk through the old city fortress was cool. This was a good tour, I think it would have been better had we done this as a smaller group- over 40 people was too much. This was a long day, six hours and lots of walking, which was great!
This was a wonderful, fully loaded tour. Learned so much about the history and culture of the island. Joanne was a wonderful guide, with Nick as our driver. A highlight for us was the Saava pottery factory. Loved the demonstration and the wares. We saw Lindos, as well as the old city where the Colossus was.
The wine tasting was very good and a nice chance to rest and have a light bite before heading back to the ship. Highly recommend.
Rose was great. She was extremely knowledgeable about Rhodes and Lindos. I could have done with out the tourist trap pottery experience but I enjoyed the tour overall very much.
This is a long excursion. It was 2 hours longer than sold as.
It is a 1+ hour bus ride to Lindos.
It is great if you want to climb to the top of the Acropolis.
I did this and then there was no time to eat lunch.
What I disliked about this excursion in addition to not having time to eat anything was that they wasted our time...1 hour... taking us to a hard sale pottery/olive oil shop.
I paid for an excursion, not a shopping trip.
No water or snacks are given...bring your own.

1. As clearly stated in the tour description, the visit to the Acropolis is optional. Guests who feel comfortable climbing the approximately 300 steps are welcome to do so. For those who prefer not to, there is ample free time to enjoy the village, with over an hour and a half allocated for a relaxing lunch at one of the many restaurants. Guests heading to the Acropolis can also grab a quick and delicious Greek snack from one of the local shops in the village.
2. The second opportunity for food is during the free time in Rhodes Old Town, where there are numerous taverns and eateries available. We are a bit surprised by your comment, as you also mentioned the tour was extended by two hours, which would have allowed even more time to eat.
3. The visit to the pottery workshop is not intended as a shopping stop, but rather as a cultural experience to demonstrate the traditional Greek ceramic-making process, which has been practiced for over 4,000 years.
4. As outlined in the tour information, water and snacks are not included. We kindly recommend that guests who need to eat more frequently bring their own refreshments. For travelers primarily interested in food experiences, we highly recommend the 11-course Food and Wine Tour available on Viator’s Rhodes page—it’s a fantastic culinary option.

The tour bus and guide were not identifiable as Viatour related. They had no sign no label no nothing! Therefore we apparently walked passed them. We worried after no one showed up at the meeting site. The four of us were last on the bus by 15 minutes even though were we off the ship 20 minutes early. There was no local number given to us to call locally! Not good way to start a pre paid tour!

I loved this tour. You see alot of Rhodes since Lindos is on the other side of the island. Walking through the old town of Lindos was fun. I opted not to climb up to the Acropolis. You could do this if you wanted to and if you bought tickets separately ahead of time. I enjoyed stopping at the family-owned ceramics shop. The owner makes all the ceramics and his wife and daughter-in-law paint them. Great place to get reasonably priced unique souvenirs. We also got to do olive oil tastings next to the ceramics shop and lots more quality souvenir ideas here.
Joanne tended to walk too fast and seemed in a hurry. It was difficult to hear the info in our communicators as she would get too far ahead of many of us. The description of the tour did not give good info about the Acropolis and difficulty. Rhodes itself is a lovely island.

3. The tour description clearly states that this tour is not wheelchair or scooter accessible, and not recommended for guests with limited walking ability.
4. For future travel, please consider the needs of fellow guests who follow an average tour pace within limited time ashore. In such cases, a private tour—which can be tailored to your personal pace—would be a more suitable choice.
5. The Acropolis visit is optional, not included. Our pickup instructions clearly state that it involves approximately 300 steps with no elevators, and is only recommended for those in average to good physical condition.
