Beautiful and serene

A wonderful introduction to Amazonia Ecuatoriana. The lodge is gorgeous. The activities were enjoyable and educational. Vanessa is a wonderful guide and facilitator who was always attentive and responsive. The jungle is a magical place. The highlight for me was the visit to stunning Pusculin waterfall. An excellent adventure.

Tamandua Lodge

Our room and the view were fantastic. The staff was excellent and took great care of us. Making chocolate and the jungle walk learning about the plants were interesting and fun. The meals were very good. Our guide did a great job. Rather a long drive from Quito though.

Disconnecting in the Amazon

Vanessa was always in communication with me starting months in advance throughout the whole stay. We were picked up in Quito and started the long trek to the Tamandua Eco Lodge outside of Puyo. Neyser was our translator and he was so incredibly nice and helped us communicate with Jaime and Maria, our amazing staff/hosts for the few days. The wifi was out the first 1.5 days we arrived, but it was lovely to disconnect and relax. The generator turns on just in time at 6pm (until 10pm) to charge devices and such. I was traveling with my dad, which made the hike to the waterfall a little difficult, but Jaime helped him navigate tricky terrain while educating us on the local flora. Highly recommend booking this activity with Vanessa!

I had an incredible time during this tour. Vanessa and Neyser speak English, are very responsive. At the lodge various hikes and workshops are offered. They provide well balanced meals and everybody is very kind. I truely got to disconnect from the city-life and relax. It is quite a long, but scenic journey from Quito, but it is totally worth it!

I highly recommend this tour! Vanessa, the tour organiser is really lovely. She communicates plans clearly so you know what to expect. She even gave me a thank you gift! I forgot my trainers on the tour and she ensured I got them the next day. Tamandua lodge itself is out of this world; really peaceful and enveloped by nature, and so many birds! I could go on. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
