Amazing! Randall was a great guide. His knowledge of nature and the history of Costa Rica added to the experience.
This tour was recommended by a friend and it was more than i expected. The ranch and its surrounding felt organic, peaceful, safe and fun. My 12 year old was afraid to try horse back riding. She felt safe and thought the horses were gentle. The family dog came for the ride and she loved it. The waterfall dip was perfectly refreshing. Seeing small animals in their elements during the hike was fun. The frog was the best. Beautiful trees and nature as its best. The food at the end was delicious. I absolutely recommend it!

This was a highlight of the trip. You will learn a lot about land preservation, history, and the local economy. The swim in the spring is a nice break from riding. The horses are beautiful and clearly well taken care of.

This was our favorite thing we did in Costa Rica. It was the most authentic and magical. The group was small and we were all different riding levels but still the more experienced had time to enjoy that and the newbies had support. Lunch was delicious, horses were all sweet and well behaved. Everything from the trail ride, to the short hike, to the dip in the waterfall, to the lunch was really thoughtful and worthwhile. We wore shorts which were fine on the horses and long sleeves sun protection shirts. Hats and high spf recommended, there are lots of open fields on the property. There is also a point where you are on horseback close to rock walls and might get scraped on the legs if you aren’t careful and we were in shorts, which was a choice. Randall carries water so we were able to travel light and he also takes a ton of pictures for you. Also wear bug spray.

This is a great experience and would recommend to anyone visiting. Randall was extremely passionate about Costa Rica and that was shown through his knowledge of the country’s history and its wildlife including the plants. The hospitality shown was A+. As someone who had never rode horses Randall did and excellent job explaining and the horses were fantastic and calm. The tour around the property was everything someone could ask for and capped with a homemade Costa Rican lunch that was truly enjoyable. Again, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting and do not be scared if you have never ridden a horse before they take great care of you!

Communication and pick-up was great and on time. Our guide was very well informed and told us the histories of the palm plantations as well as his family land. The horses are very docile and well trained. Folks with little to no experience on a horseback will be quite fine.
The land tour crosses beautiful terrain, as well as other animals. Exploring the waterfall as well as the hike were the highlight.
Be sure to bring sunscreen, bug spray and a hat. Shoes or hiking shoes recommended. Also a bathing suit for the waterfall, it is worth the swim.

It was a lovely way to spend a morning. Although we did not go far Randall was very informative about the area and his family history on the land. I had not ridden a horse for 25 years, but need not have been apprehensive because all
The horses were docile and very well behaved. Lunch at the ranch was a generous and a nice way to round off the experience.

This is my fifth horseback riding trip in Costa Rica and by far and I mean by far the absolute best! Randall and his family's ranch is absolutely beautiful. The horses are very healthy and well taken care of. The scenery is gorgeous the waterfall is fun and Bingo the dog that accompanies you on your trip is hilarious. The lunch I had of fresh fish, red beans and potatoes and rice was as good as any I've had in the restaurants. I highly recommend this as a must do in Manuel Antonio/Quepos.

We had the best time on our horseback riding tour - truly one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! Our guide, Randall, was an absolute gem. He’s the son of the ranch owner and his love for the land, the animals, and sharing Costa Rican culture really came through. He made us feel welcome from the very beginning and was so kind, funny, and knowledgeable throughout the ride.
The trail was peaceful and scenic, winding through beautiful countryside and across streams and ending at a stunning waterfall where we got to cool off and explore. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious homemade Costa Rican lunch back at the ranch - such a special and authentic experience.
The horses were calm, well cared for, and perfect for beginners. We can’t recommend this tour enough - thank you Randall (and family!) for an unforgettable day we’ll always remember.

Great multifaceted experience in the beautiful jungle of Costa Rica. The tour consisted of horse back riding, a guided walk in the jungle, a ride to a refreshing waterfall , and a delicious lunch of fish or chicken Casado. The property is lush with rich vegetation. The guide took a lot of great pictures of our group. We received a lot of information about history, flora, fauna and customs of Costa Rica. We highly recommend this tour!

This tour is absolutely in my top 3 favorite experiences in Costa Rica! Randall is incredibly warm and welcoming, with so much knowledge about the nature and history of the area.
We enjoyed a beautiful tour that included a short hike, a refreshing stop at a waterfall and ended with a delicious lunch. It was such a memorable day and I can’t recommend this tour enough to everyone visiting Costa Rica.
Thank you for an amazing experience!

Had a wonderful experience with Randall and his father. Total group was about 15. Horses were perfect for the terrain! Couldn’t believe how on point they are. Property he shared with us was amazing. Love seeing his love for preserving his family’s land and the best of Costa Rica! Thank you so much, Randall!

Best horse riding ever! Rancho was super friendly and knowledgeable! Jumping into waterfall was a big plus at the end of horse riding. And the lunch is delicious.

This was truly a five star excursion. Randall our guide was right on time picking us up. He gave us so much information about Costa Rica on our drive to his farm. The place was so beautiful. The horses were great. We saw so many interesting things. Including a crocodile that tried to take a bite out of Bingo the dog. It was very refreshing to take a dip in the pool at the foot of a waterfall. Then we headed back to the house where we had the best meal we had anywhere in Costa Rica. Truly a magical day.

Cannot say enough good things about the tour! Randall was very knowledgable of so many different things, whether scientific names of plants, cultural history, the background of his property passed down from his grandfather, and so much more. The property was absolutely gorgeous, the horses were amazing, the excitement of Randall created much joy! Absolutely phenomenal 11/10 would recommend! What an absolutely blessing being able to go!

Horses were great, well trained. Really nice property. Randall (and his son) were great guides! Really engaging and passionate about their conservation work.
tiare_g, Nov 2024
Love it! He took his time with us explaining and showing us his family work throught out all these years and beyond history. Horse ride was incredible and at the end took us to a cascada which was beautiful and refreshing . Ending with a home cooked meal which was delicious. Really recommend this tour wont regret it.
Andre_L, Oct 2024
Randall was amazing! The family land, family horses, and a delicious home cooked meal that beat all the casado meals at all the restaurants we went to. The horses were easy to handle, and he made us feel safe while giving a lot of knowledge of the costa rican land in quepos/manuel antonio area. Would love to come back whenever we come back to Costa Rica.

My wife and I went on a tour with Rondald and one of his students for our honeymoon and it was such a great time. We really enjoyed hearing Ronald talk about the history of Costa Rica and its people as well as the history of his family’s property. Seeing the waterfall during the tour was really great as well and refreshing.
And to top it off we had a great meal provided by his stepmother which was very good!
Overall I’d highly recommend taking some time to visit Ronald and his tour!

We had an incredible morning with Randall and his family. Our kids loved every moment and we did too! The horses were so gentle and well cared for, and Randall’s passion for his land and country was inspiring. There’s a reason this tour has 5 stars from so many people.

Such a wonderful experience! Great way to see the beauty of Costa Rica and have an authentic delicious meal. Highly recommend. Only bring children though if they know how to ride a horse or are old enough to do so.

Absolutely amazing experience!! It was at a family farm and horses were so cute and sweet. The scenery eas amazing. We went through an incredible forest hike and saw the coolest most massive tree ever. We went swimming in a waterfall and had an incredible lunch with fresh cheese. Highly recommended your 10/10

What a great peek into the world of Costa Rica (off the beaten path). We met Randall and followed him in our vehicle to his fathers farm - we wish we had been in the vehicle with him as we drove through the palm farms and had a lot of questions! The horses appeared well cared for and behaved themselves. Randall's son and father joined us on our ride so we had 3 generations! The land was beautiful and it was clear how much Randall enjoys sharing this place with visitors. The tour ended at a small waterfall on the property, which felt great as it was a hot day. We ended the tour with a traditional meal cooked outdoors - it was delicious. It was the highlight of our Costa Rica trip for all 5 of our family. Definitely recommend bug spray and sunscreen.

We enjoyed every minute of the trip: from learning about the history of the property to the current state of bringing it back to it's original beauty to the serene beauty of the property. The horses are beautiful and easy to ride. The waterfall was absolutely stunning. The home cooked lunch was delicious!

Good communication before the tour. I was picked up promptly. We toured the private farm, which is so different from the very busy Manuel Antonio National Park. It was a small friendly group tour in the quiet farm with wildlifes and cattles. It included the refreshing dip at the waterfall. The water temperature was just right. Randell was great explaining the history of the farm. We ended with the tasty home cooked lunch, overlooking the views of the farm. Randell sent me lots of photos afterwards as it was difficult to take photos while on the horseback.

An amazing experience, very easy as a first time horse rider. The farm was beautiful and lunch was delicious.
Matthew_K, Feb 2024
My family (including two kids 16 and 13) had a wonderful experience! Randall picked us up at our hotel promptly and gave us an interesting lesson on the history of Quepos on the way to the ranch. Upon arrival, we received a brief lesson on riding. We were a bit nervous as non-experienced riders but the horses are very gentle and well trained. The ride through Randall's family property was gorgeous and we stopped periodically to learn more about the property and the local flora, fauna, and wildlife. Randall and his father were excellent guides and Randall took great photos of us along the way. The dip in the waterfall was very refreshing and the authentic Costa Rican lunch was delicious. Highly recommend!
