Overview
Set off on horseback through the mountains and trails around beautiful Manuel Antonio on this full-day, guided tour with lunch included. After a safety briefing and riding instructions, hop on your horse and follow your guide into the mountains to an altitude of 1,900-feet (600-meters) taking in amazing views, wildlife, and vegetation along the way. Enjoy a swimming break on the way down and a local lunch at the ranch.

We had such an enjoyable day on the horseback riding adventure! Our guide was excellent and we would definitely recommend this tour! We rode the horses to a beautiful waterfall where we were able to swim, take pictures, and enjoy some time in the relaxing scenery before heading back to the farm to have a lovely prepared lunch and fresh juice. We had such a good time!

Booked this experience for a group of 8…6 out of 8 of us were new to horse riding and for few of the 6 it was their first time riding a horse. Our tour guide Hugo was amazing. He gave us the history of the country and the area, as well as a quick lesson on riding. He was very patient with kids and we had a lot of fun. I highly recommend this experience. Will do this again on next trip.

Hugo taught me how to ride from not knowing anything. He took us to a small waterfall to that pictures and let people swim at well.

This experience was awesome, our favourite activity of the trip! The organizers were extremely informative, the waterfall that you swim in is beautiful, and the ride is really fun. It is great for all levels and fun for the whole group!

We had so much fun on this adventure! Our guide was wonderful and the horses were gentle, sure footed and easy to ride. All of the horses appeared very well taken care of and were allowed to rest. The ride is beautiful through the bosque and jungle. We saw a rare Pygmy owl and a poison dart frog on our adventure . Appreciated the guide’s naturalist walk to the waterfall and telling us about the local plants and their unique uses. The lunch after the ride was excellent. Fresh and tasty and a plentiful portion. Take this tour— you won’t be disappointed.

Your folks were great, horses were well kept but the tour is on private lands not the park. There was no wildlife and no real conversation about the space around us unless we asked. If you want to ride horses in the forest, this trip is for you. If you want to see any wildlife or actually get into the park, the title is misleading.

This experience was AMAZING! The horses were SOO well-trained, and Hugo was a great guide. My daughter has some experience on horses, so he let her "lead" the group and set the pace, which she loved. The waterfall stop was awesome - definitely bring suits for a swim! The lunch at the end was delicious. Overall, a really excellent experience.

This tour was great and not a short ride either. A nice horseback ride to a few places. We even saw some relics that weren't expected. Be sure to wear water shoes and bring bug spray.

great tour with lunch , you can spend 2 hours riden in the hourses and swinming in the river , when you come back to the finca , they are waiting you with great homemade lunch ! Was amazing !

Our ride was amazing! Our guide was attentive and took special care of my mom (86 years old) who hadn't been on a horse in 30 years. We loved the ride as well as the time at the waterfall before heading back. Eddie pointed out different things along the way and it was great taking it all in from the saddle. Lunch afterwards was a welcome perk as well!

Hugo was an amazing guide! The horses here are very well taken care of by the staff, and Hugo was great about teaching us how to properly ride. We got to see the beautiful jungle and swim in the waterfalls, and Hugo took lots of pictures and videos for us. The food they provided was excellent and we even got to visit and pet the other farm animals! I would highly recommend booking this tour if you have the opportunity.

I booked this experience for my 12 year old daughter who adores horses in mind. We decided on this option over the beach because you can ride on a beach in so many places but it is not often you have an option to ride through the rainforest to a waterfall. Our guide Alvin was so knowledgeable and friendly. The ride was beautiful through the rainforest. It was just my daughter and I and so relaxing. We saw a blue morph butterfly and a toucan. The waterfall was so refreshing to swim in and overall it was a peaceful relaxing trip.

This is a great and fun activity. The horses are well takin care of and are guide had tons of great information. The waterfall/ water hole was a nice treat. The lunch after is amazing my daughter and I had a great time. Highly recommended.

Travelers with no riding experience should not be apprehensive about this excursion. The guide was an experienced horsewoman and a good teacher. (It had been years and years since I’d been on a horse—so glad I did this!) If you have water shoes, bring them for the stony bottoms of the waterfalls.

This was an unexpectedly delightful experience, and was my partner's favorite excursion of our trip. Herberto was a wonderful host and clearly had so much love for the horses and the land. THe waterfall we vistited was actually my favorite out of all the waterfalls we visited, which were many. We never would have been able to see it without this tour. Although the tour is five hours, you're not on horseback the entire time which was a positive for us. This truly was a gem and we couldn't recommend it more.

This was an incredibly unique and rustic experience. The entire tour was very remote and authentic. Even on a rainy day, we were all very happy that we got to experience this tour. Something to remember for a long time.

Señor Gilberto was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the plants and animals we encountered. He was very familiar with the horses and gave an excellent tour. You can tell he is passionate about what he does. I enjoyed learning about the medicinal plants on the ranch and riding the horses through the beautiful landscape and waterfalls of the Tocori Mountains.

This was an awesome experience. Great tour that focused on conservation in modern Costa Rica. The horses are beautiful and well trained. The guide, Randall, is excellent and makes sure everyone has a great time. He takes great photos and gives them to you at no charge. Lunch at a local restaurant was excellent. Don’t miss out on this experience.

The tour was amazing. We were greeted at our hotel and taken to the landscape/farm and it was gorgeous The guide let us pick our own horse of many horses. Once we started riding the guide let us move at are on pace. The path was breathtaking we rode through rivers and the mountain sides. He took photos as we went and he gave tips to position our bodies down hill and up hill. We will definitely take the tour again.

The area where we rode was beautiful. The horses were mild mannered and seemed to be well cared for. Our guide Cesaer pointed out things along the trail. We even saw a toucan. The swim by th waterfall was so refreshing and we never felt rushed. Lunch afterwards was a very good Costa Rican meal. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Magical trek through rainforest track and river to waterfall with swimming. 8km in total. 4 hrs. Good guide and driver. Horses well cared for and well behaved! Nice lunch after. Manuel Antonio Hotel pick up and drop off included.

This is a must do activity! We had a wonderful time. Our guide, Alvin, was wonderful and very patient with us as we didn’t have a lot of experience with horseback riding. The actual horseback riding portion of the trip was about two hours long (which is all you want if you’re not used to riding a horse), but the whole tour was about 5 hours long. This included the pickup, the drive to the ranch, and lunch at the ranch after the horseback riding. The horses walk pretty slowly, but the trail they go through in the jungle is beautiful, and we had a great time!

It was a very nice horse-ride through the jungle. It's not for anyone that wants active horse-riding, but if you like a leisurely pace, this is it. The water and falls at the turnaround point was very refreshing. Wear water shoes to get the most out of it. Also our guide was very friendly.
