      Great Costa Rican Experience

      Heather_D, Apr 2026
This was a great experience our tour guide was amazing took the time to go into detail and explain both in English and in Spanish all the things we were seeing. I really wanted to see the Monkey's and we not only saw them but got to spend time with them as they played around and jumped on the boat! I would highly recommend for anyone looking to be immersed in the Costa Rica jungle and have an experience with family and friends to remember for a lifetime!

      Response from Host, Jun 2026

We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you and your family back for another adventure in the Costa Rican jungle!

      Feeding animals is wrong!

      Diane_S, Feb 2026
I was extremely disturbed by the calling of animals and then feeding them! The birds, the little lizards and the monkeys! This is NOT acceptable to be feeding animals in the wild. I have come across so many places that says to NOT feed them. I will not be recommending this place again!

      Response from Host, Feb 2026

"Dear Diane, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on Viator. For the Diego Nature Tours team, the conservation of the ecosystem and the well-being of wildlife are our highest priorities. We would like to clarify that the action you described—feeding wildlife—is a practice that we do not support under any circumstances. We have strict policies against this, as we fully understand the harm it causes to the natural behavior and health of the animals. After investigating your report, our team has taken the following immediate actions: • Guide Identification: We have identified the specific guide responsible for your tour . • Team Re-training: We are currently reinforcing ethical protocols and environmental protection regulations with our entire staff to ensure this never happens again. Your feedback has been instrumental in helping us correct this internal error. We deeply regret that your experience did not reflect the high standards of respect for nature that define Diego Nature Tours. Best regards, The Diego Nature Tours Team"

      Enjoyable. Weirdly,...

      Roger_K, Feb 2026
Enjoyable. Weirdly, though, the owner of the tour company kept calling the guide about my ticket. That was awkward and distracting

      Response from Host, Feb 2026

"Thank you for your feedback, and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. Please accept our apologies if the calls regarding your tickets were distracting. Our priority was to ensure your entry to the National Park was fully secured before the start of the activity. Since we were unable to reach you via message earlier, we had to coordinate directly with the guide to confirm everything was in order and avoid any issues at the entrance. We appreciate your understanding, as our goal is always to provide a seamless experience for our guests.

      worth every penny

      Lynn_P, Feb 2026
amazing amazing! Worth every penny! Our tour guide was great! Saw and got a kiss from a monkey, saw a camen, snakes, sloths. So relaxing worth every penny!

      Response from Host, Jun 2026

I’m thrilled you had such an incredible time and felt it was worth every penny! It’s always a treat when the forest shows off with sloths, caimans, and more. Thanks again for joining me for such a great day!

      Excellent!

A great tour. We learned a lot, and we really got to experience flora and fauna. Saw monkeys, lizards, insects, snakes, lizards… And had a really great time.

      Response from Host, Jun 2026

I’m so happy to hear that! It was a pleasure sharing our local nature with you. I love it when the forest really comes alive and we get to see so much diversity, from the monkeys all the way down to the insects. I'm glad you had such a great time out there!

      Just meh

      terri_M, Jan 2026
It was just okay. The company we booked through appears to be a reseller at another companies location. They showed up about 45 minutes late, the water was very low, so it was slow going. Saw some monkeys, lizards and a fer-de-lance snake (that was rare and pretty cool). The other company offered fruit at the end of the tour, ours did not. Guide was good, just not a lot to look at. There are better tours out there for wildlife.

      Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had the chance to spot a Fer-de-lance snake; it is a rare and extraordinary sighting that nature does not always grant. We would like to clarify a few points regarding your experience: • Direct Operators: Please note that we are direct operators, not resellers. We start our tours from a shared meeting point used by several local companies, but we manage our own logistics and service from start to finish. • Logistics and Tides: The wait time was due to the low tide. In this environment, we rely entirely on natural cycles to ensure safe navigation and an optimal start for the tour. • Nature and Luck: Wildlife sightings in a free ecosystem depend 100% on luck and natural behavior. Seeing monkeys, lizards, and a rare snake is actually a very successful day, though nature doesn't always follow a script. • Pricing: We aim to offer the most accessible price in the market. To keep our rates lower than the competition, our tour does not include fruit or snacks, allowing guests to enjoy the experience at a lower cost. We appreciate you highlighting our guide’s work and we take your observations seriously to keep improving. Best regards
