Our excellent tour guide and driver, Sam Mulligan, made our trip to Milford sound an enjoyable one. He was knowledgeable, kind and courteous to all on board and was an excellent driver on the long and winding road!

Excellent excursion for an outstanding must-see experience. Driver very engaging and fun. Would do again if returning.
Long bus ride from Queenstown, but wonderful commentary by driver. Lovely stops en route to view some of the remarkable vistas along the way.
Boat ride was amazing. We included the buffet lunch in our ticket, which was decent with lots of options.
We were offered the opportunity to fly back to Queenstown. We took it and it was one of the best “last-minute” decisions we have ever made!

Do not book through Viator. I was charged $100 more than the other people on the tour bus.
Great experience overall, I just feel a little ripped off considering all people shared the exact same experience.
This was an ok experience. The bus ride was very long and frequent stops made the journey feel longer. There was nothing “luxury” about the experience. We were on the same bus and cruise as everyone else but we just paid more money. Not worth it. Better off with another lower cost option for Milford Sound.
Overall it was an average tour.
The scenic views of course are exceptional, from the bus tour stops and Milford Sound itself - really great views and luckily we had a lovely weather.
But the food, it was nowhere near average. It was bland and some meat were tough to chew especially the pork.
The potatoes wern't even easy to swallow. The beef wasn't that tender and lacked flavor. The fried chicken was mediocre. The only saving grace was the vinaigrette dressing for the salad.
Scenic views -- Excellent!
Food -- Poor!
Boat crew -- good service.
The glass roof of the bus wasn't even cleaned.
But Sonia, the coach driver was really entertaining/amusing!
If it wasn't for her, i would rate it below average.
Overall rating -- Average.
Too much travel. Too expensive and hectic. Can make better use of time when in New Zealand. Would totally miss this one and do something else.

Fantastic driver, the way he turned the bus around the mountains, felt ever so safe.
The overall experience was brilliant, Buffett on the boat was value for money .. would highly recommend 10/10 -
The bus driver was very disappointing. On a 10 hour bus trip we expected some really good commentary but the odd thing she told us, she was not really sure about or enthusiastic. She also coughed incessantly. Hopefully she didn’t have Covid or everybody is going to get it.
Paul (driver) was an absolute delight and gentleman and we were fascinated by his commentary and history lessons. He looked after us so well and we wish him well in his retirement. A star 🌟
What a great trip led by our excellent driver/tour guide Brad. A Very knowledgeable guy, he made the journey to and from Milford more than half the fun.

Excellent stops, bonus buffet lunch & a bonus sea lion on the seals rock. Weather calm & sunny for days. Good for trip but bad news for planet. ...

Excited to see the color of the sea water there and the snow on top of mountain in summer time. The cruise is perfect clean and comfortable.
This was amazing. We brought things like online games and books to entertain ourselves on such a long drive but instead loved hearing the commentary from our driver as well as admiring the scenery. Very engaging. Everything ran smoothly other than a few tourists arriving back late to the bus. Boat cruise ran smoothly. Trip back I watched movies on my iPad as I had seen and heard everything. It is a looooooong day. I wish we flew back.
Trip was well planned. We stayed at a hotel where they could pick us, and it all went well thereafter. Fuss free from with the long ride to the boat ride. No need to worry on tickets and parking. Picnic lunches were provided. Well times toilet breaks and quick bites. Dropped us back to our hotel after thr trip. Good experience.

What an amazing journey to Milford Sound and the cruise was very good.
We were very fortunate to have had a beautiful sunny day for our trip. It had rained and snowed the day before, so the waterfalls were still very active.
We had a pod of dolphins play along with the boat as well as spotting penguins and seals.
We chose the picnic lunch option, which was presented appealingly in boxes, so we could spend more time on the deck, enjoying the scenery. Free tea and coffee was available and it was most welcome after getting sprayed by a waterfall ( part of the fun they take you close to the raging fall)
We chose the bus trip from Queenstown and our driver Brad did an amazing job. Such a long day for him as well as us (12 hours).
On the way down he provided us with great local knowledge of the area, we had a wonderful break at TeAnau, where we could buy a nice hot coffee and snacks. The best steak and cheese pie I have ever had was my choice and my partner had the Venison and plum sauce pie, both freshly baked on the premises including the pastry.
We stopped several time during the journey to Milford for photo opportunities, very beautiful.
On the journey home Brad set up a DVD filmed and produced in NZ. lovely touch for us while he drove us safely back to Queenstown.
Great experience!
First and foremost, the crew was AMAZING and courteous. Second, you can't do anything about the weather and safety hazards.
Unfortunately, we hopped on the bus towards Milford Sound but previous weather made it impossible to cross the roads, and we had to turn back. Luckily we got our money back, but I'll send 5 stars for such courteous and knowledgable drivers who taught us so much and all the stops for photos and food along the way.
The bus ride was long! But views were well worth it. Had 1 stop in Te Anau for food which was amazing. Milford sound was a dream ! If i had to do this again, I would highly recommend catching a coach to milford sound and then flying back.

We had a fantastic day, Brad our driver was amazing, he was so knowledgeable and entertaining, he certainly earned his money and must have been exhausted after a long 13 hour day. Would definitely reconnaissance trip.
This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend! The Milford Sound Cruise was such an amazing highlight, and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the stops and commentary along the way

Cruise was marvellous, we got to see the waterfalls, seals and the entrance to the sound from the Tasmine.

Good tour, but the food was diabolical. Most of the crew were very helpful, one rather sarcastic. Not my favourite tour 😣
A long but very enjoyable day thanks to Milford Sound Select. The company kindly agreed to pick us up on on the main road near our apartment a few kilometres from Queenstown. The driver was very friendly and most informative throughout
The cruise was amazing, views will take your breath away . The bus ride was long but you get to see the Fiord National park, mountains, lakes and sheep and deer farms that are also amazing and make it more interesting .
