Overview

While in Central Otago, head to the Oxbow Gun Club in the Gibbston Valley for a bit of fun. Enjoy one-on-one guidance in clay bird shooting from an experienced instructor. Take your friends for some healthy competition and experience the natural beauty of New Zealand’s magnificent mountainous backdrop at the same time. This activity facilitates six shooters per session, so is an excellent group activity suitable for ages 13 and up.

We are located 20 minutes from Queenstown Airport - Head out of Queenstown on State Highway 6 towards Gibbston Valley. We are located on the right hand side, just past Nevis Bluff. There is plenty of signage and loads of parking available onsite.

Had a really lovely time here. The whole staff were lovely, but I wanted to particularly highlight my experience with the clay targets. I went shooting with Skinny, who was an absolute barrel of laughs but also a phenomenal teacher. Made my whole trip, I had a great time, especially at a really great value. I cannot emphasize enough that Skinny was just an absolute legend, and I would've made a lot more time for Oxbow as a whole if I had done my research beforehand. I very rarely write reviews, but felt it was necessary to share, recommend to all types of visitors.

It was a little out of Queenstown, but well and truly worth the experience. Scenic drive and enjoyed by all from 16 year old to 50+. Informative instructor Tim. Great fun, great experience. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, good safety briefing and excellent tuition. Nick was a great instructor and as a complete novice I was put at ease- I even managed to hit a respectable number of targets. My son is more experienced but also learnt from the coaching. A great experience.
