Meeting spot was easy to find. Captain was very friendly. He made the trip entertaining. We were able to get in the water. It was a dark night except the baseball field was putting off a lot of light. It was still amazing to be able to get in and swim.

Highly depends on time of the year along with weather. The Captain Cesar was amazing, really awesome young man. They don't tell you the time so you will need to call. It's also a very small boat.

I was very nice. Our captain was great and with a great since of humor. Just saw a little of the bioluminescent, It wasn’t that dark. But still had a good time

solo mom traveling with two young kids (5&8) the crew members were all so kind and helpful. there were no other travelers with us on the boat trip so it was very personal as well. the water was beautiful and warm, i did get stung in the arm by a jellyfish (i’m glad it was me and not one of the kids) but i didn’t make a big deal about it and just mentioned it to the crew when i got back on the boat at the end of the trip and they were quick to help me get vinegar on it and made sure i was okay. they provided water bottles, snacks, and life vests.

We met a nice couple from Troy, MI (small world since we are from Plainwell, MI). Our Captain was timely and informative. Communication from the start was also excellent. The bioluminescent experience was great. Splashing produced firefly effects and swimming in the water as it got darker showed the effects better. Suggest to use the bathroom at the gas station before coming since there is nothing there and change into swim gear prior as well or your changing in your car.

Hello we have a bathroom in our business we will let my customers use

The drivers were friendly and helpful (we went out with another group in a second boat). We went out on a rainy and stormy evening so I appreciate them not canceling (we drove from San Juan area). Both boats were small so luckily it was a short boat ride over to the bay. The bioluminescence was really amazing - like you had a sparkles in your hands! (I did get stung by a jellyfish, but it wasn't too bad. Luckily no one else did and I didn't say anything because I didn't want to freak out my kids. Just be aware that it can happen.) The child size life vests were too small for my 9 year olds so they had to wear adult sizes. Also all of ours were the orange vest-type which were not fun to swim in. The other boat had more modern and comfortable ones. Overall a wonderful experience but one star off for the life jacket situation.

That is the life Jacket approve by the Coast Guard type 1

The bioluminescence was very cool to see while swimming. The water temperature in the bay was comfortable and the boat felt safe. Snacks were just chips and water. Overall a fun experience.

Arthur was great! Treats you like family and helps everyone have a great experience. Safe boat driver. Helped us see the bioluminescence on a less than ideal night.

Wonderful experience. The captain was great. The tour was very informative and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Captain Arthur and his son and Captain C were amazing, super fun, informative and genuinely kind. The boat was comfortable.
BRING goggles or a mask for an even more extraordinary experience!! I was nervous about swimming at night but I am so glad I did! It was mesmerizing to float in the still waters with snorkel and mask and to flutters my hands in the water. The Bioluminescence was enchanting and brilliant. Water in January was a comfy temp. The ride back with a sweatshirt was perfect.
Highly recommend Captain Arthur. He even had a small tarp he put over us to increase darkness to make the under water stars sparkel even more.

If you want to get in the water and actually swim off the boat, this is the tour for you. The boat ride was beautiful and started early enough to see a sunset and get informed all about the bioluminescent creatures. We had ample time in the water and we all sparkled like sparklers! I would take this tour again and again!

Goes out at 620pm but gives you time until it gets dark to be able to enjoy the bioluminescent waters.

This was a pretty bizarre experience. We spent most of our vacation on the north side of the island but planned to stay the last night in this area to experience swimming in the bioluminescence, a 2 hour and a half hour drive away. We were then going to drive back to San Juan to fly out the next day. 1 1/2 hours into the drive, we received an email from Viator that our experience had been cancelled by the tour provider. No explanation. After digging around, I found contact info for the tour provider and called them directly. We were told it was cancelled due to the full moon and the bioluminescence wouldn't be too visible. My first thought was that the moon cycles are know years in advance. Why cancel just hours beforehand and why not ask us first? We explained that this was the only reason we were making the long drive to the south side of the island and that we'd like to go regardless and understood the bioluminescence wouldn't be great. So after some hassle we rebooked our reservation again for that same night. When we showed up the boat was NOTHING like the picture. Yikes, it looked barely seaworthy. Was nothing more than a very large and very old canoe with a motor. Paint peeling everywhere. Planks across for seating, one of which was broken and had to be reinforced by a separate board on top. A few inches of water in the bottom. Boat was very unsteady and everyone had to be very careful where and when they moved to prevent it from lilting to one side or the other. All of us were so nervous about whether this boat was even seaworthy but we reluctantly went forward with the ride wondering if we'd make it back safely. We did make it out to the bay. The moon was full and bright but we were able to swim and see the bioluminescence under a tarp and it was pretty cool. Driver and guide were friendly. Overall worth the experience but definitely not what we had anticipated at all. Wish we had taken a pic of the boat but it was dark when we returned. We were just relieved to have made it back alive.

Arturo gave us an amazing experience!! It was nice that it was private with having just our family. Arturo was super friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. 10/10!

Overall we enjoyed this boat ride going in with no expectations. The sunset on the bay was beautiful. Water was warm for swimming in. The bioluminescence was dim and looked like bubbles, but it was overall a fun experience. The captains Cesar and Arthur were nice and friendly.

I with my wife and four year old daughter did the Bioluminescent Bay Night tour, the captain and the fellow passangers were very considerate as they waited for us half an hour when we were stuck in the crazy traffic while coming from Aguadilla. Though we visited close to full moon the captain put a tarp to hide the moon light and we went under the boat to see the sparks. It was magical when you see it first time.
We also did the La Parguera Boat Charter 3 hour tour the following day. The captain took us to the mangroves where the wind was less and with clear turquoise water. We all and especially my 4 year old enjoyed a lot, she fed chips to the fish and 7 to 9 large fish about 3 to 4 feet in length showed up and kept moving arround me, as my daughter fed. Very economical compared to the larger boats and more customized experience. Highly recommend.

Took my wife and 6 month old baby and had a fantastic time! Both Captain Sessa and Arturo were so friendly and truly made the experience wonderful. Definitely will be back on future trips to PR!
Mike_H, Dec 2025
The captain and his son were a lot of fun! We went when the moon was very bright so we couldn’t see the bioluminescent effect very well on our tour. The captain did a good job and I will use him again for other tours when we come back.
Juan_M, Feb 2026
It was fine, although we do not have to go with great expectations, The photos (of all the luminescent bays) have quite a bit of "touch-up" and are not really as "luminous" (besides their luminosity is variable, as explained is higher in summer when the water is warmer)
