After 2 weeks in Peru, this was the last activity for us. The experience was amazing, cofortable lodge, good food and we felt safe all the time. The highlight of all our 4 days was our guide Andres. He was very passionate and had lots of knowledge about everything (fauna, flora, insects etc). He made all our tours exeptional.

Little activities in between a lot of down time and probably an ease of time. 4 days could have easily been done in 2. Not too many animals to see. The lodging was not t organized well. No power or water or internet most times. The food was ok, but not really enough for everyone there.
Not a real jungle adventure.

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations.
Our team strives to provide a balance between activities and rest time so that guests can enjoy both exploration and relaxation in the jungle environment. That said, we understand that the pacing may have felt slower than you had hoped, and we will carefully review how we can better structure the itinerary.
Regarding the wildlife sightings, these can vary depending on the season and natural conditions, but we are working closely with our guides to ensure guests have the best possible opportunities to experience the local fauna.
We also regret the inconvenience you experienced with lodging, power, and water. Remote jungle lodges sometimes face limitations due to their location, but we recognize the importance of reliable services and will continue to improve these areas to make our guests more comfortable.
Your comments about meals and organization are equally important to us. We are already taking steps to review portions and service to ensure every guest feels fully cared for.
We truly appreciate your honesty, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. Our goal is always to deliver an authentic, memorable jungle adventure, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a much better experience.
Regards,
Team Palotoa Amazon Travel.

The lodge was in terrible condition. Our bathroom was dirty, and although a cleaner came daily to make the bed, they never actually cleaned the room. The pool smelled awful and was completely green — clearly neglected. The room also had numerous spider webs, which only added to the overall lack of cleanliness.
To make matters worse, we later discovered that we paid double the price compared to another couple who booked offline at a local store — a frustrating revelation given the poor quality of the experience.
The guide was able to help us spot animals, but offered very little information about the Amazon unless we asked specific questions.
The food was decent, but no snacks were provided as advertised. Even more concerning, two of us got sick on the last day, and we strongly suspect it was due to the food. This isn't just a minor issue — it directly impacted our health and safety.
The lodge only has electricity for a few hours a day. This not only made it difficult to charge devices or have light in the early morning or evening, but also affected basic utilities — water flow and hot showers didn’t work properly due to the lack of consistent power. It made an already uncomfortable stay even more frustrating.
While the natural setting and some activities had potential, the tour overall was extremely disorganized. We didn’t receive any information in advance about what to pack or expect, yet were still held to those expectations.
Unfortunately, this experience felt careless, unsafe, and far from what was promised. We would not recommend it unless major improvements are made across the board.

Dear Eduardo,
We are truly sorry that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your observations, as they help us identify key areas where we must improve.
Regarding the cleanliness of the lodge, the condition of the bathroom and the pool, we have forwarded your comments directly to our maintenance and housekeeping teams to take immediate corrective action. We will also review our hygiene and supervision procedures to ensure this does not happen again.
As for the quality of the guiding service, we understand your frustration and will reinforce our team’s training to ensure the experience is always informative, proactive, and enriching.
We regret that two members of your group felt unwell. We are carefully reviewing our food handling and preparation processes to ensure we meet the highest standards of food safety.
We also acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the limited electricity. Although we are located in a remote area, we are evaluating new sustainable alternatives to improve this aspect without impacting the natural environment.
We regret the lack of pre-trip information as well. We are working to improve communication with our travelers before their arrival so they feel well-prepared and confident.
Finally, regarding the price difference, rates may vary depending on the booking channel and season. However, we are reviewing our pricing policy to keep it as transparent and fair as possible.
We hope that despite the inconveniences, you were still able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Amazon. Our commitment is to continue improving, and we deeply value your suggestions.
Sincerely,
Customer Service Team

The jungle itself and the wildlife were unspoiled. We saw so much wildlife, monkeys, kapybaras , wonderful bird life , incredible insects, caiman, turtles and so much more.. The whole environment was so interesting and we learned so much.
The lodge itself was very basic. We had only cold water ( I believe other bungalows closer to the main dining area had limited warm water) . However, we signed up for exactly what we got and we were quite happy in this extremely humble environment. The food was plentiful.. Our guide Ivan (maybe Iban .. the Spanish pronunciation made me unsure) was a lovely modest man with great knowledge that he was happy to share.
We loved it, but if you expecting a touristy commercial experience.. it isn’t!
It also does require a level of agility and fitness to get on and off the boats on to slippy muddy riverbanks . A few of us had a rumple or two. A word of advice would be to pack the right kit for extreme rain, heat, ground conditions

The activities or the programmes are interesting. But the services from the organiser is terrible. E.g..despite 3 times write to the service provider to enquire on the pickup, but no reply.

The excursions and Ewan ( guide) were great, very helpful, knowledgeable and good fun . Food served was delicious ! .
Accommodation was poor , hygiene was appalling , smelly bathroom , mould pillows , dirty Matress , it was clear that the lodge was not loved . Didn’t expect such poor cleanliness in a lodge after paying top dollar prices overall . Cheaper packages are available aplenty , but selected this hoping for a clean resting place . Is that too much to ask for ?

This tour was fabulous! Our tour guide Eman showed us so many different plants and animals from 6-foot otters, the parrots at the clay lick, caimans, sloths, capybaras, and so many monkeys. The food provided was so tasty and we loved lounging in the hammocks between the activities. Would highly recommend this tour!

Know what you're signing up for!!
This experience can be very uncomfortable if you're not prepared for it.
There was nothing luxurious about this adventure. Bare-bone sleeping spaces, minimal and cold water for showers, electricity available just a few hours per day, absolutely no cell service or wifi available.
That's what I was imagining when I booked this tour, and that's exactly what it was. An absolute amazing time. Luckily I got along really well with the group of travelers I was with, which made a huge difference. Sometimes the food was a bit sketchy but the staff did everything they could to make the experience better. Keep in mind, you're along the river and officially in the jungle. They have to carry supplies there, so do appreciate their hard work. Last but definitely not least, what made the biggest difference on this trip and turned it into an experience of a lifetime - were the guides. I had the pleasure to have Danillo (sorry if I got your name wrong!) and Andres as my guides. They were both fantastic! Always on the lookout to spot animals, constantly sharing information, and never making it feel boring. They took us out three times a day! We would have each meal and head back out. Wow, what a jam packed itinerary! Danillo and Andres, I know it's been over a month, but I finally got to write this well deserved review. Thank you for an experience I will never forget!

We went on a ten day trip to Peru, starting in Lima for two days, Cusco and Machu Picchu for a few days, and ending here for four days. This is a fascinating place to be -- a rustic, lovely little place in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. We were picked up promptly, as scheduled, and each day was filled with unique and memorable experiences -- everything they advertise. Our main guide, Romario, was just excellent - personable, knowledgeable, very prompt, professional and extremely caring. I would suggest you bring lots of bug spray and a small portable fan for your room. They do provide boots, if it's really muddy (which we didn't need to use), and Romario has several pairs of binoculars to pass around - which were particularly helpful at the clay lick, a really cool experience. Staying here was just as fabulous as seeing Machu Picchu in its own unique way. It was a wonderful way to end our trip, and I highly recommend it.

We visited the forest with this agency in May 2023.
This was one of the best experience we had.
Our guide Saay went above and beyond to give us the most immersive experience possible. He understood all our needs and accommodated everyone's schedule. There were a lot of activities to fill our days and we were provided with a lots of knowledge about plants, culture, animals, etc.
We absolutely recommend this place and agency to book your travel with.
We usually plan our own trip to have more freedom but this was just amazing.
Food was good as well with different plates every day respecting local produce (such fresh fruits).
Just do not forget your anti mosquito cream/spray.

I only gave a 4 star rating for a couple of reasons. They forgot to pick us up at the airport but Rose made up for it by making sure we got to the lodge comfortably. She was great. The lodge and bungalows were somewhat rundown but the staff was amazing. Our tour guide (Jhonatan) was the best. He spotted many of the animals and birds that others never saw. It was an unforgettable experience!

It was my favourite part of the holiday.
Our tour guide, Tito, was brilliant.
He answered questions and knew plenty about the surrounding areas.
You will see plenty of wildlife, but please do not expect to see a wild jaguar or anaconda. It is extremely rare. People have been working in these areas for many years without spotting such animals, and you will only be there for a few days. It is possible, as a group (not mine, unfortunately) did spot a wild Puma while we were there.
You will have an activity packed 4 days, and you will love it.
I highly recommend this tour company.

It was a wonderful experience that my wife and I get with this Tambopata Jungle tour.
After 3 weeks of stay in Peru, I can say Amazon is the best part of our trip.
We also made 5Day Salkantay trek with very well known company. Which is not even close to this quality in so many angles.
There is no doubt this can't be possible without a good guide and a good team to support him.
Carlos had so much experience about the jungle and the Amazon culture because he is a member of an amazon community.
We are delighted that he is our guide.
Tambopata reserve and Sandoval Lake cannot be described easily.
We are lucky that there are so many companies make a tour to Sandoval lake but none of them offered such an organized tour.
So we had a great chance to see real nature in nights, days dusk and downtime. We also stayed in one night for another lodge located along the river for usual activities like zip line and Canopy walkings and visiting monkey island. These activities were also good but I'd prefer to sleep with Howling Monkeys, thousands of birds and real nature in near the Sandoval lake.
Also, I have to say night sky was amazing, sadly I couldn't take any night sky photo but those moments always in our mind.
Carlos had also good eyes not only for spotting animals in dense Jungle but also in the night sky to spot spy satellites too. :)
The food was always fresh, always delicious. Staff was warm and respectful.
I can recommend Palatoa travel without hesitations to all my friends and to who read this.
One more thing, I never imagine before this trip how Amazon smells like, It was wonderful, flowers, fruits... wow.
