We highly recommend this tour! Fernando was the most amazing tour guide who curated the experience to give us the best balance of adventure and relaxing in the Amazon. He also had an eagle eye when it came to spotting critters! We spotted 4 monkey species, 2 types of caymens, tarantulas, bullet ants, frogs, dozens of bird species, piranhas, and even a capybara! The trip around the lake was our favorite part but the entire experience was surreal. The accommodations and food were lovely and everyone was so kind and helpful.

Mass tourism experience not for the more adventurous travelers. Please note that solo travelers will be placed in a shared room.

The guides are fantastic, doing their utmost to ensure you have the best experience and really lovely people too.

Would not book this tour. The tour is actually a 2 day tour. A lot of waiting rather than jungle time
Linda_P, Jul 2025
Absolutely a fantastic trip to the jungle with the best guide, Elar and a great group. We saw lots a wild life both in the evening and during the day. We may not have read everything about the trip -but a good tip is to pack a small bag to bring to the jungle. But definitely go!

It was a great experience, def must see! Ronal was very knowledgable and made the tour really enjoyable, you can tell he really cares about the environment 😊

It was an ok experience. From day one, we paid our $20 fee with the booking, but were just put on a boat with no instructions on where to get off. Luckily we got off on the right stop, but still very confusing. The tour guide, Tito, is a sweet man and was amazing with the rest of our tour on day 1. Day 2 felt long as we were able to see some animals, but we didn’t have the best luck of seeing that much on the day and walking night tour. Day 3 was short, with the canopy walk taking 30 minutes, and we started early for no reason. Our flight was at 5:20, and they had us rush out by 8:30 am from the lodge, and we had to wait by the office + airport in the city. Keep in mind, we had to go at 6:00 for the canopy, had breakfast at 7:30 (almost an hour) and left at 8:30, so very rushed and early in the morning for no reason.

This was an amazing experience. The length of the stay in the rainforest was perfect. We did the 3D/2N and it was a perfect amount. Our guide Rodrigo was amazing and we learned a lot about the wildlife, fruits and plants. He answered all of our questions and did an amazing job. Thank you so much Rodrigo. He was a 10/10 Guide

Had really great time during this tour, the arrangements of the tour is good, not too tired also did a lot of things, our tour guide he is really knowledgeable with a lot of experience which is so fascinating, the food was surprisingly nice, ppl who wanna hotel level stay might find the lodge very basic, but it’s very nice for me as we stay in the real natural and it got mosquito net.

An amazing experience - there were a lot of tours of the rainforest, seeing different animals at different times/locations. The guide Samuel was lovely. The food was delicious, the lodgings are very nice. I really recommend it.
Lynne_W, Oct 2024
Everything is well planned and you can see a lot of animals ! Our guide Samuel was nice and well knowledged. The food was good and plenty - no one is starving here. The rooms are mostly clean but they don’t bother removing spider webs and stuff in corners, also the pool was a bit dirty and therefore wasn’t inviting to swim in. Those are the only “negative” things though, hence one star less. Besides that, you only sleep there anyway, the days are packed with jungle excursions, boat tours etc.

I can recommend this tour and the stay at Amazon eco lodge. We had an amazing guide who spoke very good English. I slept very well in the lodge, food was good and we had time to relax in between that we could spend at the pool or by watching monkeys, birds or other wildlife from the hammock at the lodge area.
WiFi at the common area available. It is a eco lodge, so all depending on solar energy. Electricity worked :) water was not hot but best temperature for humidity and high degrees outside .:) I liked the experience
We saw many animals in our activities and learned a lot about the djungle
Eric_B, Sep 2024
Great experience all around, if you go in August to September, everything will not be as green, but it was still beautiful. Saw way more animals that I would’ve expected, pool was nice, meals were very good, and Elmer our tour guide was top tier!!

It’s quite an adventure! Well organised and well looked after. Tito was a lovely guide, who has lived an interesting life. The activities have you feeding monkeys, swinging through the rainforest and seeing lots of different creatures.
Be prepared for mosquitos, spiders and more. The food was ok and the accomodation was clean but not the most comfortable.

Very good experience, would 100% recommend. Things i wish i knew prior to going so that it can help others.
I thought we would be staying outside/ or in a place with limited facilities. You are in luck; dont do what i did and buy a mosquito net and the lot as you stay on a lodge with your own room and private bathroom (mosquito nets are already provided).
Brilliant tour guide, good group of people on my tour and was able to see so many different animals. My highlight was the lakes :)
Food very good and cater for all dietary requirements.
Buy bug spray; you'll need it. Wonderful experience, so so happy i done it. Thank you so much.
Only Issue I Had. I had paid seperately at an additional cost to do the zipline & all other people on my tour confirmed they had not paid an extra costs and they were all allowed to partake in the activity.
I did question this at the time with the office and was told that they couldnt refund me and that they would getting the money from the other travellers (of course i know that cannot happen as they had all left at that point). They really should of provided us with a refund and for that they lose a star.

Great experience for 2 nights. Fernando was a fantastic tour guide, really helpful and knowledgeable about the wildlife and area! Overall we enjoyed our time

We had a great time at the lodge in the jungle. The staff was very nice and the place looked beautiful. We spent two great days with Elar who was our tour guide. He knows a lot about the animals and plants we could find in the jungle and was entertaining. Thanks for the great tour, especially the trip to Sandoval lake!
The last day Elar unfortunately he had to do another tour and the other tourguide, whose group we had to join, didn't really care about our group.
We would have wished for more time or activities on the third day. The canopy walk started at 6am and was quite short. After that we got breakfast and couldn't do much as the boat departed at 9:30am even though most of the group had their flight at 5:20pm. We wished there would have been the option to stay longer in the jungle and do another activity or walk instead of hanging out in a cafe at Puerto Maldonado for hours. We liked that the agency provided a taxi to the airport in the afternoon.

The experience was a lot better than I thought it would be.
I got picked up at my hotel and meet with the group at the office in town. We were then taken by boat the to lovely lodge. The room were basic but still good for the jungle! Personal bathroom, usb plugs, good beds. The lodge itself is gorgeous, with a pool, and wifi in the dining room.
The meals were generous and they provided for my diet.
Our guide was great! Gonzalo, an enthusiastic and knowledgable local showed us the monkeys, the caimans, the capybaras and all sorts of wildlife around. He knew was he was doing and kept us safe at all time.
I highly recommend this tour.
The only negative point I could bring up is that the tour stays a 3 days 2 night, but we were back in the city at 11am the 3rd day.
We were all dropped at our hotel or airport or bus station that day.

A unique experience. Camp like environment with planned excursions. Good staff in ideal location. Well planned.
Shane_C, Apr 2024
Our guide Fernando was brilliant, very nice man with good English and very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and extremely good at spotting wildlife. The resort was also very good, with a nice swimming pool to relax at between excursions and really good food. 100% recommend.
Souzana_V, Apr 2024
Amazing unforgettable experience that I would definitely recommend! Mosquito repellent and sunscreen are a must.
Jin_J, Apr 2024
I had such a good experience on this trip. Louis was definitely the best guide I could ask for. The days were packed and I was able to see so many wild animals in their natural habitat. I am usually vegetarian at home and can’t eat dairy and they were more than accommodating. The rooms are hot with no fans but you’re in the jungle. I did learn that people paid a different amount of money each but I think it’s 1000% worth it.
Jackson_G, Mar 2024
Excellent jungle experience. Couldn’t be easier with airport to airport transfers, all meals included (with large portions) and knowledgeable guides taking us through all our tours.
Jessica_B, Mar 2024
Our guide Fernando was amazing!! The accommodation was perfect, food was fantastic, decent quality and good portions. Amazing experiences. 100% recommend.
Aisling_T, Feb 2024
We had a wonderful time on the Amazon tour! Our tour guide Ronal was really friendly and informative, and his passion for the jungle and its wildlife was infectious. We saw a bunch of wildlife in their natural habits like caiman alligators, capybara, different types of monkeys, birds, and insects. The food was good and the cabins were comfortable. Would definitely recommend this tour!
marco_v, Feb 2024
Great experience, I wish I had more time to spend here!!
Ask for Fernando, he is the best guide you can get for sure.
Misscwright, Feb 2024
The guide Ronald was awesome. We saw lots of stunning wildlife. The activities were varied, fun and interesting.
No aircon and a hot pool made it tough to cool down during the peak of the day.
Jordan_L, Feb 2024
While we had a GREAT GUIDE (shout out to Ronald) he was a subcontractor. I thought the tour was extremely overpriced for the services, accommodation and food provided. And I paid less that others in my group. We were all charged vastly different prices (from $150-$500) for basically the same things. We also got charged an extra $20 USD for entry into the Tambopata Reserve and yet when we arrived, the park entry was only 30 soles (<$8). This really rubs me the wrong way. The 2-3 day tour should be worth <$100. We saw monkeys, many birds, a cayman and lots of insects/spiders (yuck) but it wasn’t what I would have expected from a rainforest tour. Find another provider or get a better price to make this trip worth it.
Vaishakhi_M, Jan 2024
This was such good choice! The activities were well spaced out, with lots of time to rest in between. The food was amazing. Our guides Ronal and Luis were just too good! They were knowledgable about the area, and were incredible at spotting the local wildlife. The tour company was also amenable to last minute changes. We changed our tour in the last minute to add the macaw clay licks. While they charged an additional 100$ per person for this change, this ended up being the absolute highlight of our trip. Our ONLY complaint was the lodgings themselves. They depend on solar power for their rooms, so there aren't a lot of amenities, which was fine. But then the charging points were not working in our room, so we couldn't even charge our phones. Other people did not have this issue. When we moved to a different lodge for the clay lick trip, the lights did not work at all! A dark room in the middle of the forest at night is a terrifying place! These room related issues aside, it was an incredible experience!

We had a great time. The environment was amazing. The employees at the lodge were very helpful and friendly.
A fan in the room would be very helpful, as during the day it is very warm.
