For this excursion we start at 3:00 am (depending on the season) and by car we go by land for around 80 minutes to the shore of the Tambopata River, where our boat is waiting for us to take us upriver towards the heart of the Tambopata reserve. ; On the route there is the option to see jaguars...that same day we are returning at approximately 12:00 pm. It is a route that usually takes 2 days, but thinking about travelers with short time, we left the city very early in the morning. But if you have enough time we offer a package of 2 days and one night with a visit to the Chuncho clay lick and Sandoval lake in the Tambopata National Reserve

Charlie was the best tour guide for our experience. He was so knowledgeable about the Amazon, the animals, vegetation, Tambopata River, etc. You have to get to the clay lick site via river boat in the early hours of the morning, so you may want a jacket if you are someone who’s always cold. It was a clear day so we were able to see Amazon parrots, macaws, capybaras, and sea turtles. I missed the monkey cross the street when we were leaving the area, but there was also a monkey. They provided breakfast for us due to our day starting at 2:50 am. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for a half day trip in the Amazon rainforest.

We had an excellent day. Charlie, our guide, was exceptionally friendly and highly competent. He made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed a memorable tour. From the quiet drive to the picturesque boat ride down the Tambopata River, to the incredible birdwatching at the clay lick, the entire experience was outstanding. A lovely touch was the picnic breakfast set up opposite the clay licks. We were lucky to encounter a capybara family, and Charlie remained attentive throughout, always watching for wildlife and birdlife. Strongly recommend.

Borris was an excellent tour guide and very professional. He took us to several incredible spots where we saw 4 species of macaws!! We also got lucky enough to see a capybara family. He was always on the lookout for the animals and birds.

Amazing day on the river! Our guide was wonderful, transport was great and nice touch with picnic breakfast opposite the clay licks. Was a very early start but well worth it!
